*Sun rise*

(F/n)'s POV

Jean quit running after an hour in of our punishment, I stopped every once in awhile for a five minute break before running again.

I wasn't going to be a weak link and only run for an hour and stop for the rest of the night. But that's exactly what Jean did.

"Kirstein, get your ass up and running!" I heard Shadis shout. I glanced over my shoulder for a quick look at Jean, while I was still running. I smirked a little when I saw him stand up and run again.

'That's what happens when you be a lazy wimp.' I thought to myself. "Hey (l/n) kid, you can be done since you actually ran!" Shadis shouted. I stopped in my tracks and turned around.

"Yes, sir!" I shouted back and saluted. "See you later, Jean-boy!" I hollered as I walked back to the girls' dorms to change into a fresh uniform. After taking a quick shower and changing, I headed to the mess hall with Mikasa.

"So you actually survived running all night?" She asked. "Yup." I said, popping the 'p'. "What about Jean?" She turned to look at me. "No, he quit not that long after we started. But he's running again now since he got caught slacking off." I chuckled.

"Wow." She sighed. "I wonder how long he has to run though." I questioned, "Probably until training starts." Mikasa replied. I nodded in agreement as we made it to the mess hall.

I scanned out the mess hall and saw Eren and Armin sitting together, so of course Mikasa ran over to them. I grabbed us some bread and walked back over to their table.

"Hey Eren, and Armin." I greeted as I sat down across from them. "Hey." They both said. "Jean still running?" Armin asked. "Yeah." I sighed and looked down at my food.

After eating we all went outside for training, today we were practicing the 3DMG in the forest. We were also going to practice slicing the nape of Titans' necks on Titan dummies.

After we were signaled to go, we all dashed into the forest and shot our anchors up and raced through the forest to look for a Titan dummy.

I noticed Jean next to me and he seemed to have spotted one. I looked ahead and squinted, he was right. There was a Titan dummy off in the distance so I sped up ahead of him to get there first.

"No fair!" He shouted, "Too bad!" I replied and went faster. Turns out I beat him there and already sliced a portion of the neck off. I saw another one not that far away, so I quickly maneuvered over there.

And just like last time, I beat Jean to it. After a long day of training, I ended up getting ten Titans and got first place for it. Jean was really pissed off that I kept getting to the ones he was going to get before him.

What made this day 'better' was that during dinner I had to sit at his table, due to there not being any open seats left. I didn't want to be included in any of his small talk with that one brunette boy with freckles.

"Ah, man that'd be amazing! Working within a stone wall for the king? No greater honor then that!" I heard the brunette say. I guess he's planning on joining the Military Police when he graduates.

I glanced up for a second to look at them, and right when I did Jean smacked the back of the boy's head. "Shut up, Marco! We're not children, you can drop the misty eye bs-" Jean said before I cut him off.

"What is up with you, horse face? Why do you have to be so rude to others here?" I asked. "Can you stay out of this?" He asked. "Not until you apologize to him." I crossed my arms over my chest.

"You really expect me to listen to you? He's my friend, he doesn't care." Jean scoffed. I rolled my eyes and looked at the brunette named 'Marco'. "How do you feel about being treated like this, Marco?" I asked him.

"Oh..i-it's fine." He muttered and scratched the back of his neck, embarrassed by Jean. "While you're here, you can tell me where you got the name 'Jean-boy' from?" He asked.

I raised an eyebrow in confusion, "I didn't get it from anywhere. I just thought of it." I shrugged. "Yeah, whatever." He muttered. I looked around the mess hall and saw that Eren had a crowd surrounding him.

'Wonder what he's talking about.' I thought to myself and walked over there when I finished eating. I wasn't really paying much attention to what he was talking about, but I heard something about Titans and how he plans on killing them all and joining the Scouts.

Then Eren walked away to go outside, with Mikasa and Armin following suit. So I decided I would follow them too. "Eren, wait!" Armin said.

We walked outside and saw Eren sitting on the staircase. "That was uh..quite a state you gave us there." Armin spoke up as we sat down beside him.

"Nah, most of it was your's. That stuff you used to say back in the day." Eren replied. A moment of silence passed before Armin spoke up again. "Yeah well, I'm joining the Scout Regiment too!" He shouted.

"Huh? Now you're just being stupid! Come on, you're not a fighter! Your life is with books." Eren scoffed. "I'm through with letting other people fight for me." Armin replied.

"Guess it's the scouts for me too, then." Mikasa sighed. "Oh come on! You're top of the class, you'd be wasting your shot!" Eren furrowed his brows at Mikasa.

"Understand this Eren; where you go, I go. I made a promise to your mom before she died. I'm not letting you die, I've got your back whether you like it or not. So just deal with it." Mikasa shot him a glare.

"Yeah, but mom's not here." Eren muttered, "A lot of people I used to care about aren't here either." Mikasa replied. Eren thought for a moment before talking, "What are you planning on joining, (f/n)?" Eren asked me.

"My heart is set on the Scouts, as well." I answered. "Guess everyone wants to join the suicidal squad." Eren chuckled, and looked up at the night sky. Armin looked up too, and Mikasa did the same.

I joined them and looked at the sky, seeing a shouting star. I grinned upon the sight as we continued to stare at it for a little longer.

*1 day later*

We were all out in the town, watching as the Scouts returned from an expedition. I stood next to Eren, with Mikasa and Armin next to us as well. And some others from the trainees behind us.

"Heads up, the main unit of the Scout Regiment is back!" I heard someone shout, "That's right! Commander Erwin, did you give those ugly bastards a thrashing?!" Another shouted.

I wasn't paying much attention to the others around me. But when the next civilian shouted, it caught my attention. "It's captain Levi! They say he's like an entire brigade to himself!"

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked towards the man who shouted, he was pointing out a dark haired man on a horse riding by the other Scout leaders.
'Captain Levi? I've never seen him in person, but I heard he's amazing at his job.' I thought as I looked at him.

"Tch, staring." I heard him mutter as he passed us. "(F/n), what are you staring at?" Armin tapped my shoulder. "Oh..n-nothing!" I hesitated, turning my focus on Armin.

"You know how excited everybody is? It's like the crowd just had an entirely different energy now!" Eren exclaimed. I spaced out just watching all the scouts return from outside the walls.

Done with chapter 3! And I apologize if I got some of the lines from episode 4 wrong, I just wrote down what I heard because some things they said I didn't understand XD
