Maya woke up to the sun shining through the window of the living room.

Last night she fell asleep watching T.V., which she hasn't been able to do in a long time.

She tried to sit up but found it more difficult than usual. She ate a lot but not enough to make it almost impossible to get up.

Maya threw the blanket she had on off and her eyes widened when she saw her stomach.

Rather than the small bump that was there yesterday, her stomach had grown and appeared as though she were 9 months pregnant, not 3.

She pushed herself into a sitting position and looked around for her phone. Using her hands to push off the couch, she attempted to stand, but ultimately failed.

Across the room, on the table next to the T.V., was her phone.

Once more, with all of her strength, she forced herself to stand. Panting slightly at the use of so much energy, she made her way across the room and called Elena.

"Hey, is everything alright?" Elena asked.

"Yeah, yeah," Maya said, still out of breath from her short walk across the room. "It's just-" she began but let out a loud groan in pain and clutched her stomach.

"Maya?!" Elena shouted through the phone.

"It's the babies," Maya explained, "they're coming."

"What? How is that even possible?"

"I don't know. I need you to get Meredith and haul ass up here because there is no way I'm going to be able to do this myself."

"Yeah, yeah okay, is there anything else you need me to do."

"Call Liam, he should be on his way anyway because he told me he was coming to visit. I also need you to call Klaus, I know you hate him but it's his kid too. Tell him if he pulls any bullshit, I'll kill him myself. Bring Jeremy and Matt if you need to, the more the merrier right? Um, that's all I can think of. Just hurry."

"Got it, okay, see you soon."

Maya hung up the phone and slowly made her way back to the couch.

"Why now?" Maya asked, touching her stomach.

After what felt like forever to Maya, Elena entered the house, followed by Meredith who had a bunch of medical equipment and Jeremy and Matt.

"How are you feeling?" Meredith asked as she set up the portable ultrasound.

"Pretty good, but, uh, how is this even possible?" Maya asked.

"I'm not sure. It could be the witches trying to protect the babies or the babies trying to protect themselves, hell, it could be you who did this. Magic is complicated."

"I was supposed to have 6 more months, 6 more months to get ready. I don't even have diapers yet, let alone cribs. What am I gonna do?"

"I called Caroline on the way up here, she said she would go to the store and pick up some stuff for you. She's gonna meet us once she has everything. Liam's on his way and Klaus is MIA."

"Give me my phone," Maya demanded as she pointed at the table across the room.

Jeremy immediately walked across the room and grabbed it for her.

"Thank you," she said before calling Klaus.

"Pick up, pick up, pick up," Maya whispered. The call went to voicemail and she let out a groan.

"Damn it Klaus, the one time I actually want you around, you're nowhere to be found? I swear to God, if you don't show up, I'll have your head on a stick. Tell your idiotic brother to pull his head out his ass and let Damon free of his compulsion so I can have my best friend here with me or you two can both enjoy being beheaded," Maya said into the phone before hanging up.

"She's violent when she's angry," Matt whispered to Jeremy.

"I heard that," Maya said to Matt.

"Sorry," he muttered.

"So you are in labor, considering the special circumstances of this pregnancy, I don't know how long or how quick it will be," Meredith explained.

"Fantastic."

"Can you two clear this room out? We are gonna need space," Meredith asked Jeremy and Matt.

They both nodded and went to work on moving the tables and couches.

"Elena, do you guys have extra blankets that you don't mind getting rid of?"

"Yes, I'll be right back," Elena said before running upstairs.

After everyone did as told, Meredith set up the floor so it would be as comfortable as possible for Maya.

She stood up when she was finished and turned to Maya, "Can you stand?"

"I think so," Maya said weakly before standing up. She managed to stay up for a few seconds before she almost fell. Someone quickly caught her.

She looked up at the person and saw Liam. "You're here," Maya said softly.

"Always," Liam said as he helped her over to Meredith.

Once Maya was situated, Elena sent Jeremy and Matt upstairs so she could have some privacy.

"I'll be upstairs if you need anything," Elena said as she made her way to the stairs.

"No," Maya protested.

"What?"

"I want you here with me."

"You do?"

"You're my best friend, of course I want you here."

Elena smiled before walking back and joining everyone on the floor.

Maya grabbed her stomach in pain before shouting. The whole house shook and the lights flickered.

After the contraction ended, Maya turned to Meredith, "Is that going to happen every time?"

"Can't be sure, but the closer you get to the actual birth, something tells me it'll only get worse."

"What if I hurt someone?"

"You won't," Liam reassured her.

"You don't know that."

Maya turned to look at Elena, "Where is he?"

"Where is who?" Meredith asked.

"I'm not sure, he still hasn't called back."

Maya let out an annoyed groan, "You would think one threatening message would be enough. Pass me my phone."

"Are you sure that's a good idea?"

"Give me my phone," Maya repeated, this time more stern.

Elena let out a sigh of defeat before handing Maya her phone.

Maya called Klaus for the second time that day, only this time, he answered.

"Where the hell have you been?" Maya shouted into the phone.

"Well, hello to you too love," Klaus said in a calm voice.

"Don't call me love. You better get your ass down her or I'll-"

"Have my head on a stick?"

"Exactly."

"Don't you think your being a little dramatic?"

"Dramatic? I'm about to push two people out of my vagina, I'm allowed to be as dramatic as I want. Get here, now."

"I am here," he said with a chuckle.

"I don't see you."

"Open the door."

Elena furrowed her eyebrows before walking to the door and opening it to reveal a smirking Klaus.

"So who's gonna invite me in?" he said as he hung up the phone and put it in his pocket.

"Took you long enough," Maya commented from the floor.

"He ran into a few snags in the road," Damon said, pushing his way past Klaus.

"Damon? You can't be here, Jeremy's upstairs," Elena said, slightly panicked.

"Kol is allowing me two days of not wanting to kill Jeremy."

"He did?" Maya asked.

"With the combination of your threats and the fact that you are about to have his niece, he seemed pretty lenient. Stefan, Tyler and Caroline are on their way."

"Good."

"Speaking of the Gilbert boy, will someone get him to invite me in?" Klaus commented from the door.

"Not gonna happen," Jeremy said from the other side of the house.

"Jeremy," Elena began but he cut her off.

"I'm not inviting a sociopath in, no way."

"Jeremy, please," Maya said before her face contorted with pain and she began to groan in pain.

"Not again," she muttered before the house, once again, began to shake and the lights flickered, much worse than the last time as she shouted in pain.

After a minute, it stopped. Everyone stood up straight and regained their posture.

"Look, I can promise he will not do anything to hurt you or anyone you care about if you invite him in. Trust me."

Jeremy looked uncertain before reluctantly turning to Klaus. "You can come in but if you pull anything, I will find a way to kill you.

Klaus then entered the house and made his way over to where Maya, Liam, and Meredith sat on the floor.

"It's happening again," Maya screamed in agony as the fireplace, that was previously not lit, erupted with fire.

"I think the first baby is ready to come out," Meredith said as she examined her cervix.

"You think?" Liam asked.

"Yes, I think. This pregnancy is far more complicated than the average pregnancy."

"Okay Maya, this is gonna be the hard part, alright? So bare with me."

Maya nodded as she attempted to prepare herself for what's to come.

"I need one of you to sit behind her for support," Meredith said to Klaus and Liam.

The two looked at each other before Klaus moved and sat behind her.

"When I say push, push. Got it?"

"Got it," Maya groaned.

"1, 2, 3...push," Meredith said and Maya obeyed.

She shouted in pain as she attempted to push the first baby out. The house, for what felt like the millionth time, shook and the lights flickered. Jeremy and Matt both went flying across the room and they let out a groan in pain.

"From here on, something tells me it's only going to get worse. You guys should get out, just in case."

"She's right," Maya mumbled out as she began to push again, she shouted in pain, "you need to get out!"

"We aren't leaving you," Elena protested.

"I'll be fine, just go, please."

"Okay, okay we'll go," Elena said and she gestured for Damon, Matt and Jeremy to follow her as she left.

"You two should go too," Maya suggested to Liam and Klaus.

"I'm not leaving, at least not until my son is born," Liam argued.

"It's not like you can kill me," Klaus pointed out.

"I need you to push again Maya."

Nodding weakly, she gripped Klaus's arms before pushing with everything she had.

"He's crowning," Meredith said and she pushed again.

After what felt like a lifetime, the first baby was born and let out a cry.

"Want to cut the cord dad?" Meredirh said to Liam who nodded and he took the scissors and cut between the clamps.

"Wrap him in that blanket over there and take him outside, if anything odd happens, tell me."

He nodded before doing as told and joined everyone outside with the newborn.

"I don't think I can do this," Maya groaned in exhaustion.

"You have a small break before the next baby is ready but I'm letting you know now that if you don't push, I have to perform a c-section."

"It hurts."

"You're half way done."

"You're going to get through this love," Klaus said from behind Maya. "I'm here."

She had her head leaned back against his shoulder as she tried to calm down. Her arms were slung over his legs when the house started to shake again and she shot up in pain.

Maya screamed in agony resulting in the house shaking even more as she gripped Klaus's arm tightly.

"It's time to start pushing, are you ready?"

"Nope. But I'll do it anyway."

Klaus intertwined his hand with hers as she began to push and gripped his hand.

"She's crowning," Meredith informed them as Maya began to push again.

After a lot of pushing, their baby girl was born.

Maya smiled weakly at the baby as it began to wail.

Klaus cut the cord and Meredith cleaned up the baby before handing her to me.

"Hope," Maya said smiling down at the baby.

"What?" Klaus questioned.

"That's her name," she explained, "Hope Lockwood-Mikaelson."

"Oh..." he said trailing off and looking down at the babies face.

"Do you want to hold her?" she asked him.

"I don't know," he answered honestly.

After a few moments of silence and admiring their baby, everyone rejoined them, including Stefan, Caroline and Tyler.

"Hey," Maya said weakly to everyone.

Maya had gotten semi cleaned up, she had new clothes on and washed my face but had yet to take a shower which she desperately needed.

"How are they?" Stefan asked.

"Hope is sleeping and Liam has Tyler upstairs."

"Yeah, that whole name thing is going to get complicated," Tyler commented.

"Well, when I say Tyler has a dirty diaper, I think it's safe to assume I'm talking about you," Maya joked.

"Oh, ha, ha. So funny," he said before joining Caroline, Elena and Matt on the other side of the room.

"If you need anything, let me know," Stefan added before leaving as well.

The birth took a lot out of her and she was so exhausted that as soon as she laid down, she was out.

"Let her sleep," one voice said.

"I want to say goodbye before you guys lock me up again," said another.

"She just had two babies, she needs rest."

Maya's eyes slowly opened to reveal two bickering Salvatore's.

"Hey," she muttered, pushing myself into a sitting position.

"You woke her up," Stefan accused.

"No, you were being to loud it was your fault," Damon countered.

"Guys!" she interrupted.

"Sorry," they both said in unison.

"I have to go back to the cell before my 48 hours are up," Damon explained.

"Yeah, go, I've been to enough funerals to last me a lifetime."

Maya pulled him into a hug. She let go and he nodded before walking out.

"Caroline and Tyler are coming back with us. Matt, Jeremy and Elena already left. Liam is upstairs and Klaus is wandering around somewhere."

"Thanks for coming, it means a lot."

"Anytime," he said before leaving.

She let out a sigh of relief and let her head fall back when Hope started to cry.

Maya laughed slightly and sat up to go get her but saw that Klaus already had her. She smiled at the sight.

Klaus held her head protectively with his left hand and wrapped his right arm around the rest of her body. He looked slightly uncomfortable at first but eventually got more comfortable with it. Hope eventually stopped crying and Klaus looked proud of himself.

Maya made my way over to the two and looked down at her. She had the usual squishy face most newborns did that Maya usually found ugly but she was beautiful. Her eyes were still swollen shut and her nose was pink from her rubbing it. She looked peaceful in his arms.

"You're good with her," Maya said with a smile and he looked at her.

"Yeah, I guess."

She heard footsteps coming from the stairs and saw Liam carrying a cranky Tyler.

"He's hungry," she said, slowly taking him from Liam and walking over to the kitchen where she had a premade bottle.

Maya picked up the bottle and gently placed it in his mouth and he began to suck the milk from the bottle.

She smiled down at Tyler, it was the same story as Hope, only his whole face was red from crying.

After he had his fill, she took the blanket off the couch and put it over my shoulder. She moved Tyler into a position where she could burp him and keep control of his head.

Maya gently patted his back as she rocked slowly back and forth until eventually, he spit up on the cloth.

"Can you hold him while I clean up?" Maya asked Liam and he nodded, taking Tyler from my arms.

She made my way weakly up the stairs, sore from the days events and walked into the master bathroom and took a long hot shower.
