"Please sign here and here," the lawyer stated pointed at the two places where Elena would need to sign. Damon and Stefan Salvatore have decided to sign over their house, temporarily of course, to Elena for safety. This way there will be no unwanted guests and she would be safe from Klaus.

"Okay," she said smiling brightly.

"So this house is yours now and they just gave it to you?" Bonnie asked

"For now," Elena began, "As the owner, I am the only one who can invite a certain type of person in here, if you know what I mean."

"Your own personal safe house."

"That's the idea."

"Wouldn't want to clean it."

The two best friends stood up and walked over to the door where the two vampire brothers stood behind. "Thank you, Mr. Henry," Elena said opening the door for him. After he left the two brothers attempted to walk in but were stopped by an invisible barrier.

"I'm sorry I completely forgot," Elena said turning toward Stefan, "Stefan. Would you like to come inside my house?"

"I would love to. Thank you," the younger Salvatore brother stated entering the house.

She then turned to Damon, "What are we twelve?"

"One of us is. If I let you in, do you promise to obey the owner of this house?"

"No."

"Seriously, Damon. My way. You promised. I call the shots. No lies, no secret agendas. Remember?"

"Yes, Elena. Sure."

"Then please, come in."

Damon then entered the house and looked at Stefan, "Shut up."

Bonnie walked back in from the other room and handed Elena her jacket. "Thanks," Elena stated.

"Wait, where are you going?" Stefan asked.

"To school."

"Huh?"

"No, no, no. We didn't create a safe house for you to leave it," Damon stated as though it should be obvious.

"Yeah, guys, Klaus is out there. We know that."

"Right. But where? No one knows. Look, I really appreciate what you guys are doing. And I'll be able to sleep at night knowing that I'll be safe here, but I'm not going to be a prisoner," Elena said turning to Damon as he tutted. "Your way, Elena."

"Don't worry, I'm ready. If he shows his face, I can take him, I know how," Bonnie stated referring to her powers.

"The way I see it, next to Bonnie is the safest place that I can be. Come on," Elena said walking out the door.

"Wait, um, coming," Stefan said reluctantly.

Everyone took their seats before class began. Elena took the poster for the 60s dance out her bag and showed it to Stefan smiling. She then shows it to Bonnie and Maya who both nod their head in response. "Hello, class. What are we learning today?" Alaric spoke, seeming a little off.

"With the decade dance tonight, we've been covering the sixties all week," Dana spoke up.

"Right. The sixties," he said slowly turning and catching Elena's eye. He stared for a moment before turning toward the board, "The, uh, ahem..." he said clearing his throat and writing 'The 60s' on the board before turning back to the class. "The sixties. I wish there was something good I could say about the sixties," he began with a chuckle, "but... Actually, they kind of sucked. Except for the Beatles, of course. They made it bearable. Uh, what else was there? The Cuban Missile thing, the...we walked on the moon. There was Watergate."

"Watergate was the seventies, Ric," Maya spoke when she realized everyone was staring at her, including Alaric, she quickly corrected herself, "I-I mean Mr. Saltzman."

"Right. It all kind of mushes together up here, the sixties, seventies. Thank you..." he said trailing off not knowing her name. This caused Maya to furrow her eyebrows but she didn't say anything and merely listened to the rest of the lecture.

Once the bell rang and everyone left, Maya joined Alaric at the front. "You can't keep coming to school drunk Ric, we've talked about this."

"I'm not drunk," he protested, turning around to look at her.

"Mmhmm, right, you couldn't even remember my name. Maya, it's four letters, not that difficult. Unless you're drunk, of course."

"Right, sorry, it won't happen again," he said in monotone. "It better not," she said turning to walk away but turned back, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I am, thank you for asking."

"Right... see you later," she said before walking out.

She soon joined Bonnie and Elena for lunch when Dana walked up to them. "Hey, Elena, there you are. Okay. This is going to sound freaky, but this totally hot guy just asked me to ask you if you're going to the dance tonight."

"Tell him she has a boyfriend," Bonnie said.

"You could at least meet him. He'll be at the dance. Look for him. His name is Klaus."

"I'm sorry, what did you just say?" Elena asked concerned.

"His name's Klaus. I know the name's stupid, but I swear he's hot."

Maya frantically began looking around and Bonnie asked, "Where is he? Is he here?"

"I don't know."

"She's been compelled."

"But he wants to know if you'll save him the last dance. How cute is that?" And so it begins.

Immediately after school, Maya, Bonnie, Elena, and the Salvatore brothers met at the Salvatore Boarding House and awaited for Alaric to arrive.

"So we go to the dance, we find him," Damon said.

"Ah yes, another genius plan Damon, and after that, I'll plan your funeral, hmm, what type of flowers do you like?" Maya said causing Damon to shoot her a look.

"We don't even know what he looks like," Stefan pointed out.

"Something tells me he's not going to be sixteen and pimply," Damon countered.

Stefan turned to Elena and Bonnie, "I guess it's not as safe as you guys thought, huh?"

Someone knocked at the door, interrupting the five's conversation and Alaric entered.

"There you are," Damon complained.

"Sorry I'm late," Alaric said in the same monotone voice he has been using all day as he looked around seemingly taking in the living he had been in more times then they could count.

"Hey, I need you to put me down as a chaperone at the dance tonight. Klaus made his first move."

"Okay," Elena said, "so we find him and then what, hmm? What's our plan of attack?"

"Me. I'm the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him, I can kill him," Bonnie explained.

"That's not going to be easy. I mean, he is the biggest, baddest vampire around," Alaric pointed out seeming slightly offended by the aspect of a newbie witch defeating Klaus.

"Alaric has a point," Damon agreed obviously not noticing what Maya had, "I mean, what if he..." He then vamp-sped over to Bonnie who threw him across the room without even touching him.

"Well I was impressed," Stefan said holding back a laugh.

"It doesn't matter if he's an Original. I can take down anyone who comes at me. I can kill him, Elena. I know I can."

They all parted ways. Elena went upstairs, Damon and Stefan following after her. Bonnie left after her tangent about how confident she was in her abilities. Alaric and Maya left together.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Maya asked Alaric as he drove her home.

"Yes, I'm sure," he responded nonchalantly.

"Okay, well, thanks for the ride, see you at the dance."

He simply nodded before driving off, leaving Maya confused as she went inside.

Maya arrived at the dance late because her brother left without her and she had to wait for Caroline and Matt to pick her up. She had a lot of time to think once she arrived at the party. The more she thought about how off Alaric has been acting, the more she thought something was wrong.

Dana walked onto the stage and spoke into the mic, "Thanks for being here, everybody. We have a special shout-out tonight. This is for Elena. From Klaus."

A song began playing when hit her, she quickly walked over to overly chipper Alaric, or Klaus she should say, and grabbed his hand, "Dance with me."

"I don't dance Maya, you know that."

"But I wouldn't though, would I, Klaus?" she accused. His face visibly paled as he stiffened causing Maya to smirk.

"How long have you known?"

"Since class this morning, I mean I didn't know, but I knew."

"Hmm," he hummed and then began to smirk, "thank you."

"For what?" she asked but before she got a verbal answer she was being dragged away by an ancient vampire wearing her teacher as a meat suit.

"How original," she said laughing slightly at her pun, "Kidnapping? Really?"

He ignored her and stopped in a random classroom. "Stay," he said.

"I'm not a dog, well, technically I am but that's not the point. I'm not going to 'stay.' You can't make me."

"Wait," he said stopping in his tracks, "you're a werewolf?"

"Yep."

"Perfect," he said before she blacked out.
