Prologue

James Potter-Black was freaking out. He is a male bearer, the first in the Potter line since Ignotus Peverell who was alive nearly 800 years ago. And he had just found out via his best friend, Dorcas Meadows-McKinnon, who was a Healer that he was pregnant, and he didn't know what his husband and best friend Sirius Orion Black-Potter III was going to say.
"Dorcas what am I going to do! What if Sirius doesn't want children right now? That would literally kill me! I..."

"Jamie, calm down, everything is going to be fine." Dorcas assured him, squeezing his hand comfortingly, just as the wards signalled to James that Sirius had returned home.
"Jamie? Prongs my love, where are you?" Sirius called, he had returned home early after meeting his brother Regulus for lunch, as he was incredibly worried for James as he had been ill a lot lately. "Hello Dorcas. What's wrong?" Sirius asked, noticing their friend sitting beside his husband.

"Hello Sirius, I'll be in the next room to let you two talk." She smiled at them comfortingly.
"Jamie?" Sirius asked worriedly, sitting beside his husband grasping his hand and pressing a kiss to James's knuckles as worry ate him alive as terrible thoughts ran rampant around his brain as he feared for the worst. Taking a deep breath to gather his courage James started to ramble.

"Sirius, you know we met on the train at eleven and became instant best friends, then we grew closer and started dating in fourth year, and while we were dating we came up with many plans for the future, and then we got married right out of Hogwarts..."
"James, I love you, but calm down and tell me what's wrong, love?" Sirius begged, rubbing James' knuckles soothingly as an indulgent smile fought its way onto his lips. He loved when James rambled and went on tangents but not when he was worried for his husband's health.

"'Right, right. Anyways, you know we always wanted children, right? Well, we will have them and we have to find Godparents and inform Moony, Loki and..."
"James!"
"Okay, I'm trying to say that I'm expecting!" James blurted out, closing his eyes so he didn't have to see the disappointment in Sirius' eyes, that is until Sirius let out an excited cry.
"What! Really? This is the best gift EVER!!!" Sirius cheered jumping up and down excitedly, much like his Grim Animagus form who howled happily inside him happy to finally have a pup with his mate to look after, before he sat back down and kissed James with so much love and passion.

In the next room Dorcas smiled happily to herself feeling incredibly happy for two of her best friends and she couldn't wait to welcome her new niece or nephew into the world. She knew instantly that when her wife, Marlene, found out she would immediately claim Godmother rites.
"Now Jamie, I want you to take it easy for the next few months." Dorcas told him sternly as she reentered the lounge. "Male pregnancies are extremely fragile so that means no flying, no duelling and certainly no potion brewing.

I'll check you over once a month as your personal Healer if you wish, and write to your Manager at Puddlemere United and inform you can no longer play as their Chaser for several months. Due to your contract he can't release to the press that you're pregnant without losing both his position and his magic."
"That would be great Raven, thank you." James smiled with relief coating every word.

"You're welcome Jamie. Where is everyone?" She asked curiously, jotting something on a piece of parchment. "I have a prescription of potions to give to your Father and I bet he will want to improve or create a better version." Dorcas said, causing the three of them to laugh.
"Mum and Aunt Dorea are away on a retreat to Madam Hemingway's Spa and Beauty Salon in Bath, and Dad and Uncle Charlus are down in the Duelling Chamber. They should be finished soon so I expect Dad will get started on the potions right away." James told her, accepting the prescription from his best friend.

"I'll see you soon Prongs, Padfoot." Dorcas said, hugging her friends. "Make sure he takes it easy, Padfoot, and just so you know Marlie and I expect to be Godmothers." She added with a wink, reducing the three of them to another round of laughter.
"Don't worry Raven, I'll make sure Prongs takes it easy." Sirius reassured her, giving her one more hug before letting her use the Floo home.

"Right Jamie, sit down, I'll get Pimsey to make you a cup of tea and I'll go and give this to Monty. Not sure I can wait three months until we tell everyone!" Sirius exclaimed excitedly, almost vibrating on the spot. James just laughed pecking Sirius on the lips as he sat back on the sofa.

* * *

A few months had passed since the day James and Sirius had found out they were gifted the most precious gift from Mother Magic; James was expecting. As per their society - unless they either either miscarried or created the highest social faux pas - it was common knowledge to wait three months to reveal your pregnancy and then, when the baby was born it was also known to society to announce the baby's name a week after it was born, this also afforded the parents a chance to bond with their newborn without others inputting their opinions.

During the past three months, as James crested the fourth month mark of his pregnancy, Fleamont Potter succeeded in creating better Paternity Potions for Male Carriers which helped many of the other Male Carriers in the Wizarding World as they flocked to Potter's Potions to purchase these new potions that were a thousand times better than what was on the market previously. In the meantime, James and Sirius had been deciding on names as they wanted to honour both family traditions (stars and/or constellations for the Black family, and noble and/or royalty for the Potter family) but they also wanted to honour James' Hispanic heritage. Their child would be proud of their heritage and their family affinity and magic, no matter their own affinity.

Grey, Dark Grey or Black, the Potters and Blacks would love this new family member no matter what as each child was a gift and should be treated as such. They had also been deciding on the Godparents for their child and would announce it at the afternoon tea that was set to be held at 3pm in the gardens of Potter Manor. However, there was one cloud of darkness hovering over their heads and that cloud was Albus Dumbledore. He was a man obsessed with power, a man who despised 'Dark Families', a man who despised anyone more powerful than him, a man who snubbed his nose at Tradition and a man who had once tried - and still tries - to start a war with Minister Tom Marvolo Slytherin.

Who had once been known as Tom Marvolo Riddle, despite all of the wonderful and much needed changes being brought to the Magical Community of Britain. Also another mark against the old man that made him obsessed with the Potters was their ancestry. As it was widely known that the Potters were descendants of Ignotus Peverell (especially when Fleamont had reclaimed the fabled Elder Wand; which now lie safe in the Family Vault at Gringotts, from Dumbledore after his 'defeat' of Grindelwald).

At that moment Dumbledore had nearly brought Lord Potter up on Wand Theft charges until he proved with his Account Manager Prince Skullcrusher that it was in fact a family heirloom that had been stolen by Grindelwald when he murdered Fleamont's Great Uncle, the charges were dropped along with a portion of Dumbledore's popularity. However, the old fool had seemed to have gotten it into his head that James would marry Miss Lily Evans, a Light Muggleborn witch, who had been in his year at Hogwarts and a dorm mate of Marlene and Dorcas, and who James had absolutely no contact with while they had been at Hogwarts let alone out of it.

When he had accosted James and Sirius a month ago in Diagon Alley asking (read demanding) when he would marry Lily, James and Sirius had laughed in his face. It wasn't until he demanded yet again, rather angrily, that they took stock of the situation and set him straight rather forcefully on Sirius' part who had been incensed at the outrageous behaviour of their old Headmaster.

After Dumbledore had stormed off in a huff like a petulant child muttering angrily to himself under his breath, James and Sirius made a beeline for Prince Skull-crusher's office to file a complaint against the Headmaster, followed by filing two more complaints one with Madam Bones and the other with the Wizengamot which had launched an ongoing investigation; which at the moment had only succeeded in removing Dumbledore from the Wizengamot but both the Potter and Black families were hoping for more.

"Jamie? Jamie? JAMES!?" Sirius shouted worriedly, pulling James from his frantic thoughts only to get a sharp nudge from his baby as he took deep breaths to regain control of his magic.
"Sorry baby, Daddy deserved that for making us both stressed, huh?" James crooned to his baby bump, rubbing it apologetically. "Sorry Siri, what did you say?" James asked, smiling sheepishly. Sirius just smiled, kissing James' temple, one hand cupping the baby bump only to feel a nudge against his hand in turn which made him beam like a madman.

"Here you go Princess." Sirius said, kissing the baby bump. "And it's alright Jamie, I gather you were thinking about Dumbledore." Sirius surmised.
"Yeah." James sighed, raking his hand through his hair. "What're we going to do, Siri? He's always been obsessed with my family, our family, ever since my Dad reclaimed the Elder Wand and stowed it away in the Vault, but this, this is something else."

"I don't want you stressing Jamie, for not only your sake but for our little girl's sake as well." Sirius chastised. "We will do what we've always done and stay away from him, his sycophants, and his games and we will make all the allies we need, from every Wizarding Community if we have to. We've already started. Besides, to answer your question: I had suggested Aquila Isabel Potter-Black for our daughter, and your Mum sent me up to wake you as everyone is here. Did you get any sleep?" Sirius fretted worriedly.
A smile came upon James' lips at Sirius' insistence that they were having a girl despite not knowing until the birth.

"I did. I had a really nice nap, but woke up five minutes before you came up, my mind drifted and I started worrying." James confessed, pecking his husband's lips lovingly, stretching as he climbed from their bed and made their way to the immense and beautiful gardens where the Potter, Black and García (James's family from Puerto Rico on his mother's side) families were waiting. Once James and Sirius had greeted everyone, and had played with their nieces Nymphadora Tonks and Rhea Lestrange, they gave the news that caused everyone to celebrate the wonderful news only a month after they had celebrated Narcissa and Lucius' news.

"I'm pregnant!" James announced excitedly, smiling as their large, very large, and extended family cried and celebrated - eight year old Nymphadora and three year old Rhea were cheering and dancing as they demanded another girl to play with as Narcissa had declared she was carrying a boy.
"Don't worry girls, Uncle Jamie is carrying a girl, I just know it!" Sirius declared seriously. "Our Littlest Star. And Reggie, my dearest brother, Jamie and I would love it if you were her Godfather along with Moony. We've asked Marlene and Dorcas to be Godmothers."

Regulus's beaming and grand smile was answer enough for James and Sirius as the youngest Marauder, (the Marauders had consisted of: Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, James Potter, Marlene McKinnon, Dorcas Meadows and Regulus Black), hugged his brothers happily, a slight blush upon his cheeks at the mentioning of Moony, they had no doubt.
"I'd be honoured." Regulus declared happily, hugging them both once more before he called for everyone's attention. "A Toast! A toast to James and Sirius and to our Littlest Star!" He announced, and all around the garden - and even in the manor, cries from the House-elves added to the excited din: "To James, Sirius, and our Littlest Star!"
