Everything felt sore, and it felt as if my whole body had been pricked with needles

My ears were slightly ringing as I slowly opened my eyes, blinking away the blurriness as I full took in my surroundings

I was in Mighty Med, and suddenly all that happened came flooding back to me and I panicked

"Krane... they need my help..." I groaned, sitting up, beginning to slowly rid myself of equipment, pulling off my oxygen mask and taking needles out of my veins

"Scarlett!! Hey woah! Let's not do that!" Kaz suddenly spoke as he appeared next to me, trying to get my back into bed

"No... no I have to go..." I mumbled, trying to stand but miserably failing and Kaz helped me back into bed

"Scarlett hey, you need to rest. Night poison was injected into you're blood stream and—"

"I don't care what was put into me! My family's in danger, I need to go," I urged

"Scarlett!" Sam's shrill voice sounded and she appeared on the opposite side of me, "How are you awake right now?"

"It's a comma thing with coma superheroes, they wake up delirious, but she needs to rest—"

"Krane is going to kill my family!" I snapped, "And so help me Kaz if you don't let me leave I swear—"

"Scarlett! Krane is gone!" Sam interrupted, I looked at her confused, my head pounding

"What? He is?" I croaked, she slowly nodded as her and Kaz both gently helped me lay back down, Kaz began to put in new needles into my veins

"Yes, he's gone. Adam, Bree, and Chase defeated them. That's when they found you," she gently told me, tears started to come to my eyes as Kaz put the oxygen mask over my head and back on my face

"Really?" I choked, she smiled softly and gently brushed some hair out of my face

"Yes. You finally got rid of him, Scarlett. But right now you need to go back to sleep so you don't hurt yourself okay? And then you can go home."

"I can go home?"

"Mmhmm."

"I wanna go home," I whimpered, she gently placed a hand on my cheek

"We'll take you home soon okay? Get some sleep," she softly spoke, I suddenly began to remember how tired I was and my eyes dropped closed

"Hey Sam?"

"Yeah Scarlett?"

"I just want you to know... you're my hero," I mumbled, feeling tiredness wash over me

"You're mine to Scar."

A couple hours later I was fully awake, aware, and definitely not delusional anymore like how I was when I first woke up, Sam, Oliver, Kaz, and Skylar were at my side filling me in on everything

"So, somehow Krane got a hold of Night poison, added some kind of corrosive chemical to it, and it just about killed me," I recounted

"Pretty much," Oliver nodded

"So just your average Tuesday then, someone's trying to kill me," I sighed, "At least he's gone for good and I can focus on recovering and find Claire and TJ. So when can I leave?"

"Well your hydrated, you ate a ton of burgers and fries, and you've proven all your abilities are in tact so I can safely say you can pretty much go home. Nothing to violent for the next couple of day though, okay?" Kaz warned, I nodded

"Yes, doctor. And believe me when I tell you I am dying to get home and do nothing but rest."

On my way home I kept feeling this pounding in my head, but I just assumed it was a side effect of the coma and ignored it as I came to the Davenport house

As I walked inside my face dropped as I noticed the entire bionic army dancing in our living room and Davenport, Adam, Bree, Chase, and Leo stood in the center arguing

"What did I just come back to?!" I gasped,
which made everybody stop dancing as everyone noticed me

Adam just smiled and waved, not seeing a problem at all, "Oh, hey, Scarlett!"

"Hey, Scarlett!" The bionic army repeated while waving to to me, okay that is creepy

"What in the world is going on?!" I asked as I made my way over to them, trying to ignore the pounding in my head

Bree just laughed nervously and said, "Scarlett, you're not dead... Yay!"

"What is going on here? Why is the bionic army that tried to kill us in our house?!" I hissed

"We had no choice. The government wants to lock them up!" Chase told me

"As that's a problem why?" I asked

Before he could even continue to explain, there was another knock at the front door. Chase became extremely irritated and said annoyed, "Oh, goodie. More people!"

Leo opened the front door, and my heart immediately dropped. There were government agents standing at their doorstep

"I'm Agent Reed. The President sent us to assist in the search for the criminals," One of the agents said, but when she saw all of the bionic soldiers in the house, she smirked and continued, "But it looks like you've already found them. Good work. We'll take it from here."

Before Davenport could do anything, Bree stopped him by saying, "No, Davenport. This is not their fault!"

"They were being controlled by the Triton App!" Chase told him

"They're just like us," Chase added

"He's right. We should all be arrested!" Adam suggested

Davenport took what they said into consideration for a moment before turning to Agent Reed and asking, "Is that necessary? I mean, what law have they actually broken."

"Theft of government property, breaking and entering into the White House, and launching a bionic war against humanity," Agent Reed listed

Davenport just scoffed and said, "Oh. Yeah, well... that seems like a slap on the wrist kind of thing to me."

Agent Reed didn't look amused as she told the other agents, "Cuff 'em!"

Suddenly, one solider shouted to the bionic army, "Go!"

Then, the entire bionic army disappeared out of the room before the agents could completely walk into the house. The agents and I looked shocked that the bionic army was now nowhere to be found while the rest of the house just looked amused

"What just happened?" Agent Reed demanded to know

"They geoleaped!" Davenport said excitedly, "You see, essentially, they can manipulate their molecular structure to-"

"Short answer," Agent Reed cut him off, clearly not having enough patience

"They're gone," He summed up for her with a small shrug

"Find them!" She shouted to the other agents. Her and the other agents walked into the house, but my ears started ringing and I hissed in pain

"Scarlett? Hey are you alright?" Davenport asked, I shook my head

"Ever since I got home I've just had a killer headache, and now my ears are ringing. Do you have any medicine?" I asked

"You know I've been working on a couple, since your body burned them so fast I've created a couple high strength ones, let's go test them," Davenport suggested

"You know, I just wanted to come home and rest. But now I got an entire bionic army to look out for."

"On the bright side at least your home and feeling better," Chase smiled, gently kissing my forehead

"Oh you know, just an average Tuesday."

Davenport, Leo, and I were down in the lab while they both tried these different serums to try and cure my headache

"Here, try this one," Davenport spoke, holding out a small cup to me

It was like my senses were on high alert, I smelt the thing an immediately gagged, "Why does it smell like that?"

"Just drink it! Hold your nose if you have to," Leo suggested, I rolled my eyes but plugged my nose closed and chugged the thing, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth

I waited a few minutes and then Davenport asked me, "Anything?"

I shook my head, "My heads still pounding."

"Maybe you should go back to the hospital," Leo suggested

"Not until we find that bionic army," I argued

Then Adam, Bree, and Chase came down into the lab, we all took notice of their appearance

Davenport asked them, "Any luck finding the army?"

"No. They could be anywhere." Bree replied.

Chase walked over to stand next to me and asked, "How's Scarlett? Does she still have a headache?"

"Sadly yes, none of my serums are working," Davenport replied

"Guys it's probably nothing. This happens all the time when superheroes come out of comas. It'll go away soon," I reassured, but even I didn't believe me, it felt like every passing second my headache got worse and worse, and my ears had this dull ringing that was so annoying

Suddenly, the monitor began to buzz from behind Davenport and then the President appeared on the monitor, which made him turn around

Davenport greeted, "Mr. President."

"Davenport, it's nice to see you," The President replied with a smile and glanced around the room before landing his eyes on me, "And Scarlett! I heard you were fighting for your life, it's good to see you looking better."

"Thank you sir," I replied, trying my best not to let him know anything was wrong

But then his smile went away and he became serious, "Where are those bionic soldiers."

"I honestly have no idea, sir," Davenport told him truthfully

But, of course, that's when the bionic army decided to geoleap back into the lab. I jumped slightly because I wasn't expecting forty kids to just appear around me. The President didn't look amused as Davenport sarcastically said to the bionic soldiers, "Way to make me look good, guys."

"I'm sending my agents to collect them," The President told Davenport, "You're responsible until they get there."

Then, Davenport tried to tell him, "Mr. President, these kids are harmless."

"We don't have proof of that," The President argued. But before anything else could be said, the ringing in my ears started to become louder, I hissed in pain as I held my hands over my ears

"Scarlett? What's wrong?" Leo asked

"I don't know! Everything's just... so loud!" I groaned, clutching my ears

"She's getting worse!" Davenport gasped

"Worse? She looked fine moments ago!" The President gasped

"Everyone please stop talking!" I cried, holding my ears tightly as I whimpered, my eyes squeezed shut

I suddenly felt nauseous, I stood from my chair as I slightly stumbled around the room, before stopping and opening my eyes, only to blink several times, everything was blurry again

"Scarlett? Talk to us!" Bree urged

"I-I can't see! I can't see!" I cried out, falling to my knees as it became harder to breath

"Look!" Leo suddenly shouted, I whimpered at the volume

"Her veins are turning black!"

"Night poison...." I coughed, the air suddenly become thicker, my lungs felt like they were being squeezed

"It must still be in her system! The coma she was in must have only delayed it!" Chase yelled

"What do we do?" Adam asked

"Call Sam!" Bree urged

"We might not have that kind of time!" Davenport yelled

I suddenly began to cough more as I tried to catch my breath, the ringing becoming to intense as I held my hands over my chest, and even through my blurry vision I could see a puff of black

"She's coughing up smoke!"

"We have to do something!"

I felt my body sway as I fully collapsed to the ground, the feeling of being paralyzed returning to me as everything was beginning to go dark

That's when suddenly I felt as though the energy of the Night Poison was being sucked out of me, and slowly every inch of pain that covered my body was beginning to fade

"What are they doing?" Bree asked

"Get away from her!" Chase exclaimed

"No!" Davenport said to Chase, "Let them do it."

As I began to regain my vision I noticed the lights in the lab began to flicker, and that's when I began to take notice of the energy being siphoned from my body

Only it wasn't my energy

"Davenport, what are they doing?" The President asked

Davenport answered, "They're saving my step-daughter's life."

Suddenly I felt something inside of me be ripped from me, I gasped deeply, sitting up quickly as now I was able to breath again, and I looked around to see a couple soldiers had surrounded me, and the girl who looked familiar to me was basically at the head

"Scarlett!" Chase gasped, rushing towards me as he helped me off the ground and pulled me into a hug, I hugged him back tightly, closing my eyes as I leaned against his chest

I was okay, I was here, and that was a miracle in itself

"Wait, so what just happened?" Bree asked

"I think I can answer that one, if I may," the girl who I fought back with Krane spoke, I broke off from Chase and turned to her

"You're the girl that injected me with Night Poison. You almost killed me," I pointed out, she frowned sadly

"I'm sorry. I... I don't recall injecting you. But I'm truly sorry if I was the one who cause you this pain, Night Poison is a very dangerous venom Krane acquired from Claire and TJ, specially designed for Scarlett, which is who I assume you are," she spoke

"Why me?"

"Krane saw you as the biggest threat, so he created a plan. If he could somehow get you to take a transfer of his energy, he could make the Night Poison ten times as powerful when it was injected into you."

"How is that possible?"

"Forgive me, I don't know the scientific terms he described. What I do know is he said whatever he used in the serum he concocted was extremely sensitive to heat, your body had almost enough but he needed to give you one final heat transfer to make it work," she explained

"His own," I muttered

"And how did he manage to do that?" Chase asked

"When I saved Davenport from Krane he was taunting me about Claire and TJ and the way that I fought. Knowing I relied more on myself than my powers, in a way I siphoned his ball of fire energy to prove a point..."

"When actually she was providing him the ability to strike her," the girl added

"So wait, how did you all save her then?" Davenport asked

"Yeah, wouldn't you then be infected with Night Poison as well?" Leo asked

"Well since it was evenly spread between the rest of us it has no effect. Besides, we aren't nearly as much of a heat source as Scarlett. Her light abilities are what drew her to Krane, she needed to be stopped if he wanted to win," she spoke, before she looked at me

She walked over to me with a frown, "I truly am sorry that I was the one who did this to you. I hope you know had I been in control I never would have used it on you, no one deserves any cruel treatment like that."

I glanced over her, she really was sorry, and something inside me wanted nothing more than to forgive her which was extremely odd, but I gave her a small smile, everyone deserves a second chance

"You've made up for it, you saved my life. All of you," I spoke, looking around at the soldiers with a smile, "Thank you."

"Mr. President, I think this is all the proof you'll need," Davenport spoke, referring to the fact of my survival because of the soldier

He hesitated before saying, "That was admirable... but I can't let these bionic kids roam free. I'm sending a transport to pick them up."

Chase immediately began to try to explain, "But sir, they're not-"

"It's okay." The girl assured him, cutting him off, "You've helped us as much as you can. It's time for us to go."

Then, she looked up at the President and promised, "We won't run this time."

When the agents arrived at the house to pick up the bionic soldiers, I immediately felt bad for them. They didn't deserve to be locked up. The only reason they did all of those bad things was because Krane was controlling them with the Triton App. We all watched in sadness as the agents cuffed the bionic army.

Suddenly, Adam ran back into the house, "Guys, I finally found where I buried my goldfish!"

He pulled out a fish bowl from behind his back, and it was filled up with dirt. Not even noticing the agents cuffing the bionic soldiers, he said, "Alright, people. Do your magic."

The agents just ignored him and started to lead the soldiers out the door, However, Davenport ran into the living room and said, "Stop! Nobody's going anywhere."

We all looked at him confused while Tasha walked over to him and said, "Donald, if you try to take on a team of federal agents again—"

"No, I have a solution," Davenport told everyone before walking to the middle of the living room to Adam, Bree, and Chase, "These kids have proven they can save lives and change the world. We already know what you three can do with your bionics. Just think what a hundred bionic kids could do."

"Aw, don't make me think. Just tell me," Adam whined while Bree and Chase rolled their eyes at him

Davenport continued, "With proper training and supervision, they could go on multiple missions, save thousands of lives," Then, he turned to Agent Reed and smirked, "And the President is already on board. I just got off the phone with him."

She gave him a look and began, "Hold on. I didn't get anything about a change in-" But she stopped when she got a notification on her phone, "Oh. Okay, you're good."

I just smiled satisfied as the agents left the house and released the bionic soldiers from the cuffs. Once the agents were gone, Chase said, "Well, Mr. Davenport, this all sounds great, but how are you supposed to train hundreds of bionic kids?"

Davenport just looked at him and said, "I'm not. We are. Since you're the first of your kind, you'll be their mentors."

The three of them looked at each other excitedly as Davenport continued, "You'll train them, socialize them, and introduce them to the world, just like Leo and Scarlett did with you."

"But unlike Leo, we'll do a good job," Adam said, Bree and Chase nodded their heads in agreement while Leo looked offended and I tried not to laugh

"Excuse me?" Leo asked them

"Don't act shocked. You've found us five friends in three years," Bree said, then she looked at me and said, "Scarlett's shown me a lot of useful stuff, including how to win the fight over the last pair of jeans at Hollister."

"It does come in handy," I smirked, "Where is all of this training going to happen? There's no way you can do all of this down in the lab."

Davenport grinned at me and said, "We're not. We're going it at the world's first 'Davenport Bionic Academy.'"

I couldn't help, but feel very excited for this idea. The bionic soldiers were going to get trained to be heroes, just like they should be. While Adam, Bree, Chase, and I grinned excitedly, Leo placed his arm on Davenport's shoulder

"I think you mean 'Davenport & Son Bionic Academy,'" Leo spoke

"And I think you're delusional," Davenport replied

The next day, Davenport had us all come down to the lab so he could show us the Bionic Academy. We were all very excited to see it because Davenport said it was going to be like paradise. I hope he's right because I really need a vacation

"Behold, the world's first bionic academy!" Davenport said. He turned on the lab monitor and revealed a picture of the bionic academy. It was a large building on an island with the Davenport logo right on the middle

"Wow!" Chase exclaimed, "Mr. Davenport, that place looks amazing."

"Yeah, it's a man-made island," He informed us as he began to show us more images of the academy, "Here's the combat training area. And the capsule dormitory. And the hydro-loop."

"What's a hydro-loop?" I asked him

Instead of getting an answer, I just heard Chase start laughing from beside me. As I gave him a look, he asked, "'What's a hydro-loop?' Oh, you."

I glared at him as I said, "Just because we're dating now doesn't mean I won't hit you."

"It's an ultra-modern high speed transport system that works like a pneumatic tube to and from the island. You hop in on one side and it spits you out on the mainland in minutes. That alone cost me fifty million dollars," Davenport explained

"Great. While you guys do that, I'll just fly to the island with Scarlett. She's faster and provides snacks," Leo spoke, Davenport looked at me weirdly

"It was either give him snacks or listen to him talk the entire time. What do you think I'd prefer?"

As the night continued on I sat in my room just drawing when Tasha came into my room, looking super excited and holding an envelope

"Hey, Tasha, what's up? And why do you look so excited?" I asked her as I put my pencil down and sat on the edge of my bed

"Somebody just got a letter from NYU in the mail," Tasha teasingly spoke, my heart leaped in excitement

"Wait seriously? Give me that!" I gasped, standing up and snatching the letter from her, staring at the letter

It was real, right now I was either holding my biggest dream or my greatest disappointment, nerves filled me up as I held the letter in my hands, not knowing what to do

"Scarlett honey, open it!" Tasha encouraged

"But... what if I didn't get in?" I spoke, she frowned slightly

"Honey, there is no possible way that happened!"

"But it's a possibility. Tasha, being able to create suits to protect the next generation of heroes has been what I wanted to do for ages now! What if they don't give me the chance?"

"Scarlett, you know better than anyone it takes courage to do what you love. And it is not the end of the world if you don't get in, you got accepted into to s of other schools!"

"But this is THE school Tasha. This will make or break me."

"Then I guess you have to open it Huh?" Tasha smirked, I gave her a look

I hate when she's right

I sighed before taking a deep breath, "Okay, here goes nothing."

I began to tear open the letter, reading the print before my jaw dropped

"Oh my god," I gasped

"What? What is it?!"

"I got in...." I mumbled

"You got in?!"

"I got in!" I shrieked, Tasha and I both happily squealed as we hugged each other

"Oh Scarlett I am so proud of you!"

"I did it! I actually did it!"

This was the greatest thing to happen in light of recent events, I could finally start doing what I loved

This would be a new chapter towards my future
