Then came December seventeenth,
When a huge thud echoed from upstairs, so keen.
They rushed to the sound, hearts filled with fear,
And found Dianne, teary-eyed, standing near.

The door behind her was closed tight,
Elara’s room, where something didn’t feel right.
Dianne’s voice trembled, her words unclear,
As worry and sorrow filled the air with fear.

They heard screaming from inside,
And in that moment, they knew something had gone awry.
"What happened, Mrs. Dawson?" Mavenn asked with dread,
"This is what I feared," she said, her voice filled with despair.

"She's getting worse," Dianne whispered, her hands trembling,
As the weight of the moment left her voice stammering.
The room felt heavy, the air thick with despair,
And Mavenn knew they had to act—time was running bare.

"Can we take a look, please?" Mavenn asked,
"I'm afraid she might hurt you," Dianne replied, quite aghast.
"Don't worry, we’ll be alright," said Mavenn with care,
"But—" she protested, yet was cut off mid-air.

Loreal grabbed Mavenn's bracelet, with a swift little flick,
It transformed into his sugar cane wand, quick as a trick.
With a swish, Dianne fell asleep, calm and still,
And that's when the two entered the room, against her will.

Inside, they saw Elara shouting,
A mess of papers, all strewn about, no doubt.
The two felt the heavy aura, dark and grim,
"This is one of my visions," Loreal said, her voice dim.

And so finally, Elara settled,
Tired and hyperventilating, her breath unsettled.
The two rushed towards her, hearts racing in fear,
When a dark smoke appeared, drawing near.

Its red eyes glowed, staring with might,
Before vanishing, fading from the light.
The air grew still, a silence profound,
As the dark presence was no longer around.

"Hush now, Elara, go to sleep for now,"
Said Loreal, as she swished the wand with a vow.
"What is that?" Mavenn asked with a start,
His heart racing, his mind falling apart.

She sighed deeply, her voice a quiet breath,
"It was a demon, Mavenn," she said, filled with depth.
And Mavenn stood frozen, completely stunned,
The weight of the truth leaving him undone.

"Then why am I here?" Mavenn asked, his voice full of fear,
"Is this what the elves' mission really is, bringing me here?"
"I'm afraid this demon just appeared, just now," said Loreal with a sigh,
"Perhaps it finally had the chance to carry out its plan, oh my."
₊˚ʚ 🌱 ₊˚✧ ゚. 🌿
"Now please don't be afraid," said Loreal with care,
"I believe Santa sent you here for a reason, to bear."
"To fail and fight the demon?" he asked with doubt,
"No," she replied, "because I know this is destiny, no doubt."

As night fell, the demon's presence returned,
With the household asleep, the two elves knew it was their turn.
They came to Elara, who was walking downstairs,
Her eyes filled with a red, ominous glare.

"Do you think you could stop me?" said the demon with Elara's voice,
"A desperate she-elf, trying to prove she's not just a choice.
That she's not invisible, nor pathetic in her plight,
That she’s capable of great things, shining bright."
₊˚ʚ 🌱 ₊˚✧ ゚. 🌿
"And here comes a boy who doesn't know his worth,
What we can truly call a pathetic soul on Earth.
Always in his comfort zone, what a coward indeed,
Doesn't care for others, just his own selfish need!"

Mavenn, with his temper running low,
Clenched his fist as magic began to flow.
He dashed toward Elara, her voice still loud,
"Stop it!" cried Loreal, as the demon laughed proud.

Mavenn's hand gripped tight, around her neck,
But Loreal held him back, as the demon wreaked havoc unchecked.

And so Mavenn snapped back to his senses,
Stepping back as Elara gasped for air, her breath in defenses.
"I'm so sorry!" he cried, horror in his voice,
"Oh, no, I understand," she whispered, "The spirit won’t leave me, no choice."

"How long has this been bothering you?" asked Loreal with care,
"Does your mother know?" she asked, her concern in the air.
"She's a doctor, a scientific woman," Elara replied with a sigh,
"Everything’s going to be fine," Loreal spoke, wiping her eye.

"Alright, I'll help you," said Mavenn with resolve,
"Thank you," Elara whispered, her troubles to dissolve.
"I'm sorry about what happened earlier, too," he added, handing her a cup,
"It's alright, it's really alright," she said, sipping it up.
