I
I'm sorry for the delay, but as promised, here's chapter 2. Enjoy! I apologize for any grammatical errors.
Sasuke and Hinata crossed the line from simple stangers to friendly acquaintances after a few nights together.
A couple of beers, hazy minds and an embarrassing misfortune, they found themselves on Sasuke's bed. But unlike any other night when they basked in the cold air breezing in from the open windows to cool their heated skin, they were sprawled like starfish from the exhaustion of talking for hours.
It was a month into their exotic adventures, on a long and peculiar night that they found themselves fumbling to take each others clothes off with clumsily hands.
Kissing messily under the dimmed lights, and high on lust, they struggled through open wet kisses unable to manuver themselves to the safety of any available furniture. Whether it be the couch, the counter or Sasuke's bed, didn't matter.
That night, to Hinata specifically, it suddenly felt too much all at once.
Her body was on fire from the touches Sasuke hands traveled upon. His hands roamed freely, without hesistation.
Hinata was instantly mesmerized by the feeling of Sasuke's lips on her skin. She tangled her hands skillfully in his hair, wrapping her legs around his waist with the dire need of needing him close to her.
She craved his heat.
She craved his lips on her thighs, inching closer to the place she grew shy at the thought of. She wanted his lips and tongue on her stomach, kissing their path to her breast. She sought for his lips to whisper those explict words against her neck and to swallow her moans with his own to ensure their nights stay a secret. She needed to remember the feeling of his thrust inside her, of his body rocking alongside hers in a despereate need. She loved his skin upon hers as they moved in sync to the sounds of Sasuke's neighboor piano piece that echoed through his walls.
She needed the feeling of coming undone by him and resting besides him as he pressed a lingering kiss to the corners of her mouth.
She wanted him to kiss her until her lips cracked and she forgot about the world in which Hinata Hyuga existed and only Hinata remained. In a world where Hinata only gave herself to Sasuke because she allowed him and because she wanted to. In this perfectly flawed world of hers, she was Hinata who acted on her desires, not her father, her cousin, her sister or her grandmother.
Hinata felt dizzy and disoriented. She felt too much and nothing at all. She craved her fantasties but the perplexing and lingering buzz of having a few cups of overdue liquor began to catch up to her.
Her head weight heavy under the pleasurable wants her heart sought for.
Sasuke pulled her close that night, holding her under questioning eyes as he silently asked for confirmation if she was alright. If she gave the green light, Hinata knew he would proceed as usual and kiss her senselessly until the night came to an end with bodies that laid aching. However, even after Hinata smiled reassuringly and whispered her confirmiration, Sasuke pulled apart.
"You seem disorientated." His voice is raspy and soothing. "We should call it a night." His breath carried the scent of liquor and mint.
That night, Hinata recalled as she stumbled upon her feet, trying to reach for Sasuke in his attempt to find her a glass of water. She held his hand tightly and with the little composure she had left pull him to her.
Their lips met with a painful bump of their teeths. She giggled silently and the liquor in her, let her seek his lips once more.
She kissed him.
And she felt his body loosen. Not a moment after, Sasuke pressed his tongue to the seam of her lips and Hinata opened up for him. It was a messy kiss with the strong scent of cheap liquor bought from a block away of Sasuke's apartment.
In that moment of that day, Hinata thought she reached a high she never thought she would. But in her inabilty to grasp her surroundings, in the pain of the lights that caused a strain to her eyes, and in her struggle for air, her world turned black.
She lived in the darkness in the deepest depths for what felt like hours.
Hours that were confirmed when she awoke hours later, in Sasuke's bed and his clothes. She was confused in her hungover state.
"You fainted." Sasuke's voice echoed loudly in Hinata's head.
"I'm-"
"Are you feeling better?" Having been located in the chair across the room, Sasuke moved closer. His hand moved above her forehead, leaning close before pulling back. Hinata knew he was given her the space she didn't ask for but the space he needed. "You're full of surprises, princess."
"Please, don't call me that. " Her head throbbed but throbbed in greater depth at the mention of his teasing nickname for her.
Sasuke chuckles. "Princess of the great Hyuga family. Well respected by the entire nation, admired by woman and desired by men." He didn't lean close until now. He hovers above her with both legs on her sides. Caressing her cheeks, he grins. A man with lust and prideful eyes remains before her.
"If only they knew what a vocal and sinful princess you are in my bed." His lips move to her neck, savoring her taste with delight. Enjoying the heartbeat that vibrates on her skin to his lips. "If only they knew Sasuke Uchiha gets to ravish you every other night."
Sasuke has always been prideful. In fact, prideful to a fault. He doesn't pull away before leaving proof on her skin under the whimpers of her soft approval that marked his words as true.
"I heard you'll be traveling abroad." Hinata hums, momentarily lost in the world of Sasuke's lips. She chases his warmth but stops when Sasuke removes himself from her and his bed.
"Family business. Nothing personal."
She smiles thinly. "I was just wondering if it was true. I didn't mean for it sound like I was asking for an explanation."
"I know." Sasuke sighs deeply, rubbing the hours of no sleep from his eyes. "I was planning on telling you. It wouldn't be nice of me to leave without a word and have you come knocking on my door when I'm not here."
"Thank you." Hinata's heart flutters, briefly.
"Don't thank me. It's common courtesy."
The room falls silent. The morning sun peaking through Sasuke's windows.
"I'll remember your lack of alcohol tolerance in the future."
Hinata blushes red at his words. A wave of embarrassment making itself visible to Sasuke's teasing eyes.
"I-I'm sorry. I don't usually-"
"Don't apologize." Sasuke blames his hazy mind and tired body for the inevitable itch to reach for Hinata. "Own up to it." To touch and caress her.
"O-Own up to it?" Confusingly, Hinata looks at Sasuke. The furrow of her eyebrows and the pout on her lips cuts Sasuke's restraint. His hand falls on the top of her head and he falls still with Hinata's flaming cheeks.
"Yes." He lightly ruffles her hair. "You're Hinata and you have no alcohol tolerance beyond a few cups of liquor. You're the bold and sleepy drunk." Sasuke smiles and blames it on his lack of sleep.
He blames his loose lips and his undeniable desire to stay close to Hinata despite the rising sun, on his restless night.
He blames his following actions of sitting in bed with Hinata and allowing himself to tease her, on his disoriented mind.
He blames his inability to stay silent and his willingness to hear Hinata speak about everything and nothing at all, on his tired body that wishes to stay close to the comfort of his bed.
"I should leave."
He blames his disappointment on his body that begins to confuse his "no's" to "yes" and his "wants" to "needs."
"You should." Sasuke bites down on his tongue as he studies Hinata in her attempt to gather her things. She adjusts her clothes and hair, walking shyly to his door when she collects her missing heel.
"Thank you." He knows her lips are eager to say more but she stops herself.
"Don't thank me Princess. My mother raised me to uphold chivarly standards. We may be fooling around, but I would never cross your boundaries."
Hinata smiles, wholeheartedly beautiful in Sasuke's eyes. "Your mother sounds lovely."
"She's never fails to persistently remind me of her presence in my life, but she is indeed."
Sasuke opens the door for her. "Take care."
"Thank you. Please, take care of yourself as well." Hinata walks past his door. Usually, and on any other day, Hinata would walk away without a turn. But today, as she warmly recalled Sasuke's words, she stopped to look at him once more.
She holds her breath. A familiar burn rises from her back, to the tip of her ears and to her cheeks. She wants to say something her mind can't process into words. It takes her a while to find the proper assemble of words but not the right one's.
But rather than not saying them and apologizing for wasting his time, she gifts him those proper words she deems good enough for today.
"Sasuke, I trust you."
And it kills her softly.

Her feelings come like a wave in the ocean. Something everyone on the shore saw coming, but caught her completely off guard as she found herself deep in the ocean.
Hinata should've expected the feelings when they arrived.
She should've thought more of her racing heart in Sasuke's presence as a symptom for her growing feelings rather than the high of good liquor.
But she should've especially noticed it on the day she fainted weeks ago and the aftermath of what his presence did to her heart.
Or the aftermath of his lack of presence when he left.
She should've noticed when she went from missing his touch to missing him.
The feelings she thought didn't exist, didn't go unnoticed to others.
Even Sasuke's neighbor noticed in her state of denial.
"You have a sparkle in your eyes when you're with him."
Hinata felt red. "He's a friend." She waits a moment before knocking softly on Sasuke's door.
"Take care of yourself." Hinata bites her lower lip. "Be careful of him."
"There's no reason-"
"People like him tend to hurt those around them, even when they don't intend to."
Hinata falls silent at his words, unable to think or say anything.
"He isn't going to hurt me." Instead, Hinata whispers words that she herself isn't positive will remain true.
Everyone hurts each other at some point in time, even friends. Or in their case, acquaintances.
"I'm not saying he'll want to."
It grows silent and Hinata begins to wonder if she should go back home instead. But, the she hears Sasuke on the other side of the door. She hears his footsteps come closer.
"He's a good kid, but he's been hurt far worse than you can ever imagine." Hinata feels a ugly twist in her heart at the image of a frown on Sasuke's lips. She frowns at the look of hurt on his tender features.
"Take care of him." He smiles sadly. "You seem to balance him in ways that no one has before."
Hinata frowns, aching to ask for more in depth answers. But she stays silent as soon as she hears Sasuke's door open.
"You know you don't have to knock, just come inside."
Sasuke's neighbor makes a hasty disappearance without another word, and Hinata feels a pull as she's ushered inside.
* * *
Like Sasuke's neighbor warned her, she should've been careful. If she had doubts, she should've stayed away and drawn a line between them. She should've left before she began to suffocate.
But maybe she was doomed to fall and drown. Maybe her destruction was the very moment she first laid eyes on Sasuke on that night at the bar.
But now it's too late.
It doesn't matter how many times she tries to run, or how many times she tries to pull away. It doesn't matter because she finds herself right where she started.
In Sasuke's apartment. In his bed with her body aching.
"You should leave." Sasuke whispers in the dark.
His words didn't hurt a few months prior. However, they started to hurt when the realization of her feelings began to suffocate her.
His words brought her pain when she knows they shouldn't.
"My friends are coming over. It would be best if they didn't see you. They can be-"
"Are you ashamed of me?" Hinata meant for her statement to come out as a teasing remark, but the hurt in her voice drowned off the jest.
"No. " Sasuke frowns. "I just don't want them to get the wrong idea. They're idiot's."
"And what's that wrong idea they could possibly get?" Hinata attempts to pass it off as a complete joke with an empty laugh but Sasuke sees past her.
He stares at Hinata who avoids his gaze but Sasuke can see the shimmering of her eyes that reflect a deep sadness. The sadness he's been trying to avoid. "The same idea I hope you're not getting."
His voice pleads her to pretend and hide the emotions he hates to see on her. The emotions he loathes.
However, Sasuke isn't a fool. He's suspected and has known but acted blind in the high of pleasure and wanting to keep it. And he hates himself for being selfish at the cost of someone's heart.
These past months have been nothing but great. They've been an easy and pleasurable escape. Hours of bliss and sensational nights.
But, the fragile illusion breaks.
Sasuke knows, if he doesn't walk away now, he won't do so in the future because it's Hinata.
"We should stop seeing each other." He knows it's too late, to say goodbye and stop the hurt. But he's always been a fool.
Hinata struggles to stay afloat. She struggles to breathe and Sasuke see her sink. He sees her drown in the ocean and he chooses to look away.
"Thank you." He ignores her because he should. "And I apologize."
"Have I- Is there something wrong? I'm sorry, I'm just confused. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable with-" Her lips tremble and Sasuke questions himself.
"Everything."
He stares at Hinata and memorize her features for the last time before parting ways with her.
"Everything is wrong."
