Chapter 13

Jenny's POV

I woke up to the loud noise of utensils coming from the kitchen. I looked to my side not to find Arjun besides me.

So, is he the source of the sound? But what is he doing in the kitchen?

I went to the kitchen and was dumbstruck by seeing the scene in front of me. Arjun was reading something from the tab and kneading in the bowl. But that's not what left me shocked, my most favorite part of the house was a total mess with flour, chocolate, milk and what not, all over the counter and on the floor.

"ARJUN!!!!" I almost shouted in annoyance. I won't mind anything else but no one can mess with my kitchen. I won't bare it at all. He was startled by my shouting for few seconds and looked up at me from the bowl with messy hair and flour stuck to his face and hair. I must admit he was looking so cute that I had an urge to pull his cheeks and ruffle his hairs. It almost melted my anger but I hid my smile and put my angry mask on, looking at him with a stern face.

"Oh, so you are awake." He smiled sheepishly at me.

"Would you bother to tell me what are you doing in my kitchen?" I asked him with a plain face folding my arms and anger visible in my voice.

"I'm making breakfast for my beautiful wifey, today." He said grinning at me. I rolled my eyes to that.

"Seriously? Did you even see the mess you have created?" I asked pointing my index finger at all the mess. He looked around him and rubbed his neck, the flour which was stuck to his hand was now all over his neck. I chuckled at him.

"Sorry. I just thought of making something for you." He said giving me his best puppy face and my smile widened looking at him. He always succeeds in making me smile no matter how much angry I'm on him. I went up to the counter and pulled his both cheeks.

"Aww... Why? Is there something special hubby?" I asked raising my eyebrow at him. I don't remember today being a special day. It's not my birthday or our anniversary. He went behind and placed his hands around my waist pulling me back, closer to him with his head resting on my shoulder.

"Well, I don't think I need any special day to make something for my wife. Every day is special with you." He whispered in my ear and planted a kiss on my neck. It made me giggle.

Aww... He is just too cute for words. I almost had a desire to pull him and kiss him hard. But I shrugged those thoughts away as we have work and I know that we won't just stop with a kiss. I elbowed him in the stomach.

"Really? But last time I remember you saying you want to kill me." I smiled a little as I reminded him of our fight last night. He pulled himself away and came to my sides with a frown on his face.

"Seriously Jenny? Here I was trying to be a little romantic." He said looking at me being grumpy and I smiled wide at him. He rolled his eyes and looked below at the counter. "When I try being romantic, you say these things and when I don't, you keep complaining." He murmured still looking at the counter. I shook my head a little and gave him a tight side hug.

"But still you married me." He chuckled to that.

"I love you." He said pulling away and placing a quick kiss on my lips. I smiled slyly and pushed him away.

"I'll make the breakfast. Go and clean up the mess. I'm not gonna spare you even if you act sweetly." He smiled at me and cleaned the flour off his hands.

"Last time I saw this kind of mess in my kitchen was when that Raghav got a brilliant idea of making food for everyone. God, I still remember we spent the entire day cleaning up the mess." I smiled as I remembered those good old days when Rohan and Raghav used to live in India. Those really were some amazing years. How much I wish them to come back. I miss both of them so much.

"By the way, talking about Raghav, Rohan called last night. You were in deep sleep so I didn't bother to wake you up." Arjun said taking me back from my thoughts and grabbing a piece of cloth for cleaning.

"What? Rohan called?" That came out a little louder than I thought as it's rare that Rohan calls. It's always Raghav or us that make a call.

"Yeah! I know. Pretty astonishing, huh?" Arjun said chuckling at my reaction.

"You should have woken me up. You jerk!" I said placing one hand on my hip and other on the counter, faking anger at him.

"That's fine, Jenny. Just call him later. Anyway, he is free now as he is on a break." He said shrugging his shoulder, casually.

"Yeah! I'm relieved. Finally, the case ended and Rohan won it. That asshole Eric. How dare he put those blames on Rohan. Did he think people are that dumb to believe it? Jerk! They should just terminate his contract now. He has already done enough damage." I said as I almost threw those messy utensils in the sink taking my anger for Eric out on them.

"Yeah, they will. Don't worry." Arjun said cleaning the counter.

"Yeah." I sighed a little and looked at Arjun, "By the way, what did he say? He is on break, right? So, can't he come here? Did you ask him?" I asked hopefully even though I know it was useless. Rohan will never agree to come here...

"Yes Jenny, I told him numerous times to come here but he just won't agree. Even Raghav tried his best but all in vain." He closed his eyes for a brief moment letting out a deep sigh and then looked at me. "You know, he won't come here unless he wants to. So, forcing him won't help either. Let him take his time."

"Yeah, I know Arjun. I know why he doesn't want to come to India. But it's been years. And he is still stuck there. He should move on now. I'm just worried about him." I said putting a clean pan on the burner.

"I know Jenny. But you know him. Let's just give him some more time. Don't force him. Sooner or later he has to face the reality." He said placing his hand on my head, assuring me with a smile. "And Oh yeah! I forgot to tell, I met Ahana a few days back. She said she wants to meet Rohan too but can't visit him in London. So, she was asking if he is going to come."

"Yeah, he should meet her at least. He hasn't met her ever since he left India. After facing her, at least things will get a little better for him."

"Hmm... Let's see. I have tried all the means, but he is just not interested. Maybe we can visit him later." Arjun said giving me an assuring smile.

"Yeah, that's fine too but it's high time, Arjun. If not now I don't know when. It's really important for him to face her, he should talk it out. It can help him get out of his past. You know, it's really hard to see him like this..." I said getting worried about Rohan.

"I know, Jenny... But you know him, it's useless. He will only come when he wants to." Arjun said getting lost in his thoughts, probably getting worried about Rohan. It's been years we have been seeing him suffer alone. And it's hard to watch him like this. I just hope he gathers the courage to face the reality and for once be truly happy.

"Anyway, leave it! Let's visit them there. I'm missing those two idiots just too much!" I said smiling and pulling Arjun out of his thoughts. Arjun looked at me and returned my smile.

As Rohan won't visit us anytime soon so it's better at least we can go and meet him there. Anyway, the place doesn't matter as long as we all are together. I just want to meet and talk to those two as past months were pretty hectic especially for Rohan. So, it will be a good change for him. It will help to ease his mind too.

"Me too." Arjun flashed me a wide smile.

"By the way, Arjun. Finish that work already else I'm not letting you go anywhere. Do you understand that?" I said with a stern face.

"Aye aye captain!" He said saluting me with a sheepish smile to which I let out a small laugh. He got back to cleaning again and I went on with making breakfast for us...

Arohi's POV

"What? No way!" Jenny talked into the phone in her hand, pressed against her ear.

We were in the café, just hanging out as according to Jenny we haven't met in so long and that 'so long' is by the way, just a couple of days. So, we needed to catch up on things that happened in these couple if days we didn't meet. Jenny was busy on the call while I was just sitting, waiting for her to end the call.

Jenny and I have become really close in just few weeks. We have been constantly hanging out together whenever we get even a little time off from our busy schedules. She is one crazy person to go around with. Even though we share nothing in common that didn't matter even once. In fact, I really enjoy her company. She is like my long-lost sister or soul mate as Arjun says. He even complains that she is spending most of the time with me lately than him.

"Can you move it to tomorrow?" She looked at me and gestured two with her fingers. I nodded at her.

"OK then. I'll talk to you later. Yeah bye." With that she cut the call. "That was Anjali." She said as she put the phone aside on the table and looked at me. Anjali is Jenny's manager.

"Oh... What was she saying?"

"She wanted me to attend some meeting tonight. Just regular stuff." She said shrugging her shoulder casually.

"So, you going?" I asked raising my brows at her as today was our day out.

"No ways!" She said flashing a smile at me as she picked her coffee mug, taking a sip from it. I was relieved to hear that. I have always felt relaxed with her and meeting her is like a stress buster for me. I don't know what it is but a good long talk with her leaves me in a good mood. I really wanted to spend some time with her so I wanted her to stay with me today.

"That's good then. You better not ditch me." I said giving her a glare.

"I won't ever, darling. I might ditch Arjun but not you." She said winking at me with a smile and I rolled my eyes at her. "Don't tell him though." She whispered at the end and I can't help but laugh.

"I know you won't ditch him for sure. Besides even if I tell him what is gonna change? You have the upper hand anyway. He is just too sweet for you." I said casually as I sipped my coffee. She threw a glare at my direction.

"Hey, don't you even say that. I'm not that controlling and he is not that sweet either."

"Oh! please Jenny, At least don't say that in front of me. I know you both too well to believe that."

"Why are you taking his side?" She said frowning at me.

"I'm not taking sides, Jenny. I'm just telling the facts. And what is this side taking and all? Aren't you two on the same side? So, it doesn't matter."

"You are really doing the talking girl. But I'm not buying that." She said as her expressions changed into playful one. "But seriously, I don't mind leaving Arjun for you. We should run away. Arjun can marry Rohan. Anyway, they do keep acting like they are a couple sometimes. I wonder if I got between them." She said as a small laugh escaped her lips and I can tell that she was picturizing them together, as couple. Even I chuckled at that thought.

"Oh god no! I'm really feeling bad for Arjun. Handling you alone is a tough task. And Rohan is worst than you. How will he manage?" I said dramatically to which she shot me a look. I was enjoying this way too much. At least now I have someone to annoy. Else it was only me always who was getting annoyed by people.

"Hey! I'm not that bad. At least I'm way better than Rohan." She snapped back and frowned at me again. I laughed at her.

"Whatever you say, girl. Besides Rohan isn't that bad." I shrugged my shoulders. Her frown was gone now and a smirk formed on her lips.

"Oh oh! Taking his side and all? Huh? What's going on Aro?" She asked grinning playfully and raising an eyebrow at me. Uh-oh! Why does it have to happen with me? Whenever I think I'm scoring in annoying someone, the game turns against me.

"Nothing!" I said trying to act coolly as I placed the coffee mug on the table.

"Then take my side for once, you bitch!" She said as she banged her hand on the table lightly crocking her eyebrows together. Thank God, she didn't get on with that topic. I inwardly sighed, feeling relieved.

"I'm not supporting anyone. Just telling the truth!" I again gave her a grin and she rolled her eyes at me.

"Idiot! I hate you so much."

"Yeah, I love you too." I winked at her and gave a sly smile. She smiled at me and blew me a kiss.

"So, how's your equation with Rohan?" She asked with little curiosity in her voice.

"I don't know. I'm not sure if we are that close. But somehow, we have come on good terms now. I never thought that to happen after our first encounter. But one thing I can tell is that I actually enjoy his company." I was trying to sound as cool as I can.

"It's actually great girl! I mean in Rohan's case at least. If he just talk to someone for 5 minutes without getting angry is itself a big deal. So from whatever I've heard from Raghav, you guys have really bonded well. Don't know what you did but it surely worked out." She said smiling mischievously at me and I tried to ignore her look.

"I didn't do anything. But actually, I was somewhat same you know. I never let people come close to me after Rahul's death. But I must agree he is worst. I don't know his reasons though." I said looking at the coffee mug in my hand.

"True that! But seems like you have changed him with yourself." I looked up at her and she gave me a small smile.

"I don't really know about him, Jenny. I can't tell. But I sure have changed because of him." I sighed zoning out to his thoughts. All these months, he never left my mind. It used to disturb me at first but now I'm used to it. In fact, now it's weird if I don't think about him every day.

"Oh, madam! Me too. Don't give him all the credit." I snapped me back from my thoughts and I laughed at her childish tactics. She sure was a little kid hiding herself in the grown-up body.

"Yes, you too meri maa! Happy now?" I gave her a smile and she grinned at me widely flashing her teeth.

"Super happy!"

"But I'm glad if he is changing as you say."

"Yeah, he has. Even though not that much but I sure did notice little change when I visited him last month." She said plainly looking at her mobile as one notification just popped up.

"Oh! you were there too. I thought just Arjun was there. But it's good you know. He needed people around him even though he will never admit that." I said as I looked at her face carefully to check if she is listening to me or not. She looked up from the mobile locking it and placing on the side again.

"Yes, that's true. It really does help. But he will never admit that."

"Hmm... Can I ask you why he is like that? I mean why is it so difficult for him to show his true feelings?" She was the third person to whom I was asking this question. I wasn't sure if she can tell me the whole story. And to be honest, I won't mind even if she doesn't. I asked just because I was getting curious and I just wanted to know something related to Rohan, if not everything. After meeting with Jenny and Arjun, I feel like I don't know him at all. And it's true! I don't know him at all!

But again, I'll be happiest if I get to hear it from him directly. In fact, I want to hear it from Rohan himself. He can tell me whenever he is ready. If he ever is...

"Well, there is a reason for it, Arohi. Everyone has a past. But some have a past that haunts them every day. And sadly, Rohan is one of them." She let out a deep sigh as worry was written all over her face.

"I hope he gets over it," I said in a low voice looking down then looked up at her again. "Anyway, Ben was saying there's still time before the album starts. So aren't they going to visit? It will be a good change for him."

"Yeah. I don't know. We did ask him to come over here but he denied. He doesn't like coming to India. He didn't come to India ever since he left for London."

"Because of that past thing?" I asked being curious

"Yeah..."

"Oh ok." I was not sure what to say further. "Anyway, where are we going now?"

"For a movie!" Her eyes flickered with excitement. Of course, as she is an actress and that is her most favorite thing.

"Really? I don't like watching movies." I said just to annoy her making a bored expression. She rolled her eyes.

"Oh please. Don't give me that lame excuses. Plus, you at least don't say that in front of me. And yeah! Get used to it now."

"Whatever you say, ma'am!" I said smiling widely at her. She chuckled.

"But the show is at 9.30 PM. So, we have so much time. We can do shopping till then. Let's go." She said getting up from her seat and I did the same as I followed her out of the café to our car.

************

"You must admit Arohi. It was one hella movie. I so enjoyed it. What about you?" Jenny said grinning widely being excited. I chuckled at her behavior. She sure acts like a kid. And I love that the most about her.

"It was actually good." I said genuinely with a smile looking ahead at the road as I was driving, "See I told ya! I so want to act in these kinda movies someday. I so love action movies." She said being in her own thoughts, ginning. I just gave her a smile.

We were heading towards Jenny's house now as I have to drop her there and then go back home. She insisted that I should stay at her house but I denied as I want to go home. It's not like I don't like staying at her place but it's just I like my own bed more. Besides my house is just a few minutes away from her house.

"Come inside else Arjun will yell at me for letting you go this late and not even inviting you inside. He doesn't know how much stubborn you are. So, talk to him before you go. And no, you are not going to deny that else I won't ever come to your house then." Jenny said as soon as I pulled over at her bungalow.

"OK. Granny Ma. Let's go. I guess Arjun has given you the correct name." I said as I got out of the car and joined her.

"Yeah, yeah! Arohi. what's gotten into you? You are just being offensive towards me nowadays."

"Nothing. I just like to annoy you." I said as we walked towards the door. Jenny just gave me a glare while ringing the bell and I gave her a wide smile in return.

"There you are, Jenny. I missed you." Arjun opened the door with a wide smile and came and hugged Jenny. I laughed looking at them while Jenny pushed Arjun away and pulled back.

"Yeah. Don't be cheesy, Arjun. You are never like this. What happened now?"

"Nothing, just expressing my love for you." He gave her a sheepish smile to which she rolled her eyes in annoyance. I smiled looking at them.

"Arohi. You are here too. That's good." Arjun tuning to look at me with a smile.

"See I told ya." Jenny said looking at me and then turned towards Arjun with a tired expression. "So, if you permit sir, can we come inside?"

"Oh yeah sure." Arjun said moving to side giving us space to enter inside.

"Actually, I'll leave. It's already late." I said as I was really tired and wanted to sleep now.

"Then stay here." Arjun said.

"I already did offer her that but she denied." Jenny said and let out a sigh of disappointment.

"Really. I'll leave." I gave them a wide assuring smile.

"OK, OK. Go home. But at least come inside. And then leave after sometime. It's not good to just leave from the door." Arjun said gesturing to me to come inside. I gave him a confused look.

Seriously! What happened to him? What is he talking about? It's not good? What? Why? I let out a sigh as I didn't want to argue further so I decided that I'll just go inside and leave in 5 minutes.

"OK." I said and followed Jenny inside as Arjun closed the door behind us.

We took few steps towards the living room when I stopped mid-track. My eyes widened in shock as I couldn't believe who was in front of me.

"OH MY GOD!" I heard Jenny shouting as both of her hands covered her mouth and her eyes widen in amusement.

My heart skipped a beat as soon as my eyes met those dark chocolate brown orbs. The world around me blurred out. His lips curved into a beautiful smile showing his cute dimples. He got up from his seat as he tucked his hands into his jeans pockets. I couldn't take my eyes off him. I stood there admiring his every move. He was looking gorgeous as ever even in his messy hair and overgrown beard which suffer from lack of proper attention. His face looked tired yet he didn't fail to give out those charming vibes.

I was dumbfounded, fixed to my position unable to do or think anything. I just kept staring at the guy standing right in front of me. I couldn't believe I was finally seeing him after almost three long months.

My exhaustion was long gone. What I felt at that moment was just a pure bliss. I've never experienced this state of feeling in my entire life till now! And in that very moment, I realized how much I have missed this guy standing right there, in front of me, who is totally unaware of how much he has disturbed me with his distance, how much he has been on my mind, how much sleepless nights I've spent in his thoughts, how much I have missed his teasing, his famous smirk, and his touch... He doesn't have any idea how much I wanted to see his face for just once.

I was so overwhelmed with all these feelings I was feeling right now that I had an urge to just hug him tight and not let him go ever again. But I just stood there, looking at him as my eyes started filling with tears of bliss, which I blinked back in an attempt to prevent it from falling.

Once again, his chocolate brown eyes found my hazel orbs, those butterflies which I thought were long lost, came back alive, once again. He stood there in a distance, close yet too far, with a grin playing on his lips while I found my reason to smile...

Their eyes met, and in an instant,
with an unexplainable, only half
conscious rush of emotion, they
were in perfect communication.
