Luke was now 14 years old, the boy grew up happily and and everything he needed. Everyone looked up to the small boy, knowing he would be a loyal king someday. The blond walked down the halls, greeting maids as he walked by. He reached the entrance where is parents and some guards were waiting for him.

It was the first time he was going out of the castle all by himself. His plans were to explore the fields in the Pride lands and just have fun on his first time alone. The other times he was with his parents or a guard which meant he had to do whatever they wanted and had no freedom but this time, this time he was free to do whatever he wanted. It made him excited to go out, maybe he could meet a friend.

"He's so grown up!" a maid said, cooing.

"Luke is so beautiful." another one said.

Luke nodded and waved at the people as he passed until he ran past his father. The ban pulled him back by the collar of his shirt and chuckled when Luke groaned. He messed his son's hair, making him pout and try to fix it. Liz helped him and smiled at her youngest son, kissing his forehead. She walked away to meet the majordomo, who took care of the arrangements and usually spoke.

"Where do you think you're going?" Andrew said, smiling.

"I'm going out dad! Remember? Today is my first time going alone." Luke said and smiled, looking at the wind moving the leaves as his father talked about something.

He knew what it was already. The rules about going out alone, where he should go and where he shouldn't.

"Luke are you listening to me?" Andrew asked, his son paying attention to him "Anything can happen! I just want you to be safe. You could be kidnapped, get-"

"-get hurt or even lost." Luke finishes it for him, corssing his arms to show he knows what his father is talking about.

"And remember, I want you to stay-"

"-inside the lands, I know." Luke says, walking slowly past his father and reciting the rules "And if I see strangers, I don't talk to them, I come home right away. Okay now I know it all, can I go dad? Please?"

Andrew laughed "Very funny."

Liz joined in, chuckling at her family's conversation "Listen to your father Luke."

Luke giggled at his mom, hugging her. The woman smiled and ran her hand through her son's back, running her fingers through his hair. The boy had a strong relationship with his mother, some even said he was momma's boy and well- it was kind of true. He just really appareciates everything she has done to take care of him.

"And stay away from the Outlands." Andrew said and Christopher, the majordomo, joined the conversation too.

"There is nothing in there besides a bunch of backstabbing, murderous Outsiders!" Christopher said, making Luke shiver slightly.

"He's right, don't turn your back on them. They might do something bad." Andrew said, watching as his son let go of his mother.

"Why would they?"

"You'll understand some day. Now go." Andrew said, watching as Luke's face lit up when the guards opened the gates. The fourteen year old ran outside without caring about his father's warnings and him repeating the rules.

He walked through the yellow fields, all of them were covered in pretty colours. It was a mix between yellow, brown and some areas were even green. The blue from the sky fell into the horizon. Luke looked back and saw he was even more distant from the lands than a few minutes ago but he honestly didn't care.

A bird collided into him, staring at Luke and cocking his head to the sides. Luke giggled and started following him as it flew away. He chased te bird until he flew higher which meant Luke couldn't catch him anymore. Luke pouted, sitting in the rock and looking at the view to the kingdom. Everything looked so beautiful - the castle was white and blue, it was on a hill while the houses were a bit down. All of them were white with red roofs, it stood out in the middle of nowhere.

Luke turned around and saw a darker side. The lands were brown and a few houses were around a small lake. the houses seemed poor and the lake was dry, the trees he could see were also dry and the place was awful - it had no life nor happiness, it crushed Luke's heart. He remembered that maybe it was what his father talked about, the Outlands where the marginals were.

Even with all the stories he still wants to go there. Even if it looks unhappy and destroyed he still feels the need to explore that, it seemed kind of cool. It was mysterious and a whole new land to discover, completely different from what he was so used to see. They never told him why people went there, they always said he would understand one day. But why not today? Why not now?

The Outlands, Luke thought, I wonder what there is in there!

He heard sticks breaking behind him. A few rustling on the grass along with steps. He was prepared to attack, raising his fists. He was a short lanky boy and the only fight he watched was the wrestlers on TV and honestly? He wasn't really into it, his brothers were so he forced himself to watch it with them.

The rustling kept going, until a figured appeared suddenly. The person screamed appeared so suddenly that Luke started screaming and walking backwards, as the two teenage boys screamed in fear too. He fell off of the rock, hit back hitting the ground making him groan at the slight pain. Luke heard little squeals and soon the coloured-hair boy was climbing on the rock.

"Don't worry little Lukey, uncle Michael is coming!" and then Luke opened his eyes when Michael fell on top of him making the boy stay in the ground, not letting out a sound.

"Oh God, oh no." Calum said, talking to himself "So, Andrew, we did find your son! He was happy and safe but I have some bad news - a weirdo who dyes is hair fell on top of him and killed him. Is there a problem?"

"Get off." Luke tried to say but it came out as a whisper, Michael still sitting on Luke's stomach.

"I think he's fine, his stomach is working. He might have some gas going around in there, do you think he needs some pills to poop?" Michael asked his friend, still oblivious that Luke wasn't able to breath.

"Mikey, do me a favour honey," Calum said, lovingly and then raising his voice "get your ass off of the damn child!"

Michael looked down and got out off the blond. He helped Luke get up and patted his back to help with the pain, which didn't work but Luke thought it was a nice gesture. Calum joined them on the side of the rock, touching his face and hair.

"Do you have any scar? Less eyelashes? A broken nail? They grow again but not quickly, Andrew would kill us!" Calum said, worrying and slapping Michael's shoulder who walked away from him "Why did you even sit on top of him?"

"My brothers used to do that!"

"You're sixteen Michael, get over your childhood!" Calum said, sighing and turning to Luke while Michael watched them with a smile "Are you okay? Do you need anything?"

"Ugh Calum! I need you to leave me alone, guys." Luke said, pouting.

"What? I had a broken nail once."

"It hurts." Michael completed him.

A shadow fell over Luke's head and he looked beside him, seeing Calum holding an umbrella over his head. He pushed the umbrella away and groaned, looking away and crossing his arms. He may be acting too cocky but it was pissing him off.

"You have such a pale skin, don't walk in the sun with no sunscreen! Do you want to have wrinkles or something?" Calum asked, putting his hands on his hips.

Luke groaned, rubbing his hands on his face "But can someone just listen to me?"

Michael and Calum got out of the staring contest they were having, looking at Luke and smiling "Sorry my prince, you were saying?"

Luke groaned, frowning "I'm not just a prince! That's half of me."

"Well, who's the other half?" Michael asked with a smile, making Luke look down.

He didn't know who the other half of him was, he still wanted to figure it out. He was just tired of being called a prince and people saying he would be a king - he didn't want to be a king, it seemed so boring. All duty and stuff, he wants to have fun.

"Well, while you try to figure out who you fully are let's eat!" Calum said, taking a bar of white chocolates out of the bag he was carrying.

"Ew, no." Luke said, he hates white chocolate.

"Well, okay. What about you, Orangee?" Calum asked Michael, mentioning the colour of his hair.

"Don't like it, love it" They said, Michael taking a bunch of chocolate and spitting it out right away.

"I hate it when you do that!"

"I like them creamy, Calum!"

"Creamy? Crunchy are better."

"Creamy!"

"Crunchy!"

Luke saw them arguing about a silly thing and took the opportunity to run away. He started walking away quietly so they wouldn't hear him and succeeded, giggling when he was far away enough that they didn't hear him. He started walking further from the kingdom, not caring about the lecture he would receive if his parents found out.

Luke was looking around when he fell into a hill, knocking something over when he reached the bottom. He needs to pay more attention to where he is or it's going to get him killed sometime, he doesn't want to die so young. He loves life.

"Watch where you're going!" a person said, Luke opened his eyes and got up quickly.

The boy was looking at him with dark hazel eyes. His skin was tanned and the hair was curly, the colour being a dirty blonde. He seemed to be at least sixteen, his clothes were a bit ripped off but good enough to wear - it even seemed cool. Luke thought he was... handsome, very handsome. He felt awkwardly attracted to him which was weird since he never felt so attracted to anyone, not even a girl.

"Who are you, Pridelander?" The boy asked, rage on his voice. It reminded Luke of a lion.

Luke started walking to both sides, the boy blocking his way. He wanted to go away and the exit was right behind the boy. He was scared, what if something happened? What if he got hurt, how would he even explain to his father? He just wants some help but at the same time he wants to get himself out of the situation alone.

The boy suddenly stops, making Luke stop too. He doesn't even know why he stopped, he just got lost in the teen's eyes.

"What are you doing?" the hazel-eyed boy asked, curiosity taking the best of him.

"My dad tells me to never turn my back on an outsider!" Luke said, trying to walk away but the boy laughing made him stop.

"And you always do what daddy says don't you?" the boy asked, mocking Luke "I bet you're daddy's little boy!"

"I'm not!" Luke said back, he felt like laughing but it would not be appropriate.

"Bet you are, daddy's little boy so good for him, he does what daddy says!" the teen said, laughing and walking through the logs across the river "An Outsider doesn't need anyone, I take care of myself. My name is Ashton."

Luke awed, following the boy "Really? That's so cool! I'm Luke."

The hazel-eyed boy looked back at the blond with a smirk, it soon fading when he saw a crocodile behind Luke, the animal's mouth open to eat the small lanky boy. Ashton grabbed the boy's arm and pulled him close to himself, the blond gasping at the sight of the crocodile.

"Be careful!" Luke exclaimed, seeing a crocodile behind them.

They jumped from rock to rock, holding on to every brench they found. Luke jumped into the green grass, wondering why Ashton didn't follow him. He went back to the cliff and saw Ashton hanging from a brench and looking down at the crocodiles that were trying to climb. Luke extended his hand and Ashton looked at it, wondering if he should grab it.

"Please trust me." Luke said.

Ashton pursed his lips and nodded, grabbing Luke's hand. Ashton decided to trust the blond because after all, he would choose living than dying. The blond helped him climb to the healthy lands and they layed on the ground, trying to gain their breaths. Ashton sat up, looking down at the crocodiles and throwing small rocks at them along with Luke. They giggled, walking away from the cliff to a safe spot.

"We did it!" Luke exclaimed, jumping while Ashton stared at him with a smile. "Did you see the size of those teeth? They were all 'I'm going to eat you alive, human' and we were like 'nuhuh'!We make such a good team! And you..." Luke awed, staring at the sandy blond with a loving smile "you were so brave."

Ashton looked down and blushed, looking up at Luke with a smile. He didn't do this often, usually people were scared to talk with him since he was oh-so-important where he lived.

"Yeah... you were amazing. I don't think we had a good introduction down there, my name is Ashton." he said, smiling.

Luke blushed, getting closer to Ashton "I'm Luke."
