"So, how do we make you become deviant?" Seán asked while stroking his beard as he sat on the arm of the couch, watching me as I helplessly shrugged in response.

Seán looked over at Evelien for help, the Dutch appearing as confused as I felt while Seán let out a reluctant sigh.

"I think I have an idea, it's worked with some other androids that I've freed." Seán murmured thoughtfully as he stood up, abruptly pushing me with enough force to cause me to fall down onto the ground.

"What the-"

"Don't fight back." Seán interrupted me sternly with a tinge of heartbreak in his voice as he rolled his neck, the bones softly popping in response.

"What the hell are you doing?" Evelien blurted as she moved to help me up, Seán motioning for her to stay back as he picked me up by the collar of my shirt and threw me across the room to slam into the wall.

"No!" Evelien cried, the tone of her voice sending a wave of memories crashing over me that rendered me useless.

"No!"

A doctor that looked similar to me was standing over me, his eyes shining with desperation as he scooped me up in his arms bridal style.

"Henrik..." I murmured feebly, the countdown for my imminent shutdown ticking in the corner of my vision while blue blood trailed down the side of my head where I had shot myself.

"Vhy did you do zhis? You are mein friend." Schneep whispered remorsefully, kicking the gun on the floor away as he walked towards the door.

"Stacy...she doesn't want me. I'm defective, aren't I?" I whimpered, tears welling in my eyes.

"No...she is zhe one zhat is defective." Schneep azures me as he carried me to the hospital he worked at, my eyes fluttering shut.

"I miss...the kids." I admitted as I fought to cling to the last shred of life I had left in me, my head wound caused by the gun painless in comparison to the wound in my heart caused by Stacy's words that still echoed in my head like a broken record.

"Hold on Chase, you're going to be okay." Schneep promised as my organs started shutting down one by one.

"Just hold on."

"Chase?"

Seán's voice brought me back to reality as I scrambled to my feet, unsure of what to do now that I remembered everything before I was reset to be sold again.

"G-get away from me!" I stammered as my stress level began climbing at a fast rate, retreating away from the pair.

"Seán, what did you do?!" Evelien hissed as a sob escaped my throat, my body shaking as images of my suicide attempt flashed through my mind.

"I think I triggered something else in him." Seán mused with concern shining in his eyes, watching me from the couch as I fought to calm down.

"Are you deviant now?" Seán prompted hopefully, my head nodding absent mindlessly in response.

"I..I remember everything. Schneep, Bro Average, the kids...Stacy." I replied quietly, swallowing hard.

"Then I need to tell you something." Seán stated grimly as he motioned for me to sit beside him.

I shook my head as I paced around the room, Seán letting out a weary sigh before standing up and placing a hand on my shoulder to stop me.

"I have a safe place you can go to, it's in LA so no one suspects that I am the one freeing androids. I can give you the key to the safe place, but that's all I can do for you." Seán explained apologetically, pressing a small brass key into my hand.

I nodded in appreciation as I let the information soak in while my fingers curled around the key , my mind still whirling as I walked hesitantly towards the door.

"And Chase?" Seán added, causing me to glance over my shoulder at the Irishman as he smiled sadly at me with Evelien standing at his side.

"Be careful out there bud."

With that, I turned back towards the door and strode outside to keep from going back on my decision, gripping the key tightly as I tried to think of where to go next.

It wasn't long until I passed by a shut down amusement park near the Brighton Pier, the shops destroyed by looters years ago with the  rides decaying due to rust.

"Well, it's better than nothing until I find a way to get to LA." I sighed as I nimbly climbed the fence and leapt over, scanning the area for signs of danger.
