~°The Harbinger°~
Jungkook POV
The petrichor filled my surroundings.
People say that the scent of the soil after rains is so addicting and tempting. With the same old curiosity I leaned on my window only to be blessed with a precious view.
Children playing around in the puddles, splashing and giggling loudly.
Children
Many become old and wish to become a child again. Well it is not wrong, is it? Living the life of a child gives us freedom from so many things which rather seem attrocious to an adult. It is such an easy escape from the reality.
From all what I have experienced I have learnt one thing the most and that is never consider childhood naive and immature. Children often find the simplest solutions to the most complicated problems of life. Why?
Cause they are simple and view the entire world as their home where there is nothing they can't feel .
No child is born with a key in one hand, a torn cap on the head, a degree in a hand or a bloody past.
Be it be anyone, we are born as those beings whose shrill cry deafens the people around. The shrill cry is often taken as a euphoric feeling of someone's arrival but it is also a cry to warn the world and to curse those who think they are going to stay still.
There was only one thing that scared me the most and that was to see my own reflection. You might think that I should be scared of mirrors too but no it's these puddles that scare me. They are everywhere in the streets. You escape one and there is another one waiting for you. They hide the depth of the holes and make it seem fun when in reality if you step in any one of them there are chances you might end up in the drain.
A peculiar reality where we end up in situations without knowing their consequences.
I grew with such differences. Grew up with a perfect family but a horrible past.
Confused...well let me take you to the journey of my childhood.
*Flashback*
Flowers decorated the prairies as a beautiful Crystal River gushed through it. The nightangles, the hummingbirds and the sparrows moved around cooing and chirping at a small boy who laid between the daffodils near a small cottage house.
The boy was enjoying the scent of the flowers and distant humming of the birds but was interrupted with a shrill sound in the sky.
All the birds flocked away from the boy and hid behind the bushes and the leaves as they saw a black.crow darting towards the small boy.
However the boy was intrigued on the other hand. He moved a bit away and allowed the crow to settle down next to him. He petted his head as it produced more and more noises of pleasure and content which somebody might have got annoyed with. But no, this said little boy with chubby cheeks, a round nose with doe eyes sat felt blissful for letting a bird he hadn't seen in his entire life.
This small little acts made Kookie feel valuable as if there was somebody who trusts him enough to let him touch it.
Just as he was about to kiss the crow on its head a small boy came running towards him from the woods and pounced upon him.
Kookie squeaked and tried to push the boy off but he was caught off guard when the crow came and started attacking the boy.
He was even more surprised that the boy's one grunt was enough for the crow to stop.
The boy, Jimin snarled at him, "Why do you have this crow? Did you hurt it?"
Kookie just blinked his eyes and said softly, "I didn't do anything as for to hurt the little creature."
His eyes then moved towards the wound and be walked up to him and said, "Come on, you are hurt. We need to treat it."
But Jimin backed out and barked, "How can I come with you? You are a stranger, you can hurt me."
Kookie softly said, "Don't worry, hyung said that not everyone hurts you. If you believe in the truth then you can easily stand for yourself and heal cause you are away from the shadows."
Jimin's stern expression softened and melted into a small smile,"You are right."
With that he extended his hand and allowed the small boy to nurse it.
Kookie beamed and took hold of his hand in his tiny fingers and wrapped the wound with his red handkerchief.
With curiosity beaming in his eyes Jimin asked, "Why would you you let the crow?"
Kookie frowned,"Why,?all I know is it wanted to be petted and I felt bad when it stood on the branch alone near the river."
Jimin smiled and said, "Once again, I learnt something from a child. Thank you umm?"
Kookie laughed, "I am Jungkook, Jeon Jungkook"
Jimin smiled backed and said,"I am Park Jimin."
"I will call you ChimChim"
Jimin laughed heartily, "Okay, Kookie."
Both of them were a giggling mess by then and kept playing till that happened.
Jimin approached jungkook and asked him what he wanted to become. And when he came to know that Kookie wanted to become a lawyer. He was surprised as he also wanted to become one.
Smiling, he approached Kookie and tucked a red rose behind his ear to which Kookie blushed and smiled his popular bunny smile.
He also plucked a purple flower nearby and pinned it on Jimin's shirt.
Both were staring each other with so much fondness and that's when it happened...
Bang
*Flashback ends*
End of POV
Jungkook wiped the lone tear which escaped his eyes and once again glanced at the invitation nearby.
"We meet again Park Jimin."
