"Come on." Derek said, motioning with his hands for Selene to follow him. He had dragged her out of bed. While she wasn't asleep, she was... cosy and now she was mad.
"Where we going?" She followed him.
"There has been an attack. We need to show Scott." Derek explained while she followed.
"Then why are you so happy about it?" She teased. She knew Derek wasn't happy. He never was. Derek rolled his eyes in response. She got her phone out and began to text Scott asking him to meet them. Derek looked at her disapprovingly,
"What? I have his number. It means we can save some time rather then turn up at his house. Remember, he tends not to like it when we do that."
"Fine." Derek mumbled. Selene smiled as she walked and texted at the same time.

As asked, Scott met them on the roof of the video shop. There was a large red symbol drawn on the top. The symbol of revenge.
"Starting to get it?" Derek said to Scott who looked slightly in shock. Selene looked around ensuring nobody saw them stood there. This was the third crime scene he had been to in a month and it was a pattern he wasn't liking.

"I get that he's killing people, but I don't get why. I mean, this isn't standard practice, right? We don't go out in the middle of the night murdering everyone, do we?" Scott was getting a bit worried about what could be in his future. Selene smiled reassuringly at the boy.
"No. We're predators. We don't have to be killers." Derek clarified.
"Then why is he a killer?"
"That's what we're gonna find out." Derek was determined. Selene looked over the edge and saw the place flooded with Police. Although one person stood out from the rest. Stiles. As Derek and Scott walked away she walked to the side of the building to jump down without being caught.

"Stiles!" She beamed while walking towards him. He jumped slightly in shock, not seeing or hearing come closer to him. Since the night of Derek being poisoned by the bullet the two had become closer. They had bonded over many things on the ride home. Star Wars, hatred of school and the loss of family.
"Selene." He responded looking uncomfortable while he looked between her and his father who was curiously looking at them both. The Sheriff walked closer to the pair.

"Is there something going on here?" The Sheriff asked pointing to the two of them smiling.
"Pfff, no." Stiles said. "Why would you say that dad?" His voice getting higher as the sentence went on and his cheeks getting redder.
"She came to our house a couple of weeks ago and now she is here. Talking to you... Happily." He deduced. "You don't have many friends who just so happen to be female. Also your face is going redder than a tomato." This only somehow made Stiles' face even redder. Selene agreed that this was an embarrassing situation but there was something adorable about Stiles' reaction.

"She's friends with Jackson and Lydia!" Stiles thought quickly. The Sheriff narrowed his eyes.
"You can tell me if there is. Anything going on I mean."
"There isn't sir. I swear these things are just a coincidence." Selene nodded with a tight smile. He made a sound in his throat which symbolized he didn't believe them before he walked away.

"What are you doing here Stiles?" She enquired, this was not a place for a human. This was especially proven by the fact Jackson and Lydia were currently in the back of ambulances getting their statements taken.
"My dad is the Sheriff, there has been a murder." He said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world "What are you doing here!"
"Wolf stuff." She said raising her eyebrows.
"Wolf stuff." He repeated with a sarcastic nod. "What kind of wolf stuff?" He stopped nodding and stepped closer.
"Come closer." She whispered. "It's a secret." He stepped even closer and leaned his head down. She stood on her tip toes to reach his ear. "Your dad's watching." She grinned as she walked away leaving Stiles with his dad and probably a thousand questions.
----------------------

The next day was parent teacher conference day. Selene didn't have a parent. Sad but true. She only had a Derek. Did he count? It didn't matter anyway. She hadn't been there long enough to have a conference about. What would the teachers say? "Well done for making it through these two weeks." Then again given the events of the past two weeks she may need that. But no, Derek won't be going tonight.

Selene sat next to Stiles in Chemistry as Scott was nowhere to be seen. He wasn't giving much of a conversation as he was highlighting everything in his book.
"Everyone, start reading Chapter Nine. Mr. Stilinski. Try putting the highlighter down between paragraphs. It's chemistry, not a colouring book." Mr Harris commented. Stiles spat the pen lid from his mouth and caught it. Selene's mouth dropped. Impressive. For someone who had no coordination that was a very good catch.

He noticed that she was looking at him with a wide mouth and he winked at her. Her eyes widened and she buried her head in her book absorbing all of the information she could about Chemistry. She was blushing. Why was she blushing? A boy had never made her blush before. Well she hadn't met many boys recently. He had just caught her off guard.

"Do you find me attractive?" She heard him asking Danny. 'Yes' She thought to herself. She screamed in her head! Where did that come from! No. No. No! Nothing of the sort. She tried to get her head further in the book but She couldn't.

"Miss Violet. While I encourage enthusiasm. Having your face that close to the book won't mean you'll learn any faster." Mr Harris said to her. She moaned slightly in discomfort. She removed her face from the book and tried to read it but she couldn't. Her mind was racing a million miles a second. She still didn't have an answer to why Stiles made her feel the way he did. She knew it had to be something to do with the supernatural but she didn't feel like she could talk about it with Derek. The thought of it made her embarrassed. Not out of shame, but because she was worried that Derek may tease her in the way that family members do. She was reminded of how the Sheriff acted last night and suddenly she felt bad for laughing. She was only beginning to understand why Stiles went so red.
----------------

Selene was wandering the school alone when someone made her jump from her skin.
"You always need to be prepared. Isn't that what Laura taught you?" Derek scolded.
"I'm sure I'll be safe. I'm at School! Who would attack a school? Anyway, what are you doing here? I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to be on campus grounds.
"I'm here to talk to Jackson."
"You might not get anything from him. He's shaken up. He's being eerily quiet today."
"I'm going to try anyway. Do you know where he is?"
"Probably the boys locker room." And before anything else could be said Derek was off. She watched him walk away leaving her alone in the hallway, that was quick.

On her way home her phone began to ring. She answered from her hands off option on her car. "Hello." She greeted.
"Can you come over?" Stiles' voice filled the car. "I think I've found something."
"Sure." She shrugged before realizing no one could see her. Stiles hung up. "Okay then." She muttered to herself. "Good talk." She pulled up outside Stiles' house and knocked on the door waiting to be let in.

"What have you found?" She asked when the boy finally let her in. He placed a finger to his lips and pointed to the living room where she could only assume his dad was sitting. Probably listening for any misdeeds. He slowly led her to his bedroom where he showed her a picture on his phone. It was the Alpha. "Stiles this is great!" she exclaimed. "Where did you get it?"
"I found it on Lydia's phone." He said rather proud of himself.
"But she wasn't in today?" Selene was confused. How could he have gotten it.
"I went to her house." He answered as if it were the most obvious answer.
"Oh. Was she ok?" She tried her best to make her disappointment unknown. She knew Stiles liked Lydia so it would be for the best that Selene killed any emotion she felt for the boy now before it becomes serious.

"She was high." He snorted, chuckling at the memory.
"Please tell me I'm gonna hear good news at this parent/teacher thing tonight" Mr Stilinski said poking his head though the door. He noticed Selene on the bed and raised his eyebrows and smirked.
"Ahhhh." Stiles said, "Depends on how you define good news."
"I define it as you getting straight A's with no behavioral issues." The Sheriff offered.
"You might wanna rethink that definition" Stiles winced. The Sheriff laughed slightly at his son.
"Will you be there Selene?" The Sheriff moved the conversation to the girl he was seeing more and more of.
"No, Derek and I agreed it might be a waste of time for everyone involved since I've been there for less than a month. I haven't really done anything good or bad... yet." She added with a smile. The Sheriff nodded with a laugh.
"I understand." He paused. "You two have fun." He smiled wickedly before closing the door and leaving an awkward tension between the pair.
-------------
Selene was on her way home when her phone began to buzz wildly. Once again she left it to the hands free option.
"Hey Derek, whats up?" She asked.
"You can't go home." He said breathlessly. "Not yet and not now. Kate Argent was there. She shot the place up looking for me. Its not safe for you to be there. For either of us. You need to find a place to stay, to lay low for a while." Derek explained. Selene groaned.

"Okay, thanks for letting me know. You're okay though right? We don't need to chop off any limbs?" she could have sworn she heard a small laugh coming from the other side of the speaker. But she could have been wrong.
"I'm okay and I'll be a lot better knowing that you are too. Text me when you find somewhere." And he hung up. Selene pulled her car over to the side of the road. Where could she stay? Allison's place was obviously not a good idea. Her Aunt was the whole reason why she couldn't go home in the first place! She didn't want to turn around and go back to Stiles' home. Her staying over would only fuel the suspicions and questions of the Sheriff. Lydia was as high as a kite. That left only one person... Oh he was going to kill her.

She pulled up outside of his house and knocked on the door. It was rather late. Maybe it would have been easier to find a tree somewhere. The door opened slightly revealing the face of a woman.
"Hello Mrs McCall." Selene said with the sweetest smile she could conger. The woman shook her head with a smile of her own.
"Sorry, who are you?" She tried not to sound offensive.
"I'm Selene Violet. A friend of Scott's." The second Scott heard his name he rushed to the door and was confused at the girl stood there.
"Selene, what are you doing here?" Selene looked down at her feet and shuffled them slightly.
"I wouldn't normally intrude like this and especially at this hour. But Derek isn't home at the moment and being alone in that old burnt house is scary." She lied.

"Oh honey." Mrs McCall gasped pulling the girl into her house, her motherly instincts kicking in. "You can stay here with us for as long as you need." Selene thanked her repeatedly. "I'll just go make sure the spare room is all set up. They watched as Mrs McCall rushed up the stairs.
"What is really up?" Scott asked. He wasn't so easily fooled.
"The house was attacked by hunters. Derek and I can't go back. At least not yet. Not until it's safe."
"The house was attacked? Oh this is my fault. I'm sorry." He winced.
"Hey," Selene put her hand on his shoulder. "No, the hunters would have found us anyway. I mean its not that much of a secret place. We moved back into our old house. We just need to lay low for a while. I appreciate you letting me stay here."
"Not that I had much of a choice." Scott pointed out while tilting his head in the direction his mother went. Both teens relaxed slightly. Even with the thought of hunters trying to find and kill them hovering in the back of their minds... They would be fine... Wouldn't they?
