Chapter 15

Luna and Niko hoisted Flint off the ground. He was too weak to walk. The leaves Niko had given her had helped the bleeding... but Luna wasn't sure he was going to make it. Flint's eyes were closed, his breathing shallow. Twilight and Spark padded out of the undergrowth.

"Luna... is he ok?" Spark asked softly.

Luna shook her head. "His wounds are deep. He lost a lot of blood." Spark stepped forward and began to gently lick away some dried blood from Flint's cheek.

"Hollow will pay for this," Twilight growled.

Niko shook his head. "I'm sorry, Twilight. I don't think he's going to make it." Twilight lowered her head. Spark licked her sister's ripped ears. Twilight nudged Flint, trying to wake up her brother.

"Mother, is that you?" Flint murmured.

Twilight's olive eyes clouded with grief. "No, Flint. It's me, Twilight. You're sister. You got hurt, but you're going to be alright. You are going to be just fine, Flint." Twilight sounded like she was trying to convince herself, too.
