Dear Mister River,

Hello. My name is Nova Blight and you have no reason to know who I am or read this letter. I am acutely aware of this when it comes to the situation at hoof, but I only ask that you read what I have to say, this could be beneficial to both of us in the end.

To start, I do not think that your dishonorable discharge is any fault of yours, nor do I think it was something that was deserved. I have every reason to believe that you have been framed in order to stage a political coup against the Equestria Princesses. 

Please allow me to explain.

My father is Marquise Orion of the Clever family, a higher-ranking official in the Canterlot Elite. My family was raised one way, the stallions handle all and any business due outside of the household, meaning that my sister, mother, and myself were unaware of the dealing of business my father held dear to him. 

This does not absolve us of any guilt to your situation, I deeply regret the sins of my father.

This does mean that there are documents of the court case of Equestria vs River, a private court case that only the elite involved would have any knowledge of or documentation of. My father is one of these Elite and failed to properly secure these documents where I could not find them.

I did extensive research into your case before realizing that it belonged to you, and what I found was rather interesting. According to the Canterlot Royal Archives, you never existed, but according to the Royal Guard Profile Records, you do exist and were dishonorably discharged for espionage while the court case was posed for treason.

But I've gotten sidetracked from the point of this letter.

My question for you reads as follows: Would you be willing to partake in an interview to be published in the Canterlot Chronicles in order to clear your name and expose the Elite?

I'll be frank, you have no reason to trust me, nor do you have any reason to assist me or share your story. You are innocent, I am sure of this, but I cannot prove it without testimony from the only living party of the Dragonlands attack. 

You are the sole survivor and the only missing link.

I ask you to trust me and give me your honesty because the Elite, despite being my world, have done horrible things. Not just to you, though your story tugs at my heartstrings, but to ponies all over the country, including those among themselves.

I am exposing the elite purely in order to right the wrongs they have committed, to allow the victims of these ponies to come forward.
