Fear And Revenge
Killian's Pov
Emma jumps off the table, rushing to the door.
"Emma. What are you doing? You can't go out there," I pull her back.
"Killian, I know you're worried, but we need to help. We don't even know what it is," Emma tries to pull her arm out of my grasp.
"I do know it. I encountered it in the enchanted forest on our recent trip. Swan, this magic, this green smoke, it messes with your mind. It reveals your greatest weaknesses. I don't know how, but I can't let you do this," I beg her.
"Killian, I'm the Savior. I have to help. I'll be okay. I promise," she takes my face in her hand, and kisses me gently.
"Why do you have to be so stubbornly brave?" I shake my head at her, "But we're taking precautions," I grab a blanket off of the shelf.
I wrap the blanket around her mouth and nose, hoping that if she doesn't inhale the smoke that it won't affect her. I take a blanket for myself and hold it to my nose.
"You ready?" I ask.
She nods.
I grab her hand and pull her behind me, as we walk outside.
Just as Whale said, people are screaming and running amok in a daze.
"Stay close," I whisper to Emma through the starchy cloth.
We walk carefully through the street. The fog fills the air.
A blonde haired kid runs towards us yelling, "Stay away."
He runs right into Emma. Her hand slips out of mine and she falls on the ground.
"Swan," I shout, but the fog quickly covers my vision and I can't see her.
I spin in circles, trying to find her. In the process, the cloth covering my face, falls off. I hold my breath, searching for the blanket on the ground. I crouch down, running my hand across the pavement trying to find the fabric. I can't hold my breath any longer. I take a quick breath and not long after find the blanket. I cover my face again, urgently, breathing in the air I had lost..
"Emma," I struggle to wheeze through my dry throat.
"You didn't really think you could run from me forever," a familiar voice says from behind me.
I whip around.
"It's about time you face me, mate," the man says, curling his tongue and brushing it across his teeth.
"How... how is this possible?" I stutter looking at an identical version of myself.
"Quite simple really. I'm just the part of you that you have buried so long and now I'm out to play. Think you can defeat me again," my doppelganger smiles, viciously.
"I can do it a million times over, for Emma," I sneer.
"Oh I forgot about that wench. How is fair Emma? Tell me. Is she just as amazing with a sword as I thought she would be?" He smirks, violently.
"You have no right to say things like that about her. You could never deserve a woman as pure as that," I say through gritted teeth.
"Ah,"he clenches his fingers in a maniacal manner, "Oo, you forget that I am you. I am married to her, just the same as you. Are you telling me that you never look at her like that? The way you used to look at other women. A treat, to be devoured," he whispers into my ear, like a mocking shoulder devil, "And if I never deserved her, how could you?"
"What do you want?" I growl, trying to ignore his venomous words.
"I want my life back. I'm done hiding in the closet, as this pathetic slob. I want the exciting life back. A pirate's life for me," he grinds his teeth so close that is vibrate off my eardrum, "And soon enough I'll be back stronger than ever and you won't be able to stop me," he says the last part in a sing-song voice, like Rumplestiltskin...
...because it was.
The once doppelganger of myself has now turned into the crocodile. I pull out my sword.
"Miss me, dearie?" he cackles, spinning his fingers in the air.
"What the bloody hell is happening?" I yell, taking the pointed end of my sword and maintaining a distance between my and the beast.
"You said it yourself. The green magic stuff is messing with your head," he raise his finger, along with his voice, "For once I agree with the pirate. You're much more boring this way. Now how about I show you who you truly are," he waves his hand and a swirling puff of smoke appears, revealing Emma or some version of her.
She looks beaten up, as she is huddled in a ball, crumpled to the ground next to Rumple.
"Emma," I drop my sword to my waist.
He lifts her up, by her neck. She gasps for air.
"I have already taken one love of yours and it wasn't enough, to keep you revengeful for long, so why don't I take another," he lifts her feet off the ground.
She tries to escape, her feet flailing below her.
"Killian," she gasps out.
"No," I run towards the demon, plunging my sword through his chest and Emma drops to the ground, "You deserve so much pain that death."
I twist the sword and more blood spills from Rumplestiltskin's abdomen. I plunge it even further into his body, the hilt digging into his ribs. The crocodile screams. Blood pours from his mouth and he falls limp. Dead. I remove the sword, as he falls to the ground.
I walk over to Emma, her eyes wide.
"It's okay you're safe," I reach out to her, but she scoots away, afraid.
Blood trails down my fingertips and my eyes are crazed.
I brush my bloody hand across my pants.
"Emma? It's just me," I reach out for her again, my hands clean.
She just retreats further, tears boil in her eyes.
"You're a monster," she whispers.
"Emma? He hurt you. We're safe now. He had to pay for his crimes," I plead with her.
"And now so do you. You said you'd change, but you murdered a man. A man once like you. A man who had the potential to change and you murdered him," she curls up, her knees to her chest.
"But Emma? Our child?" I ask.
"With have to grow up without a father, because I will not let my child look up to a man who has murdered countless innocent people on a quest for revenge," she disappears and another version of her appears on the other side of me.
She's lying in a hospital bed, exhausted.
She is now holding a beautiful baby girl in her arms. Her words echoing in my head. 'Grow up without a father,' and 'murdered countless innocent people.'
I walk towards the room, but before I can reach the room, Emma and the baby dissolve into green mist. I try to grapple for them, but the smoke slips through my arms.
"I told you that you couldn't lock me away forever," my doppelganger returns to my side, "I will be back soon enough. And then Killian Jones will be dead to us, only the ruthless Captain Hook here to stay."
Soon the other me disappears as well. The mist floating in the air, as it settles back onto the ground.
I spin around in circles, confused.
"It was just the fog. Just the fog," I repeat in my head, trying to focus.
The only important thing right now, is finding the Emma, the real Emma. Who knows with all of her past issues, what she's facing right now.
Emma's Pov
I collapse on the ground clutching my stomach as a man runs into me.
"Killian," I scream through the green fog, but the sound is muffled through the blanket.
He'll never be able to hear me.
Screw this. I rip off the blanket, ignoring the fact that the green smoke is surrounding me.
"Killian," I scream at the top of my lungs, breathing in the fog and coughing.
I breathe in the toxic mist. I cough and the air thickens around me. The smoke tickles my throat, as I continue to cough.
The fog thins, but then I appear in an older version of my house. I hear things clutter on the other side of the door.
"What the hell?" I whisper.
I turn the cold doorknob, walking into the next room. It's the nursery. Killian kneels on the ground, in front of the crib, crying.
"Killian," I whisper to him.
He wipes away his tears.
"You said you'd protect her," he turns around, to glare at me.
"What? What do you mean?" I ask, confused.
He stands up, angry tear threaten to spill from his eyes. He walks to me, stopping to tower over me.
"Our daughter. He was after us and you failed her. They took her because you couldn't protect her," Killian spits in my face.
"What?" I look down, my stomach is flat again. I'm not pregnant. My daughter? Gone? I try to comprehend everything I'm hearing.
"Don't you get it Emma. You're the Savior, but you couldn't even save your own daughter. How can I be married to someone who lies to me?" he scowls.
"You don't mean that," I plead with him.
"I'm going to find our daughter myself. We're done Swan," he walks out the door.
"But Killian. Don't leave. I can fix this. I can find her. I can make this up to you," I plead with him, grabbing his arm, crying.
"Not this time. You can't fix this, because you're the one who broke it. And you will never be able to fix it," he shakes me off.
I stumble backwards as the wall around me caves in and turns to burnt colored stone. I try to step forward, only realizing that I'm shackled to the cave walls. A young woman steps out of the shadows. She looks just like me with Killian eyes.
"Hello mother," she touches my cheek and a chill runs up my spin.
I gasp.
"You're all grown up," I cry.
"Yes. I did some of that, but I did it without my mother or my father and now because of it you're going to pay," she rips out my heart.
I scream in pain, collapsing on the ground.
"What happened to you? Why are you doing this?" I breathe, through the cavity in my chest.
"I was alone because of you. But there was no happy ending for me. You ruined your own daughter and now I am going to show you the pain you left me with," she sneers.
"Darkness won't solve anything. Please let me help you. Please I didn't mean to lose you. I loved you so much. I know how it feels..." my throat tightens, as she chokes me, pushing me up the rough wall.
"Don't say another word. You have no idea what it's like to grow up born for darkness because you're the savior, but I am no savior. I am meant for darkness and revenge. All I do is cause pain and that's what I'm going to do to you," she squeezes my heart.
I gasp out in pain, screaming. I collapse into the fetal position, my chest feeling like in was caving in, all the muscles around my heart cavity tightening.
My heart disappears into dust, as I collapse on the ground, fading into darkness.
"Emma," Killian's voice calls to me.
I open my eyes. I scream, scurrying away from him. I'm supposed to be dead.
"Emma," he comes closer to me, "You're okay. It's me."
I breathe fast, feeling panic coursing through my veins. I can't focus. I can't move. I look down. My stomach is once again swollen, but my hands are shaking and I am dizzy. What's happening to me?
Killian comes to me wrapping his arms around me, "Hey. I am here. It just messes with your head okay. You're safe now. It's all over. None of that is real," he soothes me.
I hear his words, but I don't really understand them. Everything is blurry, my head and my vision. And I can't seem to get enough air, so I breathe faster.
"Emma... listen to me. It's gone. No one can hurt you, but I need you to breathe for me," he tries to slow my rapid breathing.
But I can't seem to do it. I feel trapped and I cry into his chest.
"Breathe with me, okay, love," his chest rises and falls, a pattern I try to follow, but with little avail.
My head rises with his chest and the first few breaths I take are more like shrill gasps.
"There we go. In and out. You're going to be perfectly okay," he keeps breathing with me and slowly my breathing returns to normal.
He sighs, holding me closer to him. Once I'm able to breathe normally, I relax into his arms. I am exhausted.
"You okay?" he asks me.
I nod into his chest. I look up to see my parents are also there, looking like they fought their own share of mind twisting.
"Bloody hell I was so worried about you. I had no idea what that magic would do to you. You are never leaving my side again," he holds me tightly, "Let's get you home."
I nod, still gripping his shirt. Whatever this magic is, we need to get rid of it, before we all lose our sanity.
So there's that. I know this could've been kinda confusing, but basically they were all having messed up dreams (I don't know, but that's the best word I could think of) and it was caused by the green smoke. So yeah!
