Don't Give Up On Me, Not Yet

Killian's Pov
David and Snow rush through the doors. I sit in a chair, trying to pull myself together.

"Thank goodness you're all right," Snow says, engulfing me in a hug. David gives me a hug also, patting me on the back.

I don't know if 'all right' are the best words, hanging on by a thread might be more accurate.

"How are you holding up?"

"Enough," I reply.

"Oh, Killian we are so sorry," she says, hugging me again.

She said it like Emma was already dead. I refuse to let them go just yet, at least not Emma. Losing our child would be devastating, but losing Emma? I don't know if I could do that. I don't know if I could live without her, happily. I don't know what my life would turn into.

"Emma is going to be okay." David says, saying it more like something I am demanded to believe.

Honestly, David is the only one keeping me from losing all hope. I need him. He is the only one who can hold me up besides Emma.

"So what happened?" Snow asks.

I tell them about the robbery, the man, the chase, and Emma collapsing from pain. I tell them everything, trying not to fall apart while telling the tale.

"Family of Emma Swan?" a nurse says walking out of Emma's room.

We all stand, a tension filling the air, waiting to hear the news. David's hand holds my shoulder firmly, a source of comfort.

"Is she all right?" I weakly ask.

"Mr. Jones...

A new kind of worry hangs in the air.

The world seems to be going in slow motion, waiting for the words that might crush my entire world.

The words that might send my life crumbling apart.

Burning into ashes

My heart rate quickens.

Hanging on to every word she says.

"Mr. Jones, your wife is recovering."

I let out a huge sigh of relief, feeling a weight lift of my shoulders like wings lifting me from the floor. All the sand that filled my lungs dissolves.

"Your wife is doing well. Her pain has stopped. She seems to be perfectly okay. She is just weak for the time being. The severe migraine seemed to take a lot out of her. She will be tired and it will take her a little bit to get her strength back, but the good news is that she is doing well."

"A migraine?" I ask, surprised. It seemed like a lot more than that, but I am relieved nonetheless.

"You can talk to Whale about that. He will be by to answer your questions in a little bit."

"And the baby?" I ask with even more worry, now that I know Emma is safe.

The odds seem grim.

Sorry for all the depressing moments and cliff hangers.

Keep reading. It will get better, I promise.

Thanks!
