(Salvatore House) Third Persons POV

"Look, Elijah's dead, right? So no one else even knows that you exist" Stefan states.

"Except for Alice" Rose states.

"Who doesn't know Elijah is dead or that Elena is home safe" Damon states.

"Look, I've never even met anyone who's laid eyes on him. I mean, we're talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction. We don't know if he's real. For all we know he could just be some sort of stupid bed time story" Stefan states.

"He's real and he doesn't give up. If he wants something, he gets it. If you're not afraid of Klaus, then you're an idiot" Rose tells them.

"Alright, we're shaking. You made your point" Damon tells her. Elena gets up grabbing her school bag.

"Where are you going?" Stefan asks her.

"School, I'm late" she states.

"Let me grab my stuff, I'll go with you" Stefan tells her.

"It's okay, I know where it is" she tells him before leaving.

"She;s in denial" Damon tells Rose.

"Shut up, Damon" Stefan says before going to get his school stuff.

Alice's POV

So I decided to pay Katerina a visit at her prison. The tomb. I arrived and moved the door. Before sitting down in front of it. "Katerina" I sing and she soon appears. "You look horrible" I tell her.

"I've been stuck in here for two days. Haven't had any blood for nearly three days. Of course I look horrible Alice" she states. "See you've return to your natural look" she adds.

"Thought I was free, turns out I'm not. Elijah's dead" I tell her.

"I'm sorry Alice" she says sincerely. "I never slept with him" she adds.

"What are you talking about?" I ask her.

"In 1492, I never slept with Elijah" she states.

"But he betrayed Klaus for you" I state.

"Yes, but only because I guilt tripped him and black mailed him" she states. "I tried seducing him, but it didn't work. I told him I'd tell you and that you'd believe me. As you saw me as a sister, that you'd be devastated if anything happened to me. So he agreed to help me, but only to make you happy" she explains.

"He never cheated on me" I say.

"I'm sorry I let you think that all these years, that I let the originals believe that you helped me back then. I just didn't want to lose another sister" she tells me. "Am I forgiven?" she asks me.

"I don't know Katerina, I lost so much because of you" I tell her. Just then we hear someone approaching. I turn to see Katerina's doppelganger and the blonde vampire. "You must be Elena Gilbert, so sorry about the thing with Rose and Trevor. But I was tired of running. I would kill you to get back at the Salvatores for killing my ex fiance. But I wont'" I state.

"Why should we trust you?" the blonde asks.

"Like my fiance, I'm a woman of my word. I a promise, I keep it" I state. "Now I believe you're here for a reason Elena" I say.

"Yes, I wanted to ask Katherine about Klaus"  she states.

"Well lucky for you we're experts" I tell her.

"Good bye Caroline" Katherine says to the blonde.

"As long as I stay on this side of the door, Katherine can't hurt me. And I trust Alice's word" Elena tells Caroline. "Please" she says and Caroline left.

"Stefan know you're here?" Katherine asks her.

"I brought you some things" Elena tells her. Holding up a bag.

"So you've obviously been busy, if you know about Klaus" I state. "Why should Katerina tell you anything?" I ask her.

"I also brought this" she states taking an old book out of her bag. "It's your family history. It says in here that the family line ended with you. Obviously that's not true" she says looking at Katherine.

"You think that if you brought me some family keepsake that I'd open up?" Katherine asks her unimpressed.

"I also brought you this" Elena states taking out a bottle of blood. I take it from her and smell it.  As Katherine rushes over towards Elena but she can't get out because of the spell.

"AB, my favourite" I say with a smile.

"You don't look so good. How long before your body shuts down? 10, 20 years? It must be painful to desiccate and mummify. I can't even imagine" Elena says.

"She has the Petrova fire" I say with a smirk as Katherine sits down. I sit down also as Elena takes out a cup. I pour some blood into it. Elena pushes it towards her with a stick. Katherine takes the glass and drinks. Her skin regains some of its color.

"Alice is right, you do have the Petrova fire" Katherine agrees.

"More blood?" Elena asks her. Katherine puts the cup down and Elena pulls it out of the tomb. I pour more blood into it and Elena pushes it back to Katherine.

"It's a long story, Klaus and I. It goes all the way back to England, 1492, after I left Bulgaria. Or was thrown out" Katherine tells her.

"Thrown out?" Elena asks.

"She had a child out of wedlock. Which maybe fine now, but back then. It brought shame onto the family" I tell her.

"My family, your true ancestors, they disowned me. My indiscretions were not tolerated at that time" Katherine states.

"It was kept secret?" Elena asks.

"My baby was given away. I was banished to England and I had to learn to adjust. So I quickly became English. Became friends with the Princess Alice. It was there that I caught the eye of a nobleman named Klaus. I was taken with him at first, til I found out what he was and what he wanted from me. And then I ran like hell" Katherine explains. I let Katerina explain as I think about the past.

(Flash bask)

"Alice have you seen Katerina?" Elijah asks me.

"Your mistress?" I ask hotly glaring at him.

"I don't have time for this discussion now Alice. Have you seen Katerina?" he asks me.

"No" I tell him. He heads for the door. "You walk out that door Elijah we're over" I tell him and he pauses. "You walk out that door and I'll end our engagement. That's a promise" I state.

"I'm sorry Alice" he says sorrowfully. Before leaving. I held back my tears as I looked down at my engagement ring. With a heavy heart I removed it from my finger. I place it on the desk and left the room going to my balcony.

(End of flash back)

"So what did Klaus want?" Elena asks Katerina.

"The same thing that he'll want from you. He wants to break the curse" Katherine tells her.

"By sacrificing the Petrova doppelgänger" Elena says.

"He wanted to drain every single drop of blood from my body" Katherine tells her.

"What does the Petrova blood line have to do with Klaus?" Elena asks her.

"It's really tedious but..." Katherine begins. "The curse was bound by the sacrifice of Petrova blood. Witches are crafty with their spells. The doppelgänger was created as a way to be able to undo the spell. Once the doppelgänger reappeared, the curse can be broken" she explains.

"So you ran before he killed you?" Elena asks.

"Something like that" Katherine states. She explains what happened with Trevor. How she ended up at Rose's house.

"Rose never ended up taking you back to Klaus, did she?" Elena asks her.

"No, but not because she had a change of heart" Katherine states. She explains how she stabbed herself and Rose healed her with her blood. Then once she was alone. Katherine hanged herself while Rose's blood was still in her system. She woke and drank the blood of the human who owned the house before running.

"You killed yourself?!" Elena asks shocked.

"Klaus needed a human doppelgänger. As a vampire, I was no longer any use to him" Katherine states.

"But it didn't work. You didn't really escape, you've been running from Klaus ever since" Elena states.

"Not before she turned me" I state. "I was on my balcony crying about Elijah when she appeared. I was shocked and angry. I went to yell at her or ruining my life. But she made me drink her blood and snapped my neck. I woke an hour later in transition. She maid me drink from a maid, completing my transition" I explain.

"I wanted her to run with me, but she didn't" Katherine states.

"But I've still been running ever since. As Klaus and Elijah both believed I helped Katherine escape the castle" I state.

"I underestimated Klaus' spirit for vengeance. But living in a suitcase is better than dying so you can have your blood spilled over some silly little rock" Katherine states. "What's wrong? Afraid I'm right? You don't want to die? There's another way out" she says cutting her wrist. "Better hurry. Your opportunity is going, going, going and gone" she says once her wrist was healed. "I made the other choice" she states.

"Alice, Rose and Trevor spent the last 500 years running because you used them. Trevor just got killed" Elena tells her.

"I never thought he would last that long" Katherine tells her.

"You don't even care that you ruined their lives" Elena says.

"I was looking out for myself, Elena. I will always look out for myself. If you're smart, you'll do the same" Katherine tells her. Then starts to exam her family book.

"Well it's been fun going down memory lane, but I need fresh blood. See you girls around" I say before leaving. I go hunt a couple towns over. Craving AB blood. I was closing in on my choosen victim, when I felt eyes on me.

I paused looking around. But see no one and frown in confusion. I focus back on my target. I go to struck when someone grabs me from behind covering my mouth. I scream trying to break free. But whoever it is, was stronger then me. Suddenly I'm on a roof top and released. "Hello Alice" a familiar voice says.

"Elijah" I say shocked. Feeling multiple emotions at once. Joy that he's alive. Scared about what his intentions are. Guilty for thinking he'd ever be unfaithful to me. And so much more. "How did you find me?" I ask shocked.

"With some magic" he says holding up an all to familiar ring. It was my engagement ring from 1492. The one he had given me.
