Lavi's pov

**

After my parent left that day,I couldn't wait to see my siblings any longer than I already have so the next day;we left the babies in the safe hands of aunt Nene for the first time and went over to our house.

While growing up,not once did I imagined I'd leave home without hearing from any of them for over five months straight.

Hmmm...

The front corridor to our house was still the same with that old cushion seating outside by the corner facing the iron rail at the entrance. The main door was locked from the inside but I could hear voices from the inside mostly that of Dayo and Nike. They seem to be arguing because their voices were all over the place.

Gosh!

I had begged my mom not to inform anyone that I would be coming today. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when I show up at the front door.

Katherine hand squeezing mine had pulled me out of my lost thought as I turned to face her. She has been watching me with a thoughtful look on her face.

"Are you okay?" She asked

"I could be better. Now c'mon"

I pulled her towards the door with great anticipation from my end towards my siblings.

I gave a hard and steady knock on the door as we stood beside each other waiting for the door to be opened. I could hear my mom calling at Bisi to come get the door.

Mom must be in the kitchen or setting her up for a huge surprise!

The door cracked open from the inside revealing Bisi with a tri-quarter baggy jean I knew for a fact that was mine and a faded orange T-shirt that was just not her size anymore.

Very typical of her...

Laughing out loud in my head!

Bisi eyes grew a little wider and wider as she looked back at the two guest standing before her. Her eyes darted at Katherine and back at me in a split second before she let out a scream and jumped at me,startling me in the process as well as Katherine!

Christ!

I have never seen my sister Bisi hugged or react in this way before. Not even when my grandparents would come around to visit us from the village. She prefers to keep her emotions in check no matter how excited she could be and that why am pretty startled at the moment with Bisi glued to my body and her arms crushing my windpipe unknowingly because of how tightly her arms were wrapped around my neck!

"I knew you would come back! I just knew you would"

I could feel the tears rising from my throats and it's not even Nike who is talking to me right now.

Bisi words has caught me off guard and I can't even fathom the right words to say to her.

After realizing that she was crashed against me in a hug, she quickly let go and adjust herself back to her normal I don't care mood.

"Why did you take so long to come back!" She questioned

Knowing Bisi too well and how she react to things,I did the unthinkable as I pulled her back in for a hug.

"I've missed you too sis and am sorry if I left without saying a word"

She didn't say anything for a moment as she hugged me back. A normal Bisi would have been sarcastic about the whole thing at this moment but her silent was saying more than enough.

"I promise that I won't leave again unless for studies if God permits"

She gave a nod and pulled away when she heard mom's voice followed by her foot steps

"Bisi? Who was at the door?"

She stopped in her next step as her eye beheld Katherine and I.

"You two are here? Come on in"

"Mom? You knew they were coming?" Asked Bisi turning at my mom

"I wanted to surprise you guys" I replied with a shrug before my mom could say something in her defense.

Dayo and Nike came running as well towards the living room where we stood and came to a halt when they saw me. Dayo looked surprised and confused as he stared at us.

"Hey bro" I smiled at him.

"Brother Ayo?" Said Dayo not believing his eyes...

Why does five months feels like five years all of a sudden?

Anyways,Nike little figure crashing into my legs had me snapping back to reality.

I didn't realize I was frozen until her little arms wrapped around my legs in a hug and my eyes began to water as I looked down at her.

She has grown so thin and I can't even imagine why..mom did mentioned her to be sick

"Brother Ayo! You came back!" She squeaked holding on to my legs.

I untangled her arms gently and carried her up in my arms and pinched at her cheek and she giggled a little showing a tooth hole in her mouth..

"What did you do with your teeth princess"

Her hands slapped across her mouth in an attempt to hide it.

"Did you sell it out to look for your brother?"

"No I didn't because no one would tell me where you were" she frowned looking at my mom's direction.

She must be the culprit no doubt !

"Don't worry because am here now"

"You came back for me?"

"For you,Dayo,Bisi and everyone because I couldn't live without you"

She smiled and hugged me close.

Katherine said hello to my mom and it caught her attention and she turned towards her.

"Who is that?" Pointing her index at her.

"Her name is Katherine and she..she is my girlfriend"

Her expression went from confused to surprised as she struggled back on her feet and walked towards her.

"Brother Ayo said you are his girlfriend! Is that true?"

"Yes it's true! I'm his girlfriend" she replied with her eyes narrowing at back.

She smiled at Katherine and then turned back to me. She pulled at my hand indicating her need to whisper into my ears so I squatted beside her and she began to speak into my hearing.

"Your girlfriend is pretty.." she commended.

"Thank you" glancing at Katherine with a wink

"Is she from nickelodeon?"

I think Katherine and everyone heard that part as everyone chuckled at her statement. Bisi pulled her away and towards herself.

"Questionnaire,come here"

She didn't let her keep her for long as she struggled out of her grip and ran back at me so I carried her back in my arm as we all turned towards the living room.

I was back at my home,seating in the confines of our living room but I felt like a prodigal son with all the attention am receiving.

Dayo finally had lot of questions to ask Katherine of course. He wanted to be sure she was the same girl he saw at the hospital and she said yes!.

Dad came in a little later and Nike ran to him with an announcement of course.

Brother Ay is back!

"How are you doing son? And you too dear" he asked turning to Katherine and I after everyone had greeted him.

"Very well sir" she answered

"How are the boys; still crying much?"

"Not that much but enough to get the both of us pulling our hairs out in frustration"she joked

My dad chuckled at her words...

"You should bring them around one of these days to get used to everyone" he advices!

My siblings were all shocked when I told them about my kids but Bisi looked indifferent and I bet she knew from day one.

Nike and Dayo wanted to go see them right away and mom had to beg them to eat before she could allow them to go.

While eating,my mom took her time to narrate how much I cried while I was an infant so in other word, Darien and Derek are the chip of the old block!

My buddy James couldn't believe am a father. I couldn't believe it myself. I am only eighteen after all!

Lol

A young dad is what I am and am sorta proud of myself.

I smiled at Katherine and she winked back.

She understood me without me saying a word!
