lucky you
part 2 to lucky me~

As both of them walked through the door Octavian was already fighting the nurses hands away like a child. Sitting up with a bright red flush that Henri couldn't decide if it was from the fever, or the embarrassment striken in his face.
"I don't need these stupid things-" He tried to push her hand away as she slapped a wet towel onto the top of his head, the entire thing unfolding to cover his eyes from the angle as a sound similar to growling came from under it. He peeled it off and threw it to where it hit the wall besides them with a slap, Robin letting go a yelp as Henri flinched at her side, the nurse already pushing forward another one as if they had been doing this for a while already.
"It's a cold press it'll help-" The nurse wasn't backing down at his antics. The two struggling for a moment, the nurse actually managing to get the upper hand for a moment until Octavian nearly fell out of the bed to avoid her assistance. Both of them stopping as they finally heard Robin as she cleared her throat, tugging Henri infront of her as they both looked over to the awkward pair. Feeling small as both of their wild gazes met his.
"Henri-?" Octavian muttered as he sat up, moving too fast for his body to actually keep steady from where he sat on the edge of the cot, tipping over and falling off with a yell. The nurse only looking down distastefully, it seemed now she was through with dealing with him.
"U-Uhm. I'm here to take him h-home?" He said timidly as she shot him a warm smile. Robin happily nodding along as the nurse straightened back out, already gesturing to the mess of a teen on the ground with eagerness to get him out of there. More than happy to hear she didn't have to deal with him anymore.
"Oh don't worry kids, he's all yours." She gave him a disgruntled glance as Octavian struggled to his feet. Shuffling in place for a moment as he tried to avoid the fact that he had a bit of an audience to his disheveled appearance.
Henri couldn't help his gaze as he looked over him. He never really expected to see him like this, and it didn't seem to set in before when he was too busy dragging his heavy frame over here as he listened to him weakly tell him to leave him alone. Too much panic clouded him at that moment. Yet here, Robin's hands on his shoulders as she explained to the nurse what they were doing, blue eyes forward as Octavian regained his balance. Hair messy, face still damp from the towels thrown and tossed at it, and usually pristine clothes rumpled and in places covered with dust from the ground. He seemed a lot more... Powerless.
"Brother..." Robin snapped him out of his thoughts as she walked forward, both her words and tread careful as she moved closer to him. Like someone trying to catch a wild cat. "...I told you, you didn't seem well."
"I'm fine birdy-" He grit, flustered as he already was, trying to push his hair into place as he tried to catch his breath.
"Octy-" She pouted. Hands clasped infront of her chest as Octavian huffed at the nickname. Trying to avoid her puppy dog gaze as she pressed on.
"Don't try-"
"Octy...."
"Robin-"
"Octy...."
Henri could tell that if he ever needed Octavian to do something, it was best to go through Robin to do it. Especially since it took no longer than a few minutes later for both boys to finally find themselves alone in the Lumis family car. The short teen wondered briefly how the hell this all came to happen so quickly, and why it had to happen to him, as he briefly glanced over to where Octavian sat beside him in the overly luxurious car. He didn't even know why someone would use something like this to go to school when he only had the bus to worry about-
The tall boy leaned against the glass window. Already strapped in as he took a deep breath. Shaking hand reaching up to tug at the buttons of his shirt, Henri blanking for a moment as he found himself staring at the newly exposed skin just beneath. Pulling himself back together as he felt his face grow red.
"Robin worries too much." He sighed. Eyes shut as he seems to have cooled down, Robin forced him to take something to ease his fever, but his body still seemed to be quite exhausted regardless. His temperature waned a bit now. Octavian seemed more upset than anything else that ailed him. Peeved at something that Henri could only assume would be the fact that his sister pounded into his head that he had to rest.
"I-I don't think she overreacted. You fainted back there." He tapped his fingers over the wheel that seemed all too expensive, it alone probably worth more than the car he learned to drive in.
"Hm...." Was the only sound he let out as he dragged a hand over his face. Finally opening his tired blue eyes and fixing them on the boy at his side. Saying nothing else as he took in a deep breath.
They sat in silence for a moment. Henri trying not to sweat as Octavian stared at him intently.
"W-wh..." The smaller boy had to form the words in his head for a moment. Trying to shake off his gaze as he swallowed hard.
"Where do you live?"
Octavian blinked once.
"Oh. That's why we're not moving." He said quietly. Eyes brightening a bit at the realization.
"Then that means you can't take me home. So I don't have to go home." He said lightly. Clear satisfaction in his words as he tugged more buttons loose. Unbuckling his seat belt as he sprawled out in the front of the Cadillac's seats. One leg hanging over the seat while his head fell right besides Henri's lap.
Henri felt his heart rate go up as he realized he wasn't going to do what Robin told him. A chill racing up his spine at having to deal with her anger, which seemed like its own kind of beast.
"O-Octavian please let me take you home-"
"No. I don't want to be there." Octavian said lightly, draping an arm over his eyes so that he didn't have to see him ask. "I want to stay here."
"They can't let you back into the school you need to rest-"
"-Well let me rest here then." He cut him off abruptly. The both of them falling hush until Octavian spoke quietly again.
"I don't want to be there." The way he said it sounded almost meek. "Just stay with me here, Henri..." He muttered, scooting up to lay his head on his lap. A small sign on his lips as he suddenly realized, just how awful and tired he felt.
Henri thought he might explode if he thought about it too hard. Hands still tightly gripping the wheel as he looked in bewilderment at the boy laying his head on his lap. What struck him even worse, the way he seemed to find it the most comfortable spot in the world. He was so glad the Lumis boy had his eyes closed.
Octavian felt his headache, snuggling further into the comfort of the soft jeans Henri had on, and the warmth the other boy gave off. He didn't think about what he was doing, he didn't think it was as striking as anyone else might. The only thing he could think about was how he let himself get here. And look a fool in front of the only person he seemed to like.
Henri watched the small smile that creeped onto his lips. Vian only thinking:
Lucky you, Octavian. A sick day you might actually enjoy.
