I stared at his office the entire time at work; he didn't seem to notice me. I sighed... Phoenix...what did it even mean? Your eyes glow like fire when you stare at me I smiled so he noticed nice!

Eric called me at lunch time. I picked, we talked for a while; the whole time blushing and hoping Mr Hot noticed it and he agreed to come pick me up. I arranged my desk it's just a crush Becky don't make it more than that I assured myself. Eric called again and I got up to leave when Mr Hot walked up to me.

'Hello Phoenix. Off to somewhere?' he asked.

'Yes sir. My boyfriend is waiting for me outside. We're going out for lunch.' I replied. I noticed his happy expression had reduced but he still smiled to cover it up. In that instance, I realized I had hurt his feelings...if they were real or there in the first place.

'Okay. Have fun Becky.' He walked away.

He called my name for the first time. I didn't upset him I thought to myself as I walked towards the door, looking back at his office and our eyes collided; I looked away instantly and walked out of the office, joined Eric in the car.

'What took you so long to come out?' Eric asked. He looked upset. I wore my seat belt.

'My boss had a word with me,' I replied with a straight face and looked out the window. He said nothing and drove off. We got to the Chinese restaurant that was ten minutes drive away from the office.

'What will you eat?' he asked me? I looked at the menu...the names of the food made me lose my appetite. What the hell was

bāozi
buddha jumps over the wall
xièfên shīzi tóu
fūqī fèipiàn
beggars chicken

The beggars chicken made me giggle till tears dropped.

'Babe!' Eric called. I looked up and apologized. I looked back at the menu and closed it.

'I'll have buddha jumps over the wall,' I replied with a wide grin. I didn't know what it looked like but the name sounded amazeballs. We ate and talked and I totally forgot about Mr Hot. I loved Eric...flaws and all and I was happy.

'Thank you for lunch,' I said when he dropped me at the office. He smiled. 'I love you.'

'I love you too,' I responded and walked in. I smiled all the way to my desk. A lady walked up to me. I didn't know her; I was yet to get acquainted with everyone in the office.

'Mr. Walker request your presence,' she said and walked to her desk. I looked confused. I didn't know who the person was. She looked at me and pointed to Mr Hots office. Sam wasn't around...it was her day off and I felt awkward.

I got up with confidence, walked to his door, knocked and entered.

'You asked to see me sir,' I said like he didn't know already.

He got up, walked past me and closed the door.
