C H A P T E R 4

"Ollie, w-what are you doing here?"

I haven't seen Oliver in person for years. The last time I'd seen him was at Christmas 4 years ago. And he was not nearly as tall as he is now, and he still had had boyish features then. However, I'm slightly terrified of the twenty-four-year-old man standing in Ollie's room.

Of course, I've seen him in photos. But they do nothing to compare to him in person. He's so tall and his good looks make him incredibly intimidating.

He narrows his green eyes framed by dark lashes any girl would give her left arm for and for a moment he looks slightly amused. "This is my room...is it not?"

Huh?

"Oh, umm. Yes. I'm sorry, I thought you moved out and I needed a hat."
I fix his crooked hat on my head after nearly banging my face into the door frame of the closet.

"Why are you apologizing?" He asks pinning me with his intense gaze while cracking a mischievous grin.

I fumble with my fingers awkwardly in the closet doorway unable to put a thought together for some reason.

Against my will, my eyes drop and widen to circles when I see he's in his boxers and shirtless, "Oh My God." I rip the hat off my head and use it to shield his nearly naked body from my eyes and scurry quickly towards the door, "I'm sorry." I squeak,  even more, mortified when I've realized I've seen a mouth-watering set of abs framed by that V of obliques, and a line of dark body hair trailing from below his belly button into his boxers.

He chuckles as I zip out of the room feeling like a complete creep for snooping around his room when he clearly still stays here.

"You apologize too much, Murry!" I hear him call as I take the stairs two at a time to get as far away from the embarrassment as I can.

I pour myself a coffee from the machine spilling the cream slightly on the countertops still frazzled at seeing Ollie half-naked.

Why am I fretting over this? I've seen him shirtless plenty of times. For goodness sake, I've seen him in his boxers! I just need to chill out.

"Morning." Maggie's sudden cheerful voice causes me to jump and knock over the coffee mug, spilling the hot contents all over the counter.

Come ON!

I swiftly grab the hanging dishtowel draped over the white sink basin and crouch wiping the pooling coffee from the dark maple wood floor. "A bit jumpy this morning are we?" Maggie giggles and starts the kettle on the oven for her morning tea.

"Just tired from the jetlag," I say vigorously wiping the coffee from the floor and then start up the cabinet.

"Oh, sweetheart, I can get that." Jane appears next to me in her long silk robe, looking gorgeous as ever. Everyone in this family is gorgeous, even when just woken up.

Jane grabs a second towel and begins cleaning the coffee on the counter as George walks in dressed in his business trousers, pressed button-up shirt, and his watch he's owned all my life. We both stand, and Jane begins to pour me a fresh coffee, while George makes his way around the kitchen preparing for work.

The kettle screams from the oven and Maggie swiftly removes it from the burner and pours herself a cup just in time for George to do the same. They huddle around the marble island as Jane lays a serving tray of biscuits out for them to dunk in their morning tea.

"Good morning my beautiful family." Ollie's voice fills the kitchen and Jane nearly lets out a high-pitched squeal but covers her full mouth with a hand.

Thankfully, he's dressed so I don't do something embarrassing like choke on my coffee.

"My Love, I didn't know you stayed with us last night?" His mother rushes over and throws her arms around him as Maggie rolls her eyes but grins when Ollie flicks her ear.

"Thought I should make an appearance before I leave for the weekend." He reaches over, slightly shoving Maggie to the side to grab a biscuit, and dunks it into her teacup.

"I'm leaving you Thomas's!" George calls out after kissing Jane's cheek and the three of them loudly say their goodbyes in return. George stops a moment before exiting the kitchen and looks to me huddled at the sink away from the madness at the island. "So happy to have you here, Mur. Will we see you tonight for supper?"

"Nope, not a chance. I'm taking her out." Maggie speaks with a mouth full and quickly washes it down with her tea.

Ollie snorts loudly and raises a dark brow, "Murry? Murry is going out with you?"

I hold the coffee to my chest and roll my eyes as Maggie gives him a wide grin and throws her ashy blonde hair back over her shoulder.

"Like out? In public?" Ollie adds completely awestruck.

Wow, do I not belong in public?

"Yes in 'public', for foks' sake, Oll what is that even supposed to mean?" Maggie looks to me as if he's just insulted her not me. I understand his confusion, I'm not the 'going out type', so I'm sure this is a total shock. "We've got to find her a nice lad."

"Okay, I'm officially leaving! Goodbye Thomas's." George nearly runs out of the kitchen leaving Jane, Maggie, and Ollie at the island and me at the sink leaning back.

"Jeremy will love that," Ollie says with a half-laugh and grabs a teacup for himself from the cabinet next to the large fridge.

"Jeremy can't do anything about it. Isn't that right Muriel." I shake my head, staying as far away from this conversation as possible, and keep busy sipping my coffee.

"Hold on, are you serious? Did the two of you break up?" Ollie glares at me frozen with the cabinet door open and the teacup held upside down in his left hand.

"They're on a break. The two of you need to stop badgering her." Jane interjects coming in to rescue me.

"Bloody foking' hell." Ollie groans loudly and closes the cabinet. It's obvious everyone knows Jeremy and I are on break due to my father, and I hate that everyone is thinking this at the moment.

"Well, I'm going to head out." I dump my coffee into the sink and put my mug into the dishwasher.

"You know it's bound to rain right?" Maggie chimes in as I walk past them still huddled around the kitchen island.

My fingers and toes are crossed that it rains.

"She knows. She likes the rain." Ollie says. All of our eyes go wide and he quickly guzzles the tea from the cup as Jane giggles and Maggie looks at him like he's from Mars.

First thoughts on Ollie?

Thanks for reading this far!

I'm American so let me know how I did with the tea and biscuits in this scene. I don't know of the right way is to 'dunk' or to 'dip'. And google makes this seem like a real dilemma LOL
