Muamba POV

It had been a week now since I last saw Kapinga. Ever since I saw her crying. I knew that she had not yet left Aunt Martha's hose because Mukendi would tell me all about her when I spoke with him. It was how I knew what was going on in her life.

Due to the funeral, my dad had delayed my coronation for a bit. He needed some time too. I on the other hand did not mind at all. This is because I knew that as soon as I took the throne, the elder would demand that I marry shorty after. There was only one girl I wanted to marry but right now I was certain that she did not feel the same way as me.

"My Prince," a maid greeted me as I walked past her. I was headed to my father's office. This was going to be the first time I saw the old man since the funeral. When I reached the door, I knocked thrice and waited. I could hear shuffling on the other side of the door. Shortly afterwards, the door opened to reveal my dad. He was cleanly shaven, thank heavens because the beard he was supporting the last few weeks was horrendous. His hair looked to be freshly washed as it glistened with moisture.

"Come in son," he said. So, I followed him into the room and we sat side by side on the couch in his room.

"Your coronation," My dad started. And I immediately raised a hand to stop him. I was not ready yet.

"It is well past time. Besides, I am tired son," My dad said again. It was odd seeing my dad show emotion. Normally, he was always stoic but for some reason ever since I returned he had changed.

"I am not ready to marry. And as soon as I am king, the elders will push for marriage," I said. I was hoping my father would understand me better.

"Did you not fix things with Kapinga in Evet?" My dad asked. At this I turned to face him in shock. Never had I told my dad about Kapinga before and here he was bringing her up like it was everyone's business.

"You know?" I asked in disbelief.

"I had my suspicions, then Michael confirmed it for me. Why did you think that we asked you to do that month in Evet?" My dad said now supporting a checky grin on his face.

"Michael knows too," I said. Deep down I knew this but hearing it was something else.

"Of course he did. He told me all about how you tried to avoid the girl and deny your attraction for. He even went as far as flirting with her to get you to realise your feelings," Dad added. At this I was even more shocked. Yet it all made sense. Michael would do such a thing.

"You, know this reminds me of when I was young," My dad started. I then glaned back at him and listened.

"I never told you the story of how I married your mother did I," Dad said. And I silently shook my head.

"I was just like you. Arrogant, stubborn and of course more handsome. When I was around your age, I met Kapinga's mother and fell in love at first sight. There was something about her that drew me in. I still had a few months before my coronation so I decided to have some fun. Feelings got added into the mix really quickly and soon she declared her love for me... I loved her too but I knew that my father would never approve of her. I was a prince after all. So, I broke her heart and my own, in order to please my father. After my coronation, I was introduced to your mother. I never loved her, and she never loved me too. Our marriage was one of just business. Anyways, I resented your mother because she could never be the woman I loved and she resented me for never standing up for what I truly wanted," dad said. Then he turned to look back at me.

"What I am trying to say to you son, is that you need to make a decision. Yes, you screwed up with Kapinga. I know because I head you guys on the day of the funeral. But if you truly love her like you do then fight for her. Spend the rest of your life making it up to her. Or you can take the easy way out and marry a princess. The choice is yours," dad said and he stood up from the couch. He then walked to this desk and sat down. Then he looked up at me and said, "But make no mistake you will be crowned king in a months' time. I have already sent out the invitations,"
