Finally "Home"
The air is the fresher than young Skye can remember. The Palmerstons never really liked the children to go outside in fear that the younger ones or the rebellious children would get away somehow.
The loaf of bread man holds Skye's hand as they walk to the car. "Do you like being outside?" He asks.
Skye nods, taking note of each tree, bush, and even the blades of grass.
Anthony smiles at her before unlocking the car and getting into the driver's seat.
Ian opens up Skye's and she gets in, not looking away from the outside. Anthony starts the car and asks what Skye's favorite animal is just to start a conversation.
"I like the panda I think," she replies. "I love all the animals."
Anthony laughs. "We adopted a good one, Ian," he says. She doesn't really know what the other man means by that, but she smiles anyway.
"Oh my god! I never introduced myself!" Anthony laughs. "I'm Anthony. Call me whatever you'd like."
Skye nods. Ian looks back at her and smiles. "You're shy aren't you?"
She shrugs. "I don't know. Am I?"
Ian chuckles. "A little. We're almost home, don't worry."
Suddenly anxious, Skye begins bouncing around in her seat. She wants to see her new home, though she's scared at the same time.
As Anthony pulls into the driveway, Skye is almost squealing with anxiety.
"Here it is," Ian announces. "This is Anthony's apartment, which we share together since we got married."
Skye suddenly looks shocked. "You guys are married!?" She asks. "I thought boys can only marry girls!"
Ian sighs. "We think that anyone should be able to marry anybody they want, even if a boy marries a boy or a girl marries a girl."
Skye tilts her head. "You mean girls can love girls and boys can love boys?" She asks.
"Absolutely," Anthony butts in. "It's just the way that you're born and raised."
"You mean I can love a girl?"
Both Ian and Anthony look back and nod. "We'd still love you."
Skye blinks. "You mean you love me?" Everyone begins getting out of the car and Ian opens the trunk.
"Of course we love you. You're our daughter, Skye," Ian replies with a smile and a big bear hug for Skye, who laughs.
Ian and Anthony carry in some of Skye's stuff. Skye walks silently behind them, smiling.
"So, Skye... Would you like a tour?" Anthony asks her. She nods.
"You asshole. Leaving me to carry ask her stuff in," Ian whispers. Anthony giggles and kisses him.
"I'll make you something later," he promises in return. Ian smirks.
"Fine."
Skye bounces up and down with anticipation. "Can I whisper, too?" She shouts.
Anthony laughs. "Sure."
Anthony holds Skye's hand as he shows her around the apartment. She listens at attention and laughs at Anthony from time to time.
"Do you know the song Home, by Phillip Phillips?" Skye randomly blurts.
Anthony blinks. "I don't think so."
Skye gasps. "Look it up now!" She demands. Anthony does as he's told and laughs at the irony.
"What made you think of this song?" Anthony asks.
Skye smiles. "Because you're my family and this is my home!" She exclaims, hugging Anthony. "I love you, Daddy!"
Anthony almost lets a tear escape his face. "I love you, too."
