Most Angelic Voice

As he walked to his classes he noted that the date was Sirius' birthday. While Regulus would have usually bought him a card and a present. He didn't bother this year, not that his brother would notice, he never liked what he bought him, he might have appreciated a card, though the card would quickly be beaten by a present from Potter.

Just a few days since he had seen Tamara, seemed like forever, if it weren't for Barty keeping him busy, he would have been bored out of his mind. He spotted Sirius with James he didn't seem happy despite it being his birthday, he quickly looked away as Sirius noticed him.

"I'll see you in the common room, I've got to talk to Reg," he said.

Regulus clenched his jaw praying he could avoid him at all cost. As he took a sharp turn down onto an unfamiliar corridor, he glanced around he never knew this hallway existed dust covered with portraits and murky floors, a flicker of candlelight drew his attention away.

As he neared the light, the sound of an angelic voice pulled him closer, for a moment he could have sworn it sounded like Tamara. He hesitated as he opened the door, it was slammed shut, before he could enter, he quickly spun around.

"You shouldn't be down here," Professor Slughorn said, gesturing for him to leave,

"I apologise, Professor, I didn't realise this hall was here,"

"Ah, well best to stay clear," he gently guided him further away.

"Professor, might I ask, who was that singing,"

"Singing?" he questioned, "I'm not sure of what you are hearing, but I didn't hear anything,"

"I heard someone singing, she sounded beautiful,"

"Well, maybe there's someone on your mind, why don't you go find your friends," he nodded.

The professor smiled at him as he went along his way, Horace's expression changed and he walked faster than his usual speed to the headmaster's office. He waited for the gargoyle to reveal the staircase to Professor Dumbledore's office, as he rushed up the stairs Dumbledore eyed Slughorn's eagerness to speak with him.

"Headmaster, the corridor on floor five, a student was drawn to the room with light,"

"Impossible," Dumbledore stated, "no one has ever been drawn there before, many students aren't aware the corridor exists,"

"This student did, he claimed to have heard singing, beautiful singing," piquing the headmaster's interest.

"Would you bring him to me, I like to see for myself,"

The next morning, Regulus was excused from his morning classes to accompany Professor Dumbledore on his morning duties. He rarely had anything to do with his headmaster, he didn't show much appreciation for his Slytherin students, heavily favouring the other houses Gryffindor above all.

He noted that they were heading towards the corridor he found, he heard the singing again. Although this time, it didn't sound angelic it sound like a high-pitched scream, nothing like the voice he heard before. He noticed, that Dumbledore kept glancing down at him.

'Had he walked me down he on purpose?'

"Professor, forgive me for asking but is there a reason I've been pulled from my classes," he asked

"Professor Slughorn informed me that he had selected you to attend his Slugclub meetings,"

"Yes, they've been quite informative,"

"Do you hear that?" he asked, Regulus thought before he answered.

"What are you talking about?" he questioned, "I don't hear anything, Professor,"

"Must be my old age, run along to your next class, I'll be fine from here,"

Tamara accompanied her father along with her Thaleia, where they were heading she was unsure, they seemed to have been travelling for days. The further she travelled the colder she felt, despite having her father and sister with her she felt lost in her own world.

As they neared a beautiful lagoon, her eyes widened she had never seen so many Sirens before. Her father had a tactic for finding the perfect suitors for his daughters, Thaleia excitedly swam ahead of them their father quickly blocked her path.

"Don't rush for the first one you see, let them come to you," he warned

Thaleia composed herself, as the two sisters gazed across the handsome siren that desired a suitor. Some sirens the sisters immediately kept their distance from, knowing they were the man-eating kind of sirens. Their father offered them knowledge of the siren families that came.

"Stay clear of the older sirens, there's a reason they're still seeking a mate,"

"Father, what of that Siren?" Thaleia asked, "over there," she gestured, their father pondered for a moment.

"He's respectable and reliable, nice young siren," as they swam a little close, he approached them.

"Evening ladies, I'm Ervin would you care to join me?"

"Yes, I'd love to, Tamara are you coming?"

"No, thank you for the offer," her sister swam away with Ervin, she continued with her father, he had become curious about her activities she was different somehow quieter and more reserved.

After a few hours had gone by Thaleia and Ervin hadn't left each other sides they were laughing and telling each other about their families. Whereas Tamara hadn't shown any interest in anyone, her father eyed her hoping she would find her true love, her soulmate.

"Tamara has your mother spoken with you about today's trip,"

"Yes, she said I am to find my soulmate when I spoke with Sybil she explained how she felt when she met Dorian, I don't feel way at all, I feel cold and alone, am I broken?"

"No, you aren't broken, some just take time to find their true love, when you find him, I'm sure he'll be worthy of your love,"
