"You met a boy? Well what's his name? Come on, details!" My best friend Lilly asked as we sat across from each other on my bed.

"Well, his name is John, and apparently he's in that band, the Beatles? He was at the cafe I stopped in on Penny Lane." I couldn't help but  feel butterflies erupt just thinking about him.

"A musician." She swooned over dramatically throwing herself backward on the bed, resulting in my smacking her leg with a roll of my eyes as she picked herself back up.

"He has a gig tonight, at Litherland Town Hall," I began, hinting about what I was going to ask next.

"You already know I'm all for it," she laughed "but, will your mum be?" She grimaced.

"My mum won't know, she's out at her friends until late tonight." I smiled seeing an impressed look from her, as I usually wasn't the one to disobey my mother.

"Well than we have no time to waste," she slid herself off the bed hopping to her feet, "are his bandmates hot?" She asked intrigued.

I shrugged as I got up with a small laugh.

"What's gotten into you now suddenly anyway? Is this boy really worth the trouble?"she asked with slight surprise in her voice as we rushed down the stairs.

I turned back to her and stopped for a moment.

"You know, I really think he might be." I smiled, seeing her face melt into awe.

"You think what might be?" My dad appeared with a small grin having been eavesdropping, walking into the entranceway where we were stood.

"Can I borrow the car for a few hours? I promise to be back before mum comes home." I smiled the way I always did to try and convince my dad to let me do something, I was his soft spot.

"Alright, don't tell your mother I let you though, and don't make me regret this because, you know-" His sentence trailing off.

"Yes, I know." I spoke with a sigh.

"Where's she going?" My sixteen year old brother Max inquired.

"Nowhere that you'll want to go." I sighed looking at him impatiently.

"Bring me back some sweets, and I'll consider my silence." He gave a smug grin before walking off.

I groaned in protest as Lilly pulled me along, the two of us going outside to the car getting in and beginning to drive off.

After I had gotten the blackmailed sweets for one of my sibling's silence, we had made it to Litherland Town Hall.

"Alright, do I look okay? Not, too much?" I asked fixing the black mini skirt I wore overtop of black stockings, wearing a blue turtleneck and a long beige overcoat on top.

"You know, now that you said something, I don't love that shade of blue." She teased sarcastically causing me to roll my eyes with a grin as we made our way to the door.

Once we'd endured the line and payed the cover charge, we walked in to see a whole bunch of young people dancing to the opening act, as after all it was a dance.

"Do you know how to do the twist?" I asked Lilly excitedly, seeing her eyes flash fearfully.

"I can't dance."

"You can an will." I smirked taking her hand and bringing her further out on the dance floor to start to dance, learning immediately she really couldn't dance.

"I've seen more rhythm from my eighty year old grandmother." I laughed seeing her stop.

"At least I still have all my teeth." She quipped back with a smug smirk.

The bands had switched soon after and it was the Beatles coming onstage, the crowd of people cheering for them and immediately getting closer to the stage to watch.

"Hello there," John had spoke with a smirk looking around while he fixed his mic, the crowd cheering again, "Wir sind die Beatles." John said, obviously putting the German he'd just learned to good use from his trip.

"And this is, Long Tall Sally, sung by none other than Paul McCharmley, Paul-" John said  with a German accent, motioning over to the bassist who was trying not to laugh at his band mate's ridiculous accent.

The bassist counted them down and they started with a bang, grabbing everyone in the rooms attention.

"Gonna tell Aunt Mary, 'bout Uncle John, he claims he has the music but he has a lot of fun, oh baby-" Paul shouted sounding like little Richard, electrifying the crowd, everyone immediately enthralled by them.

Their set list continued on with the same high energy, but when Johns squinted eyes finally found me in the crowd, it felt like everything stopped. I could tell without the glasses he'd been wearing at the cafe he couldn't really tell if who he saw was me though he had a pretty good idea as his gaze was stuck to me.

I waved confirming his thoughts and he smirked back at me, causing me to blush profusely.

"Get a room." Lilly whispered in my ear.

I laughed breaking away from John's gaze and looking at her smile, she was starting to see the appeal of John.

"This next one, is one called, Ain't She Sweet, John," Paul passed the spotlight over to John , imitating the German accent like John had done earlier on.

He began to sing and I felt myself beginning to fall for him, though I had barley even met him.

"-Just cast an eye, in her direction. Oh me oh my, ain't that perfection?" John sang further into the song, smiling over to me with a wink.

My heart melted and I could hear Lilly squeal over the music excitedly.

Their performance was soon over, and it was getting close to the time my mother would be home.

"Aren't you going to go talk to him?" She encouraged, knowing I was a chicken and would have to be pushed to go over.

"Hold on," I began as I watched John and his band mates coming out from backstage close to where we were, Johns eyes focused on where Lilly and I were.

"Go to him, I'll wait in the car, hurry it up though, because your mum." She smirked knowingly, holding out her hand.

I placed the keys in them and she hurried off. I began to walk over to him hesitantly, my nervousness consuming me, but knowing I'd regret not going.

He smiled widely as we finally came to a stop in front of each other, "you came."

"I wouldn't have missed it." I watched as his reddened cheeks from jumping onstage became a bit redder, him looking almost meek.

"I've got more gigs coming up, you might just have to stick around then." He grinned.

"I might just have to." I agreed trying not to grin too widely.

His band mates came up behind him, one of them grabbing his shoulder chummily.

"John, who's this?" The doe eyed boy who I learned was Paul asked with a small smirk, obviously getting the wrong idea.

"Elle." He looked like he were getting uncomfortable suddenly with his mates watching him.

"Elle," Paul smiled, a sly grin on his lips seeming to commend John.

John glared at Paul obviously seriously annoyed, but Paul didn't seem to notice.

"It was a wonderful show." I said to divert the conversation, complimenting them. I felt slightly uncomfortable myself with all their eyes on me.

Johns bandmates all looked like they were waiting for John to say something in response, stupid grind on their faces.

Johns face faltered for a moment before a smug smirk appeared on his face.

"Well, you'd be shocked what kind of show I can put on." John cocked an eyebrow looking at me the same way Paul just had, obviously trying to impress his mates.

I became taken aback as his band mates all chuckled.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Excuse me?" I felt the feelings I had initially for John disappear instantly, replaced with disgust for what I'd just heard.

"I believe I made it clear." He had a sarcastic grin made me furious, hearing his bandmates only becoming more entertained.

This was far from the boy I thought I'd met at that cafe.

"You're a pig." I shook my head in disbelief steaming from the ears, turning on my heel quickly and storming off, cursing him under my breath.

I heard him call after me but it became a distant sound as I made it outside, upset I had believed he was someone who cared. I was probably just some conquest to him.

"Elle," I heard John call catching up to me.

I turned to see he was alone, looking desperate. He wasn't nearly as tough as he'd been acting just then inside.

"I'm sorry-" he began as he stopped in front of me.

"-I'm just going to go home." I spoke quietly, finding it hard to meet his eyes as my hopes were absolutely crushed.

"-I swear I didn't mean it, it's just what the lads expect of me, that's not who I really am." He pleaded hoping I could understand why he'd just been such an arse inside to gain props from his mates.

"No one made you say those things, John. Really, I wasted my time this past week anticipating today, I thought you actually might've respected me." I spoke somewhat regretfully, seeing his expression drop even further.

"I'll see you around." I scoffed before he had the chance to say anything else, walking out to the car feeling any spark of joy surrounding John being snuffed out.

As I got into the car, Lilly immediately took notice of my sour expression.

"What happened?" She grabbed my arm lightly, sadness in her voice.

"Just- remind me to never go out on a whim again." Was all I said before we began driving, the ride being relatively silent as neither of us really knew what to say.

The worst part of it is that I couldn't just forget him, he was stuck in my head and had been for the past week. His laugh, smile, I couldn't believe that lad trying to show off in front of his mates was really him.

When I had gotten home after dropping Lilly off at home, I walked in to see my mother waiting for me on the couch.

"Eleanor Whittaker."
