What Did The Seven Ever Do To You!?

Warning: crazy fangirl rant ahead. Preceed with caution

Okay, so Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus are some of my favorite series. The Titans Curse, The Battle of Olympus, Son of Neptune, Mark or Athena, and House of Hades to be more specific.(And BoO sucked in my opinion. No Percy/Annabeth POVs and the defeat Gaia by making her fall asleep!! They defeated the earth itself by making it SLEEP! I was so disappointed considering Rick is my favorite author like EVER!)

Now back to the actual rant...

So like I said, I love Rick's work-I've even been rereading a few of his series now.

It's natural for writers to either
A) read fanfic of their favorite series and possibly tick off the author by correcting everything
B) write fanfic of their favorite series'
Or
C) do both A and B

I chose C.

PJO fanfics were actually the first I've ever written, and pretty much made me love writing, just like how Rick made me love reading.

I first started writing them in sixth grade-in 2015. I had preordered the fifth Heroes of Olympus book and needed something to channel that PJO energy into. It first started as a writing assignment, and soon turned into something just for me. I never published my PJO story because I hadn't heard of Wattpad then and I probably never will.

Anyways, because of my love of the series, I started reading fanfics about a year ago. I fade in and fade out of reading them. I can go months not even thinking about the series, then stay up all night reading stories about it.

Right now, is a fade in time.

BoO kinda made it feel as if Percy's story was completed, though Trials of Apollo and Magnus Chase quickly dismissed that so YASSS.

Anyways, like I said, I've been rereading many of Rick's books and I finished the second Magnus Chase book for the first time and when Annie basically said Percy would be back I screamed.

So now I needed fanfics to read until fall when the next book comes out.

One AMAZING fanfic is called the New Avenger by bex1112
Another one is Lost Memories by music_and_literature

Now I like these two because THEY DON'T KILL OFF THE SEVEN FROM THE HEROES OF OLYMPUS SERIES!??

I can start a PJO fanfic loving it, grammar's amazing, nice format, all of that...
But if I see that the Seven have been killed but Percy survived, nopeeeeeeee.

I just don't see why that's such a big plot used. I mean, a lot of times it's a Avenger crossover(which I completely love) but it's so common. Percy being the only one to survive is so overused and I just can't see it.

Anyways, I just feel like when you kill off everyone like that(especially his Wise Girl) it sets a basic plot.

*Percy survived while everyone he loves dies(parents excluded)
*He becomes crazy depressed
*Avengers end up finding him when he does something either life threating or they're ordered to
*Perce stays with them and gets better
*All while he was probably made and outcast by the camps/Gods or he wants nothing to do with them

Basically basic

But I can't say anything because my stories are crazy basic...

And I just used over 500 words to complain about fanfiction.

I think I'd be great at CinemaSins.
