twenty-one || the words I finally say after years

Taehyun was so glad Han River was just only a few minutes away from the café. The drive over there was so easy and not very time-consuming, however finding the spot where he and Beomgyu had their little picnic was a struggle.

After a few more minutes of walking, Taehyun saw a letter attached to a tree. "Oh thank god." he breathed out in relief knowing that nobody stole the letter and that he managed to find the spot the two had their picnic at.

Walking up to the tree he carefully took it off and smiled, before he could open it the sudden blast of his phone going off distracted him. Pulling it out he looked at the ID and saw it was just Huening Kai calling him.

"Hello?" Taehyun said after answering it and putting the phone up to his ear and the letter in his hand as he started walking back to his car.

"Heyo Heyo! What ya doing Taehyunie!"

Taehyun smiled slightly from how energetic his best friend was, "I'm literally on a scavenger hunt looking for Beomgyu hyung. It's been three hours Kai I'm so tired!"

A soft giggle was heard from the other side of the phone making Taehyun glare at nothing, "Are you laughing at me?" He asked feeling a little offended. He was out here suffering and collecting things!

"Yes, I am! But I think it's sweet how Beomgyu hyung is making you do a scavenger hunt to find him...Have you told him your feelings yet?"

"I planned to but now I'm out and around doing random ass shit!" Taehyun whined, he was so frustrated! He just needed to tell Beomgyu something important now he's like a child hunting eggs for easter day!

"That's so funny, did you get a letter? You should read the letter!"

Taehyun pursed his lips and sighed, once he was near his car he quickly got in and sat down. Getting comfortable he opened up the letter and started reading it out loud for Kai.

Do you remember this spot?
The spot where we had our picnic together and talked about what we want our future to be! Just two more locations and you'll find me, dear, I promise! Now for the next hint:

Taehyun smiled slightly already knowing where the second to last location is, "Alright Huening I need to drive, I'll talk to you later okay?" He said wishing goodbye to the other before hanging up.

Taehyun sat there for a few minutes before furrowing his eyebrows and realizing something.

"Wait how did he know I had a letter...?"

"Hell to the fucking no ain't no way I'm going through that goddamn forest."

Taehyun frowned staring at the trees in front of him. This was the exact place he and Beomgyu traveled through to go to the cliffside where he saw the most beautiful scene ever, but right now he isn't even going to step into that creepy forest!

If only Beomgyu was here with him then he would go into it, but nope! The sun was already setting and he didn't want to step one foot...What if he was killed? or kidnapped? or even eaten by wolves?! He was too young to die and he would die with regrets!

Looking around with a frown his eyes landed on a bench that had a letter on it. His anxiety flew right out the window, he was so grateful that Beomgyu didn't make him travel through that scary ass forest just for a letter!

Taehyun quickly grabbed the letter and bolted back to his car, slamming the door shut. Most of the snacks and food he got were already gone because he took a snack break, can you blame him though? He's been up and around all day he needed some food!

"Last letter, please- PLEASE let me see you hyung," Taehyun begged and opened it up,

Were you scared to enter the forest? ㅋㅋ
I knew you would be scared! You clung onto me so tightly, but don't worry! Remember i'm here to protect you no matter what!

Taehyun had to think for a moment about what that hint meant, he was so drained that all his thinking juice evaporated. The spot where we released our wishes? What wishes?

The male furrowed his eyebrows thinking hard until his eyes widened. "I'M SO STUPID-" He groaned loudly and started up the car again.

Taehyun was out of breath. Once he reached downtown he ran towards the spot where he and Beomgyu met up after the performance. Today was the last day of the festival and everyone was packing things up so he was grateful that there weren't a lot of people.

"Hyung?" Taehyun called out. He waited for a few minutes but was only met with silence and no elder. He huffed and fell onto his knees feeling upset. The letter told him this was the last spot- where was he?! He had spent all day looking for him and he wasn't even here!

The male sighed and stared off onto the lake thinking for a moment, yet in the corner of his eye, he saw something pink sway in the water. Turning his head he saw a pink lantern washed up onto the shore, just slightly rocking back and forth.

Slowly standing up, he walked over to the pink lantern and smiled. This looked like the exact lantern he and the elder released a few days ago when wishing for something they desired. Picking it up he noticed a small note inside of the little pocket.

"How did he manage to get this again?" He mumbled, the thought of Beomgyu suddenly visiting that shady ass van again didn't really surprise him. Grabbing the note inside he opened it up and read it,

Go to the rooftop of Serendipity Hotel

Taehyun's eyes widened before dropping the lantern. Quickly pulling his phone out he saw that it was 9:45 PM, he still had time.

"H-Hi I need to go to the rooftop..." Taehyun said out of breath to the front desk lady. She eyed him weirdly and looked at her computer before her eyes widened. "Ahh, you're that person that guy is waiting for? He rented the whole rooftop out!" She said making Taehyun's mouth drop. Hyung...WHAT THE FUCK.

Taehyun shook his head and thanked her before quickly running to the elevator. Pressing it open he quickly walked inside and pressed the rooftop button, feeling it go up way too slowly.

This was his chance, he was finally going to see Beomgyu after this long ass day. The elder has been on his mind nonstop, his heart was going crazy now that Beomgyu is just a few minutes away from him.

The elevator came to a stop as it slowly opened showing the beautiful scenery of the rooftop.

It had a giant gazebo setup on one side and a pool across the other. In the middle was a walkway that had a few sets of stairs leading to an open balcony area to stare out into the city.

Taehyun quickly walked out and looked around for a specific ravenette, walking up the few steps his whole world froze seeing the person he wanted to see the most.

"Beomgyu hyung."

The elder stood there with a wide smile. The faint golden hue shined down on him perfectly as he wore a loose white shirt that flowed in the wind, it was tucked into some black jeans and his hair was down loose shaping his face beautifully. And Taehyun could stare at him all day.

"Darling, you've found me."

Taehyun's eyes twinkled with water. Before he knew it he was running up to the elder who had his arms wide open.

Taehyun huffed slightly when he collided with the elder. Wrapping his arms around Beomgyu's neck he hugged him tightly, afraid that if he let go the elder would disappear again. "You're so mean hyung! You made me search for hours for you!"

Beomgyu gladly hugged the younger back, sliding his arms around Taehyun's thin waist he pulled him closer, nuzzling his face into the red hair smiling. "But wasn't it fun? I made you go to places that I found special."

"My dear, why are you crying?" Beomgyu asked worriedly, he heard the soft sniffles coming from Taehyun. He instantly unwrapped his arms and cupped the younger's face gently making him look up at him. "I-I thought that- that you tricked me at the river! I thought you just played tricks on me again."

"Don't you remember?" Beomgyu asked wiping away Taehyun's tears. "I promised you that I would never leave you." He said which made Taehyun's heart explode, even more, this was the moment he's been waiting for all day.

Just to be in Beomgyu's hold.

"Hyung...What did you need to tell me? Why did it have to make me travel literally everywhere?"

Beomgyu stood there for a moment in silence making Taehyun nervous. He felt the elder's warm hands leave his face making him a little upset until he felt them wrap around his own hands.

"Taehyun-ah," Beomgyu spoke softly, staring into his eyes with the most comforting gaze ever. "Remember that day we met when you just moved to Seoul?" He suddenly asked, Taehyun was quite confused but he just nodded.

"On that day, I felt some strange connection towards you...I know it sounds so weird but the moment I laid my eyes on you- I just wanted to be your friend straight away!" Beomgyu said making Taehyun's heart swell. "But that day where you left me, I just couldn't accept it. That's why I played pranks, tricks, anything just to get you to notice me and I know I should've done better but...It just felt right when you would pay attention to me."

"I didn't know why I felt that until seventh-grade Taehyunie," Beomgyu said tucking a few red strands behind Taehyun's ear making the younger's face flush red. "For years this feeling stuck with me...I think today is the day I finally express them."

"Taehyun, do you remember when you told me you've been having dreams?" He asked, the redhead tilted his head in confusion and nodded like a lost puppy as he listened closely to the elder.

"Taehyun. I've been having the same exact dreams but..." Beomgyu said before taking a breath. "But in those dreams w-we're married."

Taehyun's eyes widened after hearing that. The thought of being married to Beomgyu made fireworks explode in his stomach, normally he would be weirded the fuck out that the elder had dreams about him like that but since he was heads over heels it made him feel so...happy?

"That's why...I wanted to finally tell you after all these years, that I really hope that you make my dreams become reality because- in..in my dreams you loved me back! There wasn't a day where my love faded for you- It just kept growing...You're so perfect Taehyun, I just couldn't stay away from you."

"Taehyun-ah, I love you- I loved you for years!"

Taehyun's whole world froze. His heart was beating way too fast as the constant wave of happiness hit him, hearing those words from Beomgyu sparked something in him that made him feel so fucking happy.

The elder has loved him for years.

And he just started loving him back...

"I-If you- If you don't- accept my feelings it's okay but- I-I-"

"Say it again."

Beomgyu was taken aback for a second at what Taehyun had just said, tilting his head for a moment he watched as the younger's head slowly went down. "Please say it again."

"I-I love you," Beomgyu repeated again. He watched how still the younger was making him anxious. Was he mad? Was it a mistake confessing now? Did he not like it? Did he hate driving around the city for hours? So many thoughts ran through Beomgyu's mind making him nervous.

"H-Hyung," He heard the younger speak, a small voice crack laced in his tone signifying that he was crying. Beomgyu's heart shattered hearing how weak Taehyun sounded.

"You idiot!" Taehyun yelled at him with tears flowing down his face again, he softly punched the elder's chest and looked up at him. Beomgyu expected to see an angry saddened look on his face, but to his surprise instead, it was a bright happy smile.

A smile that he's never seen the younger make before.

"I wanted to say it first! Y-You, idiot!" Taehyun scoffed and punched Beomgyu again making him huff out, the elder was confused as he stared at the redhead. "W-What?" He mumbled.

"You idiot! I love you too!"

HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

Beomgyu's mouth dropped open trying to comprehend whether what he heard was correct. Did...Taehyun just...? He had a hunch but he wasn't fully sure...But now- oh my god.

Happiness and excitement bloomed inside of Beomgyu hearing those words from Taehyun, he pulled the younger closer and hugged him tightly. "I love you hyung." Taehyun breathed out hugging the male back.

"Are you crying?" Taehyun suddenly pulled back from the hug seeing tears run down Beomgyu's face, yet there was a wide smile. Beomgyu just chuckled and shook his head, resting his forehead on Taehyun's shoulder he held him tightly by the waist unable to stop the tears.

"Y-You don't know how happy I am hearing those words from you Taehyunie. It's been years, and now- now I'm so happy." He said making Taehyun's heart flutter even more.

The ravenette slowly lifted his head and stared at Taehyun, his eyes slowly making their way down to the younger's trembling lips. "Taehyun..." He whispered brushing his thumb over the bottom of the younger lips making Taehyun flinch slightly. "Taehyun can-"

Beomgyu was suddenly cut off after being pulled forward, his lips making contact with some soft ones. Beomgyu's eyes widened realizing what had just happened.

Taehyun is kissing him.

Beomgyu immediately kissed back and closed his eyes, pulling Taehyun closer by the waist. He couldn't help but smile into the kiss knowing that Taehyun accepted his feelings.

It felt too amazing to be real.

Years of loving, falling, simping for the younger, and rejecting anybody and everyone for Taehyun seemed never-ending, but here Beomgyu was. His seven-year crush kissing him! After a few more minutes the two pulled away from each other for air. Beomgyu stared into Taehyun's widened doe eyes.

A small chuckle left Beomgyu's lips seeing how red Taehyun had gotten. "Darling," Beomgyu said softly, caressing the youngers cheek just admiring how beautiful he looked under the sunset glow.

"Will you finally be mine?"

"Of course, hyung," Taehyun answered right away with a wide smile. The two couldn't help but finally feel complete, after weeks and weeks of hard work Beomgyu finally achieved his goal. He had to thank his dreams for convincing him to make bolder moves.

Beomgyu pulled Taehyun in for another kiss after hearing his answer. The younger gladly accepted and pulled him closer feeling a sense of euphoria wash over him.

"YOOOOO LET'S FUCKING GO!!!"

The sudden scream made both boys flinch and separate from each other, Beomgyu held a strong grip on Taehyun's waist and pulled him closer protectively.

"Kai?!" Taehyun said in shock seeing his best friend standing there with a huge ass camera- Actually...It wasn't just Kai there-

It was their fucking whole-ass friend group and Beomgyu's band mates standing right there watching them!

"OH MY GOSH!! YOU DID IT BEOM!!" Jeongin squealed loudly and ran up to them excitedly. Eventually, the rest of them ran up to the two and surrounded them saying compliments or congratulating the two.

"They knew?" Taehyun whispered loud enough for Beomgyu to hear.

"Of course, they knew, they helped me set this whole thing up, darling."

Taehyun couldn't help but feel so happy knowing that they all helped Beomgyu set up his horrible scavenger hunt, his eyes slowly looked at his brother who stood there with a soft smile on his face. In an instant Taehyun realized what happened, Soobin hyung witnessed me kiss Beomgyu hyung?!:?;!3&3?;&3)&2

Beomgyu couldn't help but laugh at Taehyun's horrified judgmental reaction when he realized Soobin watched him kiss him. Beomgyu slowly tilted his head to the side and made eye contact with Yeonjun who gave him a silent thumbs up, mouthing the words 'you did it.'

Beomgyu smiled widely and pulled Taehyun closer, practically back-hugging the male. He couldn't help but think about one thing that made him feel so so happy.

We're finally complete.
