"Ugh! I can't believe we had to force our way to the front! Seriously do people not know what 'excuse me' means?!" Yeonjun complained throwing his arms around.

Beomgyu had just left the group to go rehearse thirty minutes ago and the struggle to get to the front to see their friend properly was almost hell. Taehyun had almost gotten pushed into a random group of people, Kai nearly got his phone stolen, some girls came up to Soobin asking for his phone number, and Yeonjun fought with five old people!

"I still find it so hilarious how hyung dragged Soobin hyung away from the girls," Kai said while giggling. Yeonjun glared at the younger and whacked his head making the other wince in pain.

Taehyun sighed and rolled his eyes, he was too busy wanting to find the best spot to see Beomgyu. He just wanted to see how hard the elder worked for this, especially since it was announced that Beomgyu had self-written the song. "Can you guys sit down? Someone is going to push you aside and steal your seat if you don't."

Yeonjun and Kai quickly sat down and continued their bickering, literally being the loudest duo in the whole crowd which was quite embarrassing.

"Are you excited, Hyun?"

Taehyun looked over to his brother and hummed having to think for a moment. Was he excited? For the past month, there was nonstop talk about how wonderful the song that Beomgyu made was and that had the redhead interested. However, he felt weird supporting Beomgyu after these years, if he still hated the elder (he still does but not as much) he would've scoffed and walked off.

But now he felt...ecstatic. That fuzzy feeling in the pit of his stomach gave an odd vibe that it was right to be here and watch the elder. That it was the right decision to finally go to a lantern festival.

"You know, the songs Beomgyu wrote...They're really good."

"You got to hear it?" Taehyun asked tilting his head, he was surprised that Soobin was able to hear Beomgyu sing first, a faint sour emotion itched the back of Taehyun's mind just thinking about it. "I mean, duh. I'm the president and I have to make sure the songs he wrote are....school appropriate." Soobin sighed shaking his head.

"When do they perform?" Kai asked gaining the attention of the two siblings. "I think they're the sixth act, there's a bunch of other school districts here. Do you see the judges?" Yeonjun said and pointed out to a table with three people sitting down.

"I feel like we're on more like....America's Got Talent than a school event." Taehyun sighed leaning back into his chair. "Yeah but hopefully the judges don't scam us out of our win-"

"Hello everyone!"

All four boys looked up and saw a man walk out with a wide smile on his face, he was dressed in black dress pants and a white silk shirt that was tucked in nicely. His hair was styled nicely and topped off with a cool-looking hat.

"I'll be your host for today's competition! My name is Choi Jiung, leader of the announcement club for Ito Academy!" Jiung said and waved around, multiple students clapped and started cheering. A little small group not too far from the stage was cheering the hosts' names loudly.

"Now, let's get started with this show. I know you all are dying to see what all these districts have to offer! So let's introduce the first act with the students from Mago High!" Jiung said as four girls ran on stage all dressed up.

Taehyun leaned back in his chair more and looked at his phone, scrunching his eyebrows the loud cheers and shouts mixed with a song started blasting making the male look up. Just five more acts.

"Ten minutes!"

Beomgyu sighed loudly and placed his guitar down on the table. He held his chest and started doing breathing methods to get his nerves out. "Hey, are you okay?" Jaehyuk said walking up to the male.

"I-I'm fine- I'm just...nervous," Beomgyu said and picked up a water bottle, immediately opening it and taking long huge sips from it. He was nervous, actually scratch that he was fucking terrified. For the last month he was confident in his work, showing it off to his band mates and Soobin he thought he could do this.

But now facing the reality of a huge crowd with thousands of people in it, the other school acts that made cheers go louder and louder, the thought of performing in front of judges made his body shake with anxiety.

But the thing he was most nervous about, was whether he would impress Taehyun or not.

Every night he would practice his vocals and his guitar, every night he would take an hour or two to just focus on his work and make sure they were the best. Not only for Taehyun but everyone else, the burden of representing Ito Academy made him extremely nervous.

If he were to mess up, then the school would have a bad reputation.

"Don't be so scared, Beomgyu! If anything happens we're in this together." Heeseung said helping Minghao tune his guitar. Beomgyu sighed and nodded after placing the water bottle down. If he goes on stage like this then he wouldn't give his best.

"Hey! Beomgyu come here!" Jeongin said calling over the ravenette. Beomgyu walked over to the blonde and hummed in confusion. "Look!~" Jeongin said opening the backstage curtain a little bit wider.

Beomgyu poked his head out and scanned the area until his eyes landed on a specific redhead in the front row, staring at the current performers with stars in his eyes. Yet Beomgyu's heart clenched with joy seeing that his friends managed to get to the first row with no troubles.

"five minutes!"

"Tonight is your night Gyu," Jeongin said placing a hand on Beomgyu's shoulder making the elder look at him. "This is your night to finally show Taehyun how much you adore him, you never know when an opportunity like this one will come again."

Something inside Beomgyu sparkled brightly, the smile that slowly formed on his face showed an emotion like no other. He wanted to do his best, and he knew he would. All the nerves and anxiety in his body slowly withered away blooming new emotions.

"Hey, guys! We're on in two minutes hurry!" Jaehyuk shouted to them. Both boys smiled at each other and quickly walked over to the other three. "Alright guys," Beomgyu said and stretched his hand out with a confident smile.

"We've practiced all month, it may not be perfect now but do your best okay?" He said earning a loud shout of agreement and a few nods from the other four. The boys placed their hands on top of each other and smiled. "Let's represent Ito Academy with all our hearts!"

All five boys cheered and pushed their hands down before quickly waving them high in the air, looking at each other with pure smiles on their faces.

"Now presenting, Ito Academy with two self-written songs by the student Choi Beomgyu!"

Taehyun's head instantly shot up as his eyes widened. Looking to the side he saw Yeonjun holding up a big banner with Beomgyu's face on it with encouraging words. "Hyung when the fuck did you get that?!"

"What? I made it during the show! Isn't it wonderful?" Yeonjun said and showed off the poster proudly. Soobin and Taehyun stared at the poster with the most unimpressed look ever because one, where the fuck did Yeonjun get the supplies for that, and two, how the fuck did nobody notice him making it?

"Hey, guys stop fucking around, look it's Beomgyu hyung!" Kai said tapping (more like slapping) Yeonjun's shoulder to gain their attention. The younger pointed up at the stage where all five boys walked out.

Taehyun's mouth dropped slightly seeing how enchanting the elder looked. Somehow, in just one hour, Beomgyu had gotten even more prettier. The bright white light hit his face showcasing the glittery eyeshadow he had on, the light captured his face ever so beautifully showcasing his beauty to the whole world.

"Hello everyone!" Beomgyu spoke into the mic after tapping it twice to make sure it was working. The loud sounds of cheers were given back shocking Beomgyu slightly, the small laughter of his bandmates was heard from behind him because of his reaction.

"We are Ito Academy's boy group! We don't have a cool name because we forgot so...sorry!" Beomgyu said smiling cheekily, but it seems like nobody had a negative reaction to what he said.

"Okay, now on with the show..." Beomgyu said and smiled, the lights dimmed slightly as some of them began changing colors. Taehyun could see Jaehyuk getting ready to play the song. "I'd like to say thank you, to the special person who inspired me," Beomgyu said.

Taehyun couldn't help but feel weird when Beomgyu looked directly at him when he said that, perhaps it was just a mere coincidence but it made Taehyun want to watch more.

The soft crash of the ride cymbal echoed out along with the soft sounds as the piano played mixing in with the soft strumming of a guitar as Jeongin went closer to the mic and started the song off.

After that, the music began to become more upbeat as the boys began playing their instruments with pure joy. The strum of the electric guitar Beomgyu held played out beautifully with the melody of the drum in the back as the male played around with a wide smile on his face.

Heeseung sang the first part as Jeongin finished off the second part. The soft soothing voices of the duo excited the crowd more, and Taehyun couldn't help but stare in awe.

Minghao said as the instrumental slowly became more and more upbeat before the chorus came making the crowd go even wilder as the boys played to their heart's content.

Jaehyuk and Heeseung lead the chorus as Jeongin followed in, the lyrics and their voices fitting the song perfectly as they played around. Taehyun couldn't help but stare at Beomgyu who had the brightest smile on his face, and the redhead just couldn't wait for the male part.

Minghao sang as his sentence was harmonized with Jeongin's voice before backing away from the microphones as they played out, Beomgyu looked over to Taehyun and had only one thought in his mind: Impress Taehyun.

Beomgyu finally sang, his deep voice echoing out as Jaehyuk sang along with him mixing their two voices together which made Taehyun's heart flutter even more.

It was no doubt that Taehyun was impressed, everyone in the crowd was impressed. He felt Soobin grab his arm and lifted him making the male confused yet he realized it gave him a more clear view of the elder.

Taehyun was enchanted, but it wasn't enough, he needed to hear more of the elder who looked so happy on stage.

Jeongin and Heeseung began singing the chorus, before they were done the lights dimmed down as one shined above Beomgyu brightly who stood there with a smile staring at Taehyun while strumming his guitar as the music lowered a little, his voice supporting the keyboard in the back as he got closer to the microphone maintaining eye contact with the redhead.

Beomgyu sang the bridge softly, his eyes never leaving Taehyun who couldn't help but feel his face heat up as if the elder was saying it to him. The music began to become more upbeat as Beomgyu broke eye contact facing the crowd.

Beomgyu sang off the last line closing his eyes before his hands focused on getting the right notes as the boys played off until they quickly cut off.

The sound of loud cheering exploded out around them as Beomgyu slowly opened his eyes, his heart was pacing fast as he looked around seeing Heeseung and Jaehyuk staring at him with widened joy-filled eyes.

"We did it!"

He saw Jeongin mouth over to him. Beomgyu couldn't help but feel dazed in euphoria. He quickly turned and looked over to where his friend was sitting. His face scrunched up slightly by the horrible poster Yeonjun made, his eyes slowly rolled over to Taehyun who stood there with admiration in his eyes.

Taehyunie... Beomgyu thought just wanting to jump down from the stage and run to the male. He had finally conveyed his words into a song for Taehyun. He hoped that the younger would get the hint, but he knew it wouldn't be that easy, yet the urge to just run down and embrace the male was huge.

"Wow! That was amazing, you just have to expect something amazing from Ito Academy's selected students." Jiung said walking over to the males standing by Beomgyu.

"Tell me, Beomgyu-ssi, how do you feel?"

"Enchanted," Beomgyu replied right away while staring at Taehyun. The crowd cheered him on as he looked up and gave a wide smile while waving saying a big thank you.

"Now that this is over, let the judges write down the score as you guys can rest up for round two!" Jiung said and smiled.

Beomgyu thanked the male and quickly went over to Jaehyuk to help him bring his drum sets down. Yet he felt the lingering eyes of a particular redhead on him as he walked away.

Taehyun watched Beomgyu walk off stage with bright eyes, he couldn't express the emotions he felt after the song and hearing Beomgyu's sweet deep vocals. "Taehyun, what do you think?" Soobin smiled at his brother who was entranced.

"I-I..." Taehyun stuttered trying to think of the proper words. "I loved it hyung- His voice it- It was beautiful!" Taehyun said looking down with a wide smile as he thought about the ravenette. He couldn't wait for the second round to start.

Taehyun rubbed the sweater he wore slowly, Beomgyu never took it back. He told the younger that it would get even more colder tonight so he wanted Taehyun to keep it. But knowing it belonged to Beomgyu, Taehyun couldn't help but feel over the moon, just giggling to himself with a goofy wide smile.

Soobin smiled and looked at Yeonjun who gave him the same knowingly smile. Beomgyu had slowly won this game, his idea blooming in the most amazing success ever.

Taehyun just needed one more push before he could finally know what those unknown feelings are that bubbled inside of him every time he saw the elder.

a/n : writing this chapter made me lose my absolute mind LMAO, but I really enjoyed using seventeen's song for this part. of course, the next chapter will be the second song/round.
