Chapter 8: Just tell me

After Sawyer left, I lied down with Vincent, and then Nate left.

I woke up, feeling warmth against my stomach and back. My eyes opened, and my hazy vision returned to normal after a few seconds of getting adjusted to the lighting.

I looked up, and saw Vincent, with his arm around my waist. I blushed, and noticed he was still asleep. He is gorgeous, even if he is sleeping. He looked so peaceful, and it made me happy to see him at ease.

My head still hurt, and I laid my head back down on the pillow. I felt Vincent move beside me, and he looked over my shoulder to see if I was sleeping. I looked up at him, and he smiled. "Good morning." He said in a sleepy voice. Dear Lord. His sleepy voice is so incredibly attractive.

"Good morning." I answered, and then Vincent realized his arm was around my waist. He hurriedly pulled it back, and blushed. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize..." He looked at me in total shock, and I just smiled.

"I didn't mind. I was pretty comfortable." I replied, and he blushed even more intensely. Why is he so shy? I don't get it. I thought sadly.

A nurse walked into the room, and narrowed her eyes when she saw us laying together. "Umm... Well... Mr. Calligan, you are free to leave now. Turns out, your injuries weren't as fatal as we thought they were. As for you, Ms. Sage, you are also free to leave whenever you please." She exited the room hurriedly, and I almost laughed.

Vincent looked down at me. I then realized we no longer had IVs.

"Hey, when did this happen?" I asked, looking down at the small band-aid on my wrist. He pursed his lips, and replied, "A nurse came in after you fell asleep, and removed the IVs. She said we could leave then, but you were asleep. I didn't want to wake you up, so I fell asleep too." He looked down shyly at his hands, and I smiled lightly. He's the sweetest boy ever. I thought, and his green eyes wandered shyly to mine.

"You didn't have to do that for me. You've only known me for three weeks." I answered, and he blushed. He bit his lip gingerly, and answered, "It's because I care about you."

His blush was intense. I blushed too, and then looked back over into his frightened emerald orbs. "I care about you too. That's why I was so scared when Sawyer told me you were in the hospital... You protected me from Josh, and I really owe you one. You're so kind and caring, and I just... I just..." I stopped myself, and Vincent looked into my eyes intensely. "You what?" He asked, and I took a deep breath. I can do this.

"I just like you... A lot... But it's okay if you don't feel the same, I'll understand-" He cut me off abruptly by saying, "I thought I made it obvious I like you. If anything I thought you wouldn't feel the same..." He mumbled, and I looked back into his green eyes, and grabbed his hand.

"I don't think I could ever feel this way about anybody else." I whispered, and his eyes widened.

"I feel exactly the same..." He answered, now even closer than before. I wasn't about to stop him from getting closer, I knew it would come to this eventually.

Vincent hesitantly put one hand on the side of my face, and began to lean in, when an all too familiar voice came from the hallway.

"A-Allison?"

I heard Vincent sigh in frustration, and I looked over to see Brayden standing in the hallway.

"I- umm... I'll go now." He then turned and walked away quickly.

"Shit..." I mumbled under my breath.

Vincent looked into my eyes, as if he still wanted to go through with this. But it's too awkward now, though...

"Umm... Let's go home now. I'm sure our parents were worried sick." Vincent mumbled, and gave me his hand. I accepted his help, and we both walked out together.

Once we got outside, Vincent laughed, and smacked his head lightly.

"What?" I asked, and he turned to me, smiling. "We don't have a ride!" He laughed, and then dialed a number on his phone quickly.

"Hello? Mom? I need you to come get Allison and I from the hospital. I know, I know... Okay, I'll see you in a few. Bye, Mom." He hung up, turned to me, then sighed in exhaustion. "Let's sit on that bench over there."

"Okay." I agreed, and then we both sat down on the bench.

He looked down into my eyes, and gestured for me to come closer.

We were now so close our legs were touching, and he put his arm around my waist. I leaned on his shoulder, and he smiled.

"Your really pretty." He smiled handsomely after he said that, and I blushed.

"Thank you." I whispered, and he gently put his hand on my face, and stroked my cheek with his thumb. His grip tightened on my shoulder a little, and I swallowed hard. I was starting to get nervous, because I had no idea what he was going to do.

"I need to tell you something, Allison." He whispered, his green eyes wandering from my eyes to my lips.

I knew now what he was planning. He isn't as shy as I had thought he was...

"Just tell me." I replied, and he began to lean in. "Trust me." He whispered, and he kissed me, his lips pressed softly against mine. His lips were soft and warm, and they moved in sync with mine.

Holy shit. Vincent knows how to kiss!

He broke away, and looked into my eyes wildly. "Wow."

I laughed a little, and we both heard a car pull up next to us. I saw an unfamiliar lady, who had Vincent's eyes. She got out of the car, crushing Vincent in a hug.

"Oh my God, I'm so glad your safe! And now grounded!" She cried, and Vincent's jaw dropped.

"I'm just kidding. Get in the car, you two. Your parents were worried sick!" She laughed, and we both got in the car, driving home in a comfortable silence.

I can't wait to see where this year will go.

What did you guys think of Allison and Vincent's first kiss? (I'm seriously regretting not writing him asking her out before that, but oh well) 🤗 Do you guys think Vincent totally changed? Tell me what you think, and don't forget to vote! 💗
