Chapter 23
A/N: Sorry I had a dance showcase earlier today so I was a bit busy to update. I'm so glad that it went well and I didn't fall flat on my face!!! Woohoo!!!

"You know," Ayesha said. "You're too good for this world."
"Thank you," Abhay laughed.
Sunny couldn't help but stare at them with envy. It was lunch time and they were waiting for Kabir and Sameer to arrive with their food.
"You could always walk over there and tell her you like her," Arjun said.
"Are you serious?" Sonia asked. "You can't just walk up to a girl and go 'I like you'. You need to do something romantic like bring her flowers or chocolates, go down on one knee..."
"He's just telling her his feelings," Arjun argued. "Not proposing or asking her to marry him."
"Can the both of you just shut up?" Sunny scolded.
"We're just trying to help," Arjun said.
"And things wouldn't change by just staring daggers at him," Sonia added.
"I know," Sunny replied.
"Know what?" Vishal said suddenly, surprising everyone.
"Nothing," Sunny mumbled.
Vishal looked at where they were staring at.
"I thought I told you guys to stop being so protective over Ayesha," Vishal said.
"We're not..." Sonia started before being cut off by Arjun.
"He likes her," Arjun said.
"Hey!" Sunny scolded as he covered Arjun's mouth.
"You..." Vishal sputtered out. "Like... Her...?"
"Shhhhh..." Sunny hushed Vishal.
Sonia smacked Arjun behind his head.
"You idiot!" Sonia scolded. "You can't just go around telling people that."
"Oi!" Ayesha shouted as she walked over to them. "What are you doing to my brother?"
"We're just fooling with him," Sunny replied as he immediately let go of Arjun. "Right?"
"You're all mad," Arjun said and stormed off.
Vishal's mouth hung wide, shocked at the revelation. He couldn't help but look back and forth between Ayesha and Sunny.
"I'm going to see if he's alright," Sonia announced.
"I'll come too," Ayesha echoed.
The two girls left the studio, leaving Vishal and Sunny together. Sunny sighed.
"Not a word," Sunny warned Vishal. "Especially not to Kabir."
Vishal put up his hands on defence.
"I'm not the one who's in love with my best friend's sister," Vishal remarked.
"Can you keep quiet?" Sunny snapped. "Do want everyone to know?"
"Why are you so ashamed to let people know?" Vishal asked in response. "Does Ayesha know?"
"No," Sunny answered. "Only Arjun, Sonia and now, you, know."
"Then tell her," Vishal replied.
"It's not so simple yaar," Sunny informed. "There's also him to consider." Sunny nodded at Abhay's direction.
"Why?" Vishal asked. "Does he like her?"
"I don't know," Sunny said. "He's good for her. Probably even better than me. At least, he has never broken her heart."
"That's true," Vishal replied. "But you and her have history."
"Don't make it sound so crude," Sunny remarked. "It's not like we dated. And that was a long time ago. We grew up, we changed, feelings changed. Did you know that she enrolled herself in a boarding school because of me? Or rather because she doesn't want to see me or be reminded of me? Ayesha hated me."
"I can't blame her there," Vishal commented. "Fine, if you can't ask her, ask Abhay. He's pretty cool."
"And let him do some noble 'self-sacrifice' thingy?" Sunny lamented. "No way. It would make me look like the bad guy. We're doing this fair and square. Fair play, healthy competition like gentlemen."
"You?" Sunny laughed. "A gentlemen? That's really a first. You sulk like a child whenever you lose."
"That's after," Sunny justified. "And I'm not going to lose this time."
"Ayesha isn't a prize to be won," Vishal told him.
"I know," Sunny replied.
At that moment, Ayesha returned with Sonia and Arjun. Instead of regrouping with the rest, Sonia joined her boyfriend.
"Arjun told me everything," Ayesha told Sunny. Immediately, Sunny tensed up. What the hell did Arjun say? "Are you nuts? Why didn't you tell me you guys were planning the after party for the tour?"
"It was supposed to be a surprise," Arjun answered.
"Exactly," Sunny played along. "Now that you know, it isn't a surprise anymore."
"I don't care," Ayesha said. "I want in on this."
"Fine," Sunny sighed. Now, he was supposed to plan a after party for the tour... Great! The things he does for love. "But we can't tell anyone else."
"Ok," Ayesha said, excitedly. "So, what were you guys planning?"
"Nothing so far," Sunny replied. "We're all too hungry to think. What were you talking about with Abhay just now, you guys looked pretty close."
"Sunny," Ayesha warned. "Stop it."
"Can't I be little bit curious?" Sunny asked.
"No," Ayesha replied. "It's none of your business."
Suddenly, the door swung open, revealing Sameer and Kabir with their lunch.
"Finally!" Arjun called out as he ran over to them.
"For as long as I known Arjun," Sunny told Ayesha. "I've never known a single moment where he's not hungry."
"You were the same when you were his age," Ayesha joked.
Sunny stuck out a tongue at Ayesha.
"Speaking about the same age," Ayesha said. "Did you know that Tara and Abhay were the same age only days apart."
"Nope," Sunny replied. "What else did he tell you?"
"Do you want me to tell you 3 weeks worth of conversation?" Ayesha asked. "And if you want to get to know more about him, why don't you just talk to him?"
"We do talk," Sunny muttered.
"Yeah right," Ayesha said sarcastically. "Aur main Jhansi ki Rani (And I'm the Queen of Jhansi)."
Sunny laughed.
Suddenly, Abhay came running up to the both of them.
"I brought you guys some food," Abhay offered. "You two seemed to be discussing something so I thought I'd grab something before the food runs out."
Abhay held out two boxes in front of them.
"Where's yours?" Ayesha asked Abhay.
"I'm going to get mine after this," he replied.
"Why don't you take one box and Sunny gets his own?" Ayesha told Abhay as she yanked the box from Sunny's hand.
"Hey!" Sunny exclaimed.
"Kabir and Sameer are your friends," Ayesha reasoned. "I'm sure they'll save you something."
Sunny raised an eyebrow.
"Jao (Go)," Ayesha shooed Sunny off.
"Why don't you go instead?" Sunny asked.
"Because..." Ayesha started before being interrupted by Abhay.
"It's ok," Abhay said. "I'll get another box."
"No!" Sunny exclaimed. "It's ok. I'll get it."
Sunny then walked off without another word.
"Sunny's such a child!" Ayesha complained. "He's such a spoilt brat!"
Abhay laughed.
"I find Sunny interesting," Abhay remarked.
"If you like him that much," Ayesha joked. "You can have him. Although, I don't think my brother isn't going to let him go so easily."
Abhay laughed some more.
"Speaking about my brother," Ayesha continued. "I don't know if you realised but although Kabir's the oldest of the four of them, Vishal seems to be the most mature. I feel like he had somewhat became a dad
to them."
Abhay nodded.
"Kabir's very protective of people around him though," Abhay commented. "Especially of you."
"Yeah," Ayesha scoffed. "He's like that. Arjun, on the other hand..."
"He's still a bit young," Abhay replied. "Give him a few more years."
"I hope you're right," she said. "You're awesome, you know? What did I deserve a friend like you?"
Abhay just smiled and ruffled his hair in embarrassment.

A/N: So, it's Abhay vs. Sunny (or is it???)!!! 😁😁😁 Let's see which side Ayesha chooses...
And that part about Vishal, I honestly never expected Vishal to be the 'dad' of the group until my friend pointed it out... She was like, Vishal seemed so fatherly as if he adopted the whole group and gives like very 'fatherly advise'... Kinda like Captain America (And then Sunny can be a poorer version of Tony Stark!!! 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂)... I was so shook by that revelation...
See you in the next chapter...
