A/N: Week 2... Done!!!

So, my achievement of NaNoWriMo week 2:

I like where my word count is going but it still isn't where I want it to be yet... Oh well... Time to work harder for Week 3 then 💪

After spending a crazy weekend, Ayesha was so happy to go back to work on Monday.

Finally, she thought. A little bit of normalcy.

However, when Tuesday rolled around, nothing about her morning was normal. Her father had insisted that, instead of Kabir, he would drop Ayesha and Arjun off at the studio. Ravi felt that he needed to talk to Rahul about Arjun's involvement of the band since he was starting college very soon. When Kabir found out about it, surprisingly, he didn't throw a fit. Instead, he merely shrugged it off and said that they would work around Arjun's schedule just as they did when he was in school. However, the highlight of her day was after she and Abhay had a long discussion with the stage managers and the logistics people, she found all the boys, even Sunny, rehearsing. And they were already half way through their set list.

How in the world? Ayesha thought. And what is Sunny doing here? It's before call time.

She stood by the door as the intro of Aadat Se Majboor was being played.

Vishal and Arjun walked to the centre of the stage where two mic stand were at while Sunny knelt down at the back of the studio trying to stay hidden. Ayesha then looked towards the piano and saw Kabir there. She thought it was different seeing Kabir by the piano instead of singing.

"Waah!" Ayesha exclaimed as she clapped for them "Waah! No wonder they call you the lady's man, Sunny!"

Sunny puts the mic back in his place and walked up to Ayesha. A wide smile plastered across his face.

"How did we do with the choreography?" Sunny asked.

"Awesome!" Ayesha replied. "You guys did wonderful. Even you Arjun."

"Thanks," Arjun said before hunting for his water bottle.

"What about the rap?" Sunny jokingly inquired. "I wrote it myself."

"Shut up yaar," Ayesha replied. "You just want to hear people singing praises about you."

Sunny chuckled.

"You know me so well na?" Sunny asked sarcastically.

Ayesha just shrugged.

"So, how long have you been here?" Ayesha asked. "And what happened to your '5 minutes mein pahunch jaoonga (I'll reach in 5 minutes)'?"

"It's Kabir fault," he explained. "He woke me up and told me that rehearsals already started and I was late. I only realised the time when I got to the studio. I was an hour early."

Ayesha laughed.

"Poor you," she said between laughs.

They then walked over to join the rest of the group.

"So," Abhay announced. "We just had a meeting with the stage managers and the logistics team. Everything seems to be alright except one venue. We can't have fireworks there because the ceiling is too low. So, we suggested that we'll have confettis for that concert instead."

"Won't that be extra work for the cleaning team?" Vishal asked.

"That was exactly what the stage manager said," Abhay replied.

"How about we play with the lights instead?" Sunny suggested. "Just do away the fireworks?"

"That is a good idea," Ayesha replied. "We will have to bring it up to Rahul sir. Actually, it will be great if you guys sat in the meeting too. Communications would be so much easier."

"Honestly, I don't get the fireworks," Arjun said.

"It's just there to excite people," Vishal explained. "Start with a bang! Or go out with a bang! Whatever it is."

Arjun nodded.

"I agree with Ayesha," Kabir affirmed. "We should be sitting in the meetings. That way we'll know what's going on. I know it's our first tour guys but it's also Abhay and Ayesha's first. They're doing a great job and I think we should too."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Suddenly, the door opened and a single presence entered the room.

"Hi Fakhir!" Kabir shouted.

Fakhir Ali a.k.a, Sonia's boyfriend, was the dance team's latest recruit. Fakhir may initially appear as a quiet and shy guy but he's actually a powerhouse. He was there early so that he could work with Abhay to catch up with the rest.

"Hi," Fakhir replied. After setting down his things, he joined them. "So, what are you guys... And woman talking about?"

"We were just going over some notes from the logistics meeting," Ayesha revealed.

"Oh," Fakhir nodded.

"Come on Fakhir," Abhay announced as he got up. "Let's not waste anymore time, you have a lot to catch up on."

"I'll see you guys later," Fakhir said as he stood up. "Bye."

"Bye," everyone else replied as Abhay and Fakhir left the room.

"It seriously confuses me how Sameer doesn't know he's housing his sister's boyfriend," Sunny remarked.

"Don't you dare tell Sameer about it," Ayesha warned. "We finally have 10 dancers, including Abhay and I."

"I'm just saying," Sunny defended himself. "What about you? Any boyfriends?"

"Do you think I'm stupid enough to admit it in front of my two brothers?" Ayesha asked in response.

"True," Sunny replied.

"Ayesha," Kabir asked, his tone slightly raised. "Saaf saaf batao (Tell me truthfully), do you have a boyfriend?"

"Arre no yaar," Ayesha answered. "I was just stating a point."

"Are you sure?" Kabir persisted.

"Hello," Ayesha said, slightly annoyed. "Am I speaking a foreign language? I said no. NO, I don't have a boyfriend."

"And no one wants to be your boyfriend," Arjun joked. "Right, Sunny?"

Ayesha reached over and whacked Arjun on his knees.

"Ow," Arjun cried. "I was just joking."

"Not funny, dude," Sunny said.

"Ya DUDE," Ayesha concurred. "Not funny."

"Fine," Arjun sulked.

A wave of uneasy silence passed as nobody knew what to say next.

"I'm going to go check on Abhay," Ayesha announced, breaking the silence. "You know, to see how they're doing."

"I'll come too," Kabir said.

"Sit down Kabir," Ayesha instructed. "You guys have another half of a show to rehearse. You do your thing and I'll do mine. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine."

"Ok," Kabir reluctantly agreed.

Kabir watched silently as Ayesha left the studio.

"She's just going to the next room," Sunny remarked. "Border par nahi jaa rahe hai (She's not going to the border). Chill man."

"Shut up Sunny," Kabir said as he flung a tower at him.

"You know," Vishal advised Kabir. "You shouldn't be so protective of Ayesha. I know you care for her but she's no longer a child. If your parents trust her enough to send her to a boarding school, I think you should also trust her as well. You know, considering how well she turned out to be."

"Fine," Kabir said. "I'll try."

"Try nahi, mere dost (Not try, my friend)," Sunny remarked. "Do. You should also trust your sister's judgement. Not every guy has bad intentions towards her. Imagine what happened if Tara had a brother like that."

"Do you see me running over there?" Kabir asked, pointing out the obvious.

"No," Sunny answered.

"Toh (So)?" Kabir retorted. "Break's over. Let's start with the second half."

Ayesha practically ran over to the next room. The atmosphere was killing her and she couldn't stay there for another minute.

Stupid Arjun, she thought to herself. And stupid Sunny!

It took her so long and so much effort before she and Sunny could be comfortable with each other. It just took one statement from Arjun to undo everything. And why did Sunny bring up the topic of her boyfriend in front of Kabir? Was he trying to get her killed?

"Is everything alright?" Abhay asked, concerned.

"Everything's fine," she replied. She meant it as a statement to convince herself. "I just came over to check on you guys."

"We're fine," Fakhir stated.

"Have you guys started on anything yet?" Ayesha asked, trying to take her mind off things.

"It's only been a minute," Abhay pointed out. "Are you sure you're ok?"

Abhay thought she looked a bit shaken up.

"Yup," she lied. "Let's warm up."

Ayesha pushed the thoughts of the conversation just now to the furthest corner of her mind. She couldn't allow herself to be distracted. She had a job to do.

A/N: Oh Arjun, what have you done? Poor Ayesha, it's like dejavu to when Sunny rejected her... But he didn't actually reject her this time right? 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Time for speculations!!! 😂😂😂
