You and Merlin are currently standing outside the Ark, looking at a massive cluster of floating rocks.

You look around and saw that the land is desolate, the oceans are no more, and the sky is devoid of anything.

Merlin: "Are you okay?"

"Not really. Everything is gone."

Merlin: "Caliburn?"

You pulled your sword out of its hilt on your back, revealing it now has a complete blade. Two lines of light on its guard open and reveal ocean-blue "eyes".

"I agree with the Knave," Caliburn spoke in a gentlemanly voice. "This world is desolate. The Ark is barely holding back the horrors that filled it."

"Could you not call me a knave? I'm not that crude and prone to profanity."

Caliburn: "Don't be offended. Out of all the ones that wielded me, you are leagues more preferable."

"I guess that's something."

You looked at the cluster of floating rocks.

Merlin: "Caliburn was the sword that came into possession during our battle with Delta. After a few weeks of training, it gained a mind of its own. He calls himself that cause he felt a connection with the lost legendary sword Excalibur. Caliburn even says that it's possible he was created from a fragment of its power before it was destroyed."

"So, the Rayonne Citadel is in that massive cluster of land?"

Merlin: "Yes. From what I heard, they have an archive that stores all the knowledge and magic that they've collected over the years."

"How long have you been traveling what remains of Earth before you came to the Ark?"

Merlin: "Long enough to hear many Rayonne cultists discuss what they possess and what they are planning."

Caliburn: "Then let us commence our infiltration of this cursed citadel."

"We're with ya, Merlin."

Merlin: "Very well."

She used her magic to lift you up with her into the citadel, where you eventually reached a massive arcology along with many magic objects and books.

"Are these--"

Caliburn: "Everything that has been gathered by Chaos' forces over the centuries."

Merlin: "If there's anything that will help us stop Chaos, it'll be in this place."

You and Merlin went through several books and items, and you found a seed and took it because you had a feeling it might be important.

Suddenly, Caliburn began to glow and you pulled him out.

"What is it?"

Caliburn: "I feel an immense amount of magic being contained in this place."

"Where?"

Caliburn: "Point me in the directions around you."

You pointed Caliburn and turned him until he glowed brightly in the direction of a large hallway.

"Merlin?"

She teleported to you.

Merlin: "What is it?"

She saw Caliburn glowing as he pointed to the hallway.

Merlin: "That's interesting."

Caliburn: "I feel something calling to me, and it's coming from down there."

Merlin lifted you and herself up with her magic.

Merlin: "Then let's check it out."

She flew you both in the direction that Caliburn is pointing at, and you saw a light blue orb getting closer, leaving her shocked.

Merlin: "It can't be."

She landed you and Caliburn on the ground and you walked over to a massive orb of water contained in a strange device.

"What is that?"

Merlin: "It's Lake Salisbury."

Caliburn: "The magic lake Excalibur was born from?"

Merlin: "The very one."

She opened her eyes in shock and you and Caliburn look down in horror at what you see: An enormous, grotesque entity with several eyes, faces, and arms.

"Is that--"

Merlin: "XV."

Caliburn: "The amount of energy being generated, it's massive. And it seems to be flowing into the lake."

"You three took your sweet time," a voice said from afar.

You readied Caliburn and looked around.

"Who said that? Show yourself."

Caliburn: "Look at the lake."

You looked at the magic lake and saw a silhouette of a woman inside it.

"You're Nimue, the Lady of the Lake. The one that gave Arthur Excalibur."

Nimue: "Oh. So you humans decided to give me a name. If you find it easier to call me that, then feel to do so."

Caliburn: "Forgive the knave, he's still new to all this."

"Please, don't call me that."

Nimue: "Caliburn, the non-humans separated themselves before Chaos attacked the world. This is the first time in forever that Magic was at the side of the humans. What did you possibly expect?"

Caliburn: "Good point. I guess I was hoping for a head start in building my legend."

"Well, I'm sure you'll get it soon."

Caliburn: "Thanks."

Nimue: "Merlin. So, you finally decided to clean up all this after so long."

You and Caliburn look at her while she looked down and you approached her.

Caliburn: "Merlin, what is the Lady of the Lake speaking of?"

A tear streamed down her left eye.

"WHAT DID YOU DO!?!?" you shouted.

Suddenly, Merlin pulled you away as the area you stood on exploded. A masked woman with full body armor appears floating with an orb in her hand.

Nimue: "Dark Eve. I'm surprised you finally came out of your room."

Dark Eve: "You exist only to contain XV's power. Remain silent."

She then pointed at Merlin.

Dark Eve: "As for you, my inferior, you must be erased, or else my research will be ruined."

Merlin floated all around and launched several magic projectiles at Dark Eve. They both flew around and fought each other, while you readied Caliburn and prepared to fight.

"You think my power of Hope will still work in this?" you asked Caliburn.

Caliburn: "Your Hope can tap into even the latent beliefs others have in you, so it should work."

You activated your power and charged at Dark Eve. You managed to strike her and cut off a part of her mask, but she turned around revealing herself looking identical to Merlin, and pushed you back.

Dark Eve: "You are fighting the inevitable and working with the one that revived Chaos into this world. You humans really are desperate."

Merlin used "Double Impact" and blasted Dark Eve away, then checked on you by reaching her hand out to you.

Merlin: "Are you alright?"

You smacked her hand away and looked at her in anger.

"YOU FREED FUCKING CHAOS!!!"

Merlin looked down in shame.

"You brought this world to ruin!"

Caliburn: "That is absolute insanity. What were you thinking, woman?!"

Merlin: "There is nothing that you can say that I haven't already told myself."

Dark Eve appeared and launched several lightning bolts.

Dark Eve: "This world must be destroyed so a new one can take its place!"

You jumped up and swung Caliburn through the magic lake and he absorbed a large amount of power. After retrieving him, you swung Caliburn again and created an energy slash that Dark Eve tried to hold back, but the explosion pushed her toward XV and Merlin used a powerful spell to freeze them both.

After you power deactivated, you passes out. Once you came to, you saw Merlin resting her head on her knees.

Merlin: "You're awake. Thank god."

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't punch you in the face."

Merlin: "Even I know I deserve more than that."

Caliburn: "Do you have a solution to this colossal mess you created?"

Merlin: "We go back to before it was released."

"What?"

Caliburn: "Are you really suggesting--"

Merlin: "Time travel."

"Will that really fix everything?"

Merlin: "Unfortunately, what has already happened to this world cannot be changed for us, but we can reverse the effects it has caused on the planet."

"And who the hell is that?" you said as you pointed to Dark Eve.

Merlin: "I ended up coming in contact with Chaos when I was trying to stop it. It caused my darker self to become sentient and separated from me. She almost killed me, but I somehow survived and woke up years later."

Caliburn: "Why are she and XV frozen like that? There's no ice or anything."

Merlin: "I used a forbidden spell form long ago and suspended them in time, but due to Chaos, it's unstable. However, I do estimate we have a few decades before it wears off. Enough time to stop the destruction of this world."

"And how will time travel help us?"

Merlin: "You possess another power. I noticed it when you destroyed that creature of Chaos when we first met. Nothingness, the power to erase anything."

You looked at your hands and swords formed in them.

Merlin: "Just as Chaos created everything from nothing, your power can erase everything and anything. Even Chaos."

Caliburn: "And that will free this world?"

Merlin: "Dark Eve has concluded that Chaos is a singularity. We go back and threaten its existence in the past, it'll follow and try to preserve itself. It will become unstable, and we end it. It won't bring back those that died, but it will reverse its effects and return life to this world."

You were silent for about a minute.

"When do we begin?"

Nimue: "Bringing me back to the Ark. You will need a enough energy that is produced by the sun. Lucky for you, I've been endlessly storing explosive amounts since I was used for curbing XV's magic."

"Well, how do we get you back? It's not safe for anyone besides us to leave the Ark."

Nimue: "Caliburn simply needs to absorb the lake that contains me. Shouldn't be too difficult for him."

You looked at Caliburn and grabbed him as Merlin used her magic to lift you and place you near the lake.

You aimed Caliburn at the lake and pushed him toward it. The lake gets absorbed into Caliburn, much to everyone's surprise.

Caliburn: "Time for us to return, Merlin. We won't say anything, but don't expect us to forget what you've done to everyone."

Merlin: "I know, and I will make things better for everyone. I promise."

After she teleported you back to the Ark, you explained the plan to UNION.

UNION: "Merlin plans to go into the past to solve this?"

"Yes. She says that chaos is a singularity, and I think she means that it is one unique entity that doesn't exist separately through timelines. If we go into the past and threaten its existence before it fully awakens, Chaos from our timeline will try to preserve itself. But its existence will be highly unstable, so Merlin and I can destroy it for good."

UNION: "And you believe this plan will work?"

"Merlin said that it won't bring back those that died, but it will reverse some of the damage Chaos has done and bring back life to this world. It's the best shot we have."

UNION remained silent for at least a minute.

UNION: "Very well. We will allow her to carry out her plan. If this will stop Chaos for good, then you may take it. Just know that if Merlin has any plans for her gains--"

"I'll make sure she won't."

UNION: "Very well. Dismissed."

The screens disappear and you walked out of the room, noticing Merlin leaning on the wall next to you.

Merlin: "I don't plan on betraying anyone. Neither the Ark or you."

After you and Caliburn released the magic lake into a container that Nimue found better than her last one, you spent weeks training and fighting any remaining Rayonne Cultists and Creatures of Chaos that remained in the Ark. During this time, Merlin created a device that can help her complete the spell to travel through time.

You and Merlin went back to the magic lake where Max awaited your arrival.

"Hi, Dad."

Max: "You stay safe. Britannia in the past is a long way from home."

"I will, so don't worry."

Max: "How are you going to do this? Won't they notice two of you?"

A set of magic armor formed around Merlin which is lighter and more benevolent compared to Dark Eve's.

Merlin: "I'll keep my magic and identity hidden."

Nimue: "Before you go into the past, I have a gift for Y/N."

A mask emerged from the lake and you touched it; it attached itself to your face, and magic armor forms around you; you moved your arms as you felt its energy flowing through yourself.

Nimue: "Future technology should stay in the future. Good luck on your journey, you two."

Max looked to Merlin and gave her a stern look.

"Keep my son safe," he whispered.

Merlin: "I will. I will."

Merlin uses the lake's stored energy to activate the device and sent herself along with you through it.

Max: "Stay safe, Y/N."

You closed your eyes for a second before opening them and discovering that Merlin's plan has worked. You looked around yourself in awe of your surroundings as the world in your time was destroyed.

Caliburn: "Did it work? I can't see."

You pulled Caliburn out, and he looked in amazement as Merlin looks around, filled with nostalgia.

You looked down and saw a flower blooming, so you crouched and picked it up to look at it closely.

"This is... how it all looked back then."

Caliburn: "It's... it's so beautiful."

Merlin: "It is, and we're going to bring it back."

"So where do we start... partner?"

Merlin: "First, we better gather information. It's best to know what's currently happening. I need to know where the Sins are and what they're doing so I can figure out how much time we have. We'll set things right."

"Then let's get to it."

Caliburn: "Agreed."

You sheathed Caliburn and walked with Merlin as you began your mission to free the world from Chaos.
