Maya looked just as stunned as her friend.

"Y- You're what?" Riley asked, not believing that she heard the couple right. The brunette was at a loss of words so the blue eyed teen spoke up.

"How can you just do that? You practically gave her away! You let her grow up without knowing the truth and now that shes here, you act like its nothing. Like she won't care that you lied to her! Aren't you guilty?" The blonde couldn't help herself. She felt as if it hurts her just as much as it must've hurt Riley. As if there were a connection. The brunette stood silently, overwhelmed and tearing up. Maya looked over to her companion, only to see Riley pushing past Isabell and Simon. Her only instinct was to run after the brunette, that she was slowly and ever so slightly falling in love with. As much as she denied, the feeling was there.

Riley made her way to the room she shared with Maya. She quickly shut the door and locked it. Sliding down the door, to the floor, the brunette pulled her knees to her chest. The tears that she kept in started flowing down her cheeks, turning into soft sobbs. It was too much for her to handle. The last thing she needed was being told who her real parents were after being told she was a shadowhunter and being betrayed by the people she spent 14 years of her life with.

"Riley, open the door" The blonde whined, hearing the other girl's cries. The brunette continued to look forwards, ignoring her friend.

"Riley. Now." The blonde said firmly after getting no answer.

"No Maya...."

"You trust me don't you?"

"I trust you..."

With a click of a door lock, Maya rushed in, hugging the brunette.

"Honey, what's wrong?" Maya asked softly. Riley silently put her head in the crook of Maya's neck.

"It's too much. I don't know how to handle this. I can't handle this." Riley let more tears fall, Maya feeling the dampness on her neck and shoulders.

"Of course you can. You're Riley Lightwood. You the sweetest, goofiest, kind hearted girl I know. Don't let this put you down, because in the end, everything will be alright. And I won't let you go through this alone Riley. I promise." Maya said sincerely. The brunette picked her head up to look at the blonde. She grabbed the blonde's hand, and went to sit on her bed, Maya right by her side.

"Can you just- hold me?" Riley asked as a single tear rolled down her face. Maya looked at the girl, brown eyes locking with blue before she hugged her. She then started humming into the girl's ear, which turned into soft singing.

HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!!! Im sorry that this book is terrible. Trust me, things haven't even been close to being started. More drama is to come, and you'll all hate me for it.
