Maya trugged to her first class, still annoyed from earlier this morning. Riley on the other hand, was being bothered by Lucas, but the only thing on her mind was Maya. The green eyed boy never left Riley's side. Just like a lovesick puppy, but in a stalkerish way.

"Look Lucas, just stop..." Riley said, her voice barely audible.

"Hmmm I think not." He smirked and grabbed Riley's hand. At that moment, the brunette jerked away.

"Keep your hands off me Friar!" The girl said in anger. Maya's attention was drawn to the voice of a familiar brunette. The blonde walked out into the hallway to see a group of people around Riley. Of course, this angered the girl greatly. Just like that, Lucas attempted to kiss Riley on the lips. The clumsy girl ducked. Maya helped me once... Maybe she'll do it again.

"Aww come on Riles" Lucas cooed. Maya watched the two, waiting for the brunette to defend herself.

"Only Maya can call me that you little fuckboy!" The texan had pulled the last straw, and Riley had lost it. Out of all the people in the school, Lucas had almost all of the girls wanting to date him. It angered him because she didn't like him like the majority of the girls did. She then threw a punch at the boy's face, not paying attention to the people around them. The brunette took this as an opportunity to get away. She pushed Lucas into the near wall and she darted away. The girls around them rushed to Lucas' aid accept for Maya who was leaning against the wall. Once Riley's chocolate brown eyes landed on Maya, she ran towards the shorter girl. The brunette hugged Maya, taking her by surprise. It made the blonde's heart skip a beat.

"How long were you there?" Riley asked, not letting go of Maya.

"The whole time Riles" the girl chuckled.

"You didn't help me?"

"I didn't need to, you're a shadowhunter after all." Riley held Maya at arms length and kissed her on the cheek, smiling. This resulted in a blushing blonde which made Riley giggle.

"Thanks for believing in me, Maya."

"I always will, Riles."
