Chapter 25
Incantation and Magic
Author's POV:
The large room was silent as it the books glowed in the distance. Completely shocked that another goddess was dead, yet again. Everyone was shuffling in the library, some panicking in silence and some breathing shakily.
"What can we do now?" One student asked.
A bruised Bunny grumbled and retorted, "Nothing! Absolutely nothing! I didn't know that that Goddess was useless!" Everyone whispered in annoyance and doubt about Y/n.
PJ, on the other hand, was trying to scan the cover of the book. It was glowing earlier but now it's getting dim. Too dim. He flipped it open glancing at the unfamiliar words as it pass by each page. Completely drowning out the noises the student are making.
Drip.
His tears fell to the page. He got out of his trance as he sees the word,
Incantation Spells:
He wiped his tears and furrowed his eyebrows. Trying to read the cursive texts as the words are getting more and more clearer as he read.
Whilst monsters have the original root of magic whilst humans have the will and mana to use it. Incantation Spells are as old as the Mt. Ebott. Only the Goddesses and God can use it. Unless they are bonded with a spouse or lover-
PJ gasped as he ran to his father. Error was silencing the students as Ink was helping Raven to block the door. PJ grabbed Error's shoulder who was now talking to Dream and Nightmare.
"Son?" He stared at him with confusion. "What is it?"
"Dad!" He flails the book in his face as he showed him the text, Incantation Spells, Error's face has a look of disgust.
"No" he said sternly. PJ stared at him as he closed the book. "It's our only choice! This war is going on too far, Father! And I got no more to lose than to gain from it!" PJ retorted with determination in his eyes. Something his father have never seen from him.
Using the same book.. The same spell that trapped them made himself doubt about using it, even LOOKING at it disgusts him to an extent. Humans aren't powerful but they're stubborn. Too stubborn to the point it made them strong with no extent other than their greed and emotions. One last glance at the students around him made his stomach churned. The faces he is seeing is contradicting what Yannie promised.
'This doesn't look like the peace she promised us.'
Error sighed and stared at his son in an awful terror demeanor. PJ was internally screaming as he stood his ground. He needs to do this. He has to. Error placed an arm in his son's shoulder as this took the attention of the students in the room. They know what's going to happen.
"I don't trust the same Incantation," his voice was laced with disgust as that one word rang in everyone's ears and they flinched."That banished us from our home." PJ had his head low as everyone sighed. "But I do trust you, PJ.'' Error finished with a soft eyes and stressed out smiled. PJ nodded as Ink grinned. Ink knew Error hated the magic the humans used on them but this is the only way they can defeat them. Whether if they loathed this, they have to use the same fire to withstand the demoness beyond the library's door.
BANG! BANG!
Everyone flinched from the loud knock in the door. Raven swirled her hand as another barrier protected them from the door. Everyone trembled as PJ takes books from shelf to shelf as Ink calmed them down. Nightmare and Error was talking and it was ended with Nightmare nodding. Nightmare walked in front of the students and his back facing the door as Raven was holding up the barrier beside him.
NM's tuxedo ripped from behind as his black goopey tentacles emerged from behind, his glasses dropped as his forehead was dripping with a black substance as well. The students fell in the silence of shock as his irises brightened.
"Everyone,'' his voice dripped with malice as his tentacles swayed in the most hypnotic way. The students shrank in his presence as Error smirked and Dream anxiously gripped his sleeves. "This is not a time to panic. There's a way and one only. All of you," his eyes scanned around the room. "The books around us are Magic-- Human Magic--," Palette stared at the shelves in shock.
'This was what .. Yannie left us?' He thought. So much magic, so much power and so much.. burden. Palette stared at the ground. She took them in knowing the consequence. There was a thought of why the school, and why this one specifically, was being attacked. Because of this library? There's something he can't quite put in what's happening.. Something's always off but this is something terrible.
"Each of the books around you has magic beyond History.. Beyond Time and Beyond Power. Choose one and choose one wisely.." NM heaved a heavy sigh. "because Valerie never chased this library, she's chasing US."
He was right.
The books are powerless..
Without a host.. A master.
It so happens that the students are those who can maneuver the books.
Valerie chuckled as her army destroys the gate that has been protecting them. 'They know now..'
It was never about the school..
The one living in it has higher power she can consume and boy was she glad. She sneered as one of her henchmen approached her. Her eyes widened but rage overcame her as she turned around and was blinded with f/c rays.
There she stood, body bloodied and panting, was Y/n herself. She chuckled. "I forgot you got that wenches* stubbornness.." Y/n scoffed as f/c flames surrounded her healing her wounds. Valerie sneered again, 'she used healing magic like it was nothing-- No, she was wounded out of recklessness. I can take her.' she assures herself.
Y/n's left eye glowed a brilliant dull blue. Valerie was in shock..
Yannie's power resides in her.
