Chapter 18
Preparations
Y/n POV:
"Aaah!"
"Here lock this so the tent wouldn't get blown away by the wind."
"But how did you blew me away?:'>"
"My god dude. Stop flirting."
Scratching my head as I chuckle. My club officers are setting up the tent while 6 of the club members are preparing the stuffs we need like paints and art materials, chairs and tables.
I look around to see that the school front yard was filled with tents that is organized by clubs. There's the Literature, Theater, Cheerleading and so on so forth.
"Pres!" I turned to my club officers as they finished setting up the tent. "This is the 1st section right?" I nodded and pointed to a divider that connects to another tent.
"Yes and beside that is the 2nd section where we'll handle the face painting," I informed as they nodded.
"Hey, did you hear that the sports club are doing a horror house?" I heard a passerby student said.
I laughed.
They stared at me and blushed. I apologized to them and explained that I didn't laugh because of them.
'Do they even know how to scare..'
"AAAGHHHH!!!" I screamed.
The other's stared at me in confusion. I shakily pointed at the top of our tent and they looked up to see a flying ghost in mid day.
IT WAS FLYING.
Her hair was hung low, her clothes drenched in blood and her nails.. I shivered.
Then it slowly floated down to me as I backed away when I hit a hard wall. I whimpered and closed my eyes.
"Oh shoot," I peeked a little to see the ghost standing in front of me.
Then someone held my shoulder as I smack them with my book.
"Ow!!"
"P-P-PJ?!"
"Heeeyyyyyy bae :'3" he said as I blushed. "Sorry did I scare you? Was testing the flying ghost--"
"IT WAS YOUR GHOST?!" My head fwipped to the ghost as it stays still. I gulped and clings to PJ.
"It looks too real.."
"We had some pretty good make up designers," he explained. He was holding a controller and moved the joystick and the ghost moved away.
"Tem tem tem!" We turn to the voice and saw it was the VicePrincipal and Principal AnnoyingDog along with Yannie.
We greeted each of them as they nodded back.
"How's the preparation" Yannie asked.
"It was going smoothly, ey~" the same dude who was flirting said.
Yannie crossed her arms and smirked.
"I suppose you'd like a good hand to your mouth?" She said.
"Arf arf arf! Grrrrrrr!" ("Ms Starlight, stop scaring our students!") Principal AD said. Yannie coughed and bowed her head slightly.
"Pardon, Principal."
"So! Prink, we were getting good with our preparations!" PJ said as he float the ghost closer.
AD looked at the ghost and 'arfed'. Yannie put her hand on her mouth as she held her laugh. PJ and I stared at her and Principal AD's beam in confusion.
"What he said-" we looked at the others who muffled their laughs. We stared at them awkwardly and shrugged with a smile.
PJ pouted and hugged my back. Yannie stopped laughing and glared at us, which made the others stop laughing.
"PJ you shi!!"
"Yannie-sempai!" A familiar voice called.
Yannie froze as someone put their hand on her shoulder. PJ got dumbstrucked.
"Cil?"
"PJ?"
"Why do you two act like you just saw each other?!" Yannie stammered. Cil scoots closer as she got even more red.
"Aww, you forgot sempai? I left school for a week for the Soccer Championship!" Cil said as PJ smirked at me and whispered.
"Your sis has.. Her eyes set on Ci--" He got cut off by a soccer ball being thrown at his face as he stumbled backwards.
"A-pfft... HAHAHAHAHA!!" I laughed as I helped him up.
"YOU LIL SUCKER, STOP MAKING DUMB STORIES YOU LITTLLEEEEEEEEE--" Yannie was being held back by Cil as she was bickering.
PJ stood up, dusted his pants, kissed me in the cheeks and shouted, IT'S NOT FAKE IF ITS TRUE YOU DENSE PRESSSSSIIIIIIDEEEEE--" now I'm holding him back. What a day full of preparations.
They continued bickering for a good 5 minutes when Cil did the most unexpected thing. He stuffed his head on Yannie's neck. She didn't blush but the color on the streak of her hair turned red.
Yannie stopped as we got shook. PJ stopped and waved off the other students who were watching.
"Not much to see here! Continue on your work gossipers!"
They continued with their work as Principal AD looked around with a big smile at his.. Snot? Mouth? IDK. Vice President Temtem was looking rather jumpy.
Yannie got dragged by Cil as they left the school yard. I asked, "What's wrong with the others? They looked overjoyed seeing both of them."
PJ smiled at me and hugged me. "Let's just get to work, ay?" I hummed and nodded.
-----
"Phew!" I exclaimed as I placed the last box at our tent. I opened it and raised my eyebrow. It was a blue round glass marble with a pentagram on it? No wonder it was heavy.
I turned to my club member and approached them as they hung the last parole.
"Hey, do you know what's the use for that?" I pointed to the opened box with the round glass. She coughed.
"Well.. Whenever our school festival is coming. A uhm, old student from here would attack it. Not like bomb or anything. But with monster's magic." She explained.
"Magic is allowed?"
"Well, yeah. There are mostly monsters here and some humans are half monsters."
I looked at the parole, it was twinkling. "So what happened to the attack before I got here?"
She pursed her lips, "It was not as pleasant as Japan bombed U.S.A.. Everything was pitch black and many students were taken. But.." she trailed off.
"But?"
"Yannie kinda stopped them."
I widened my eyes. I know sis is a powerful bish but how did she not handle it by herself?
"We know Yannie came from a family of long lines of powerful mages but that someone who attacked us were as tier tied as her." She then turned to me and inspected my bright e/c.
"You're her sister right? Maybe with both of your powers you can finally stop that person. The Globe and the Parole are shields. Once Yannie chants some spells, these will glow and that gem in the flagpole will suck all these two artifacts energy to make a shield.
"But we heard there's a price for that." She said and placed the Globe at the center of the Parole. I listened to her intently. "Your sister can't join the festival for the whole week. She missed like last year's festival, too."
"Why? There's already a shield." I asked concern.
"Because," another voice joined in. It was Palette. "Yannie's mana is draining constantly for the shield to function.."
"But.. She promised me.. She'll do all the things she missed with me.." My voice quivered.
"She uhm.. Yannie should tell you this not us." My club officer said.
Palette nodded. "She needs you, Y/n. We're getting concerned since everytime she does that.
"She doesn't wake up."
1206 words.
Wow, yes. The attack. Magic.
I have the plot coming up so be sure to stick around!
Sincerely,
Author.
