The one thing that I like about this job is that I get paid. Through the past week I've dreaded every minute at the game stop. And Darren doesnt help at all and by help I mean around the store. He makes me do everything! Restock, chasier, helping customers. The only thing he does is "test" the games. Ugh! He's just so annoying but on the other hand he has helped a little bit when he thinks I need it. Anyways today would be the day I stand up too him and tell him he needs to work. To do that I get up earlier than I normally do and I head to work making sure I'm not late which I wasn't. When I arrived Darren was unlocking the door. I hop out of my car and skip up to the door my ponytail bouncing with me. When I stop I look at Darren and see a hint of a smile. We stay silent as we go to the break room on the back of the store and set our things down.

"So could you start with restocking the nintendo stuff and ill work on the Xbox stuff." Darren says getting to the boxes of games.

"So you're not gonna make me do it all?" I ask a little shocked. He stops what he's doing and nods. He hands me a box of nintendo items. I walk out to the store and to the nintendo section. A few minutes go by and I start to hear someone sing.

"You take me back like nintendo like when we were ten yo. Hands out the window were ever we go." I look back and see Darren jamming out with with his ear buds plugged in. I can't help but stare at him as he dances and I can't stop the smile forming on my face. He turns and looks at me then stops and unplug his ear buds.

"You're a good singer." I say shyly.

"Thanks." And he goes back to working on restocking the Xbox section. I roll my eyes. Just when I think things are going good he blocks me out. I finish my area quickly and the store opens in like thirty minutes so I decide to see if Darren needs any help. I walk over too where he is.

"Hey! Do you need any help?" I ask and he looks up at me.

"No I only have a few more things to stock. How about you get the front counter ready." He says then goes back to what he was doing. I sigh and walk over to the counter and make sure it's neat.

----- that afternoon-----

I give the 20th sigh today after help a customer that just could not decide between overwatch And assassin's creed. I spent thirty minutes on him na he just decided to get halo 5! Like come on people!. I feel my head ache a little after I tighten my ponytail so I decide to just take it down. I let the band slid down my hand and too my wrist as I play with my hair trying to get it the way I want until I finally get what I want. I turn to the counter after I get the feeling I'm being watched. I see Darren staring at me but he quickly looks away when he notices I noticed him and he has a slight hint of pink in his cheeks.

I shake my head and walk over to the counter and rest my elbows on the counter an then I pull out my phone and look at the time to see it's 1:30. I feel my stomach growl and I groan.

"I'm going to canes do you want anything?" Darren asks all the sudden and I look up at him. He has his Keys in hand and he is fixing his hat of his head.

"Yeah just get me a four piece and water."I say looking down at my phone as I get a text. I turn off my phone after looking at the text from my boyfriend Ashton. He wants to talk. Darren nods.

"I'll be back in a few minutes." He tells me walking to the door then leaves. I roll my eyes and call Ashton. When he answers my heart sinks with the next thing I hear.

Darren' s P.O.V.

I have to say I didn't really like summer when she started to work a week ago but she is starting to grow on me. I had just gotten the food from canes to go. Once I arrive back at game stop I feel something is wrong. I walk in a I hear a few sobs. Ok....

"Summer?" I call out and I hear a faint right here from behind the front counter. I set the food down on the counter and walk around the counter and look down to see Summer curled up in a ball her hair covering her like a curtain. "What in the world happened while I was gone?" I ask staring to feel sorry for her.

"My boyfriend broke up with me and I didn't even give a reason why." She sobs. I sit on the floor next to her and I pat her back. I feel My self fill with anger. I want to beat her ex so bad right now for making her cry.

"Everything will be ok. It's just a brake up." I say running her back and she starts to relax.

"I know its just we have been dating for 3 years." She says her sobs losing down and turning into sniffles. I find Myself wrapping my arm around her and she leans into me. "I'm pathetic. I shouldn't cry over a stupid boy." She says standing up.

"Your not pathetic. But you are right he is stupid for breaking up with you." I whisper the last part.
