"What's your favorite feature of me?" Asked Felix, resting his cheek on the wooden desk and eyeing you. The both of you had taken off to a public library, trusting his promise to help, you had agreed to bring him along. And now, you regret it. He had been bugging you with silly questions, excusing himself saying he was bored. As much as you wanted to punch him in the face and take off, he was your best friend and you couldn't do it to that sunshine boi.
"Umm... I like your freckles" Answering the hundredth question, you resumed your work. However, Felix wasn't satisfied with your reply. "Why my freckles? I don't like my freckles!" Rolling your eyes slightly, you turned back to him. "Look Felix, your freckles are cute and I like them, now shush and let me work" You scolded the boy quietly, yet again turning back to your laptop as Felix grinned cheekily.
Later, after submitting your work and gaining that one damned A+, you walked out of the library. You of course didn't fail to notice Felix's unusual silence. "You okay mate?" Despite your voice, he was completely zoned out. Before you could address him the second time, he had unknowingly bumped into a pole, his face hitting the cold metal. "Oh fuck!"
"Lix! Are you okay?!" Rushing to his side, you inspected his face. Felix nodded swiftly, pausing before he busted out laughing. Seeing his completely careless attitude, you chuckled along to his antics. "You're such a dumbass. It's forming a bump on your forehead now" You scolded him for the Nth time today. "Forgive me m'lady" He jokingly bowed, both sharing a laugh soon after. "Let's fix that up," You said, before motioning him to your house's way.
The white snow crunched under your feet, leaving behind footprints. Hiding away your hands inside the trench coat, Felix and you walked side by side. "Home sweet home" You mumbled tiredly, climbing up the stairs to your house. "Damn y/n, clean your house once in a while" Felix comments as he entered the house, poking on the upside-down a puddle of shoes.
Ignoring his complaints, you quickly walked over to the living room's bathroom and brought out a towel and water. "I'll clean them later bitch, now come sit here!" He only chuckled at your order, waddling over to your side and jumping onto the couch.
Coats tossed on the love seat, you were gently dabbing his reddened forehead. "Hey y/n?" He broke the silence, looking up at you and forcing you to stop. "Yeah?"
"Why do you like my freckles?" His question was something you would laugh at. But Felix's face showed seriousness and curiosity, much to your dumbfounded state. Slowly placing down the towel, you sat close to him. Felix was getting ready to ask what you were doing but got cut off when you held his face in your hands. Although your hands were cold from the water, Felix felt warm.
As his face gained the blush of red, you chuckled at your best friend's flustered state. However, Felix kept silent, waiting for you to do something. Removing your right hand, you slightly poked one of his freckles and dragged your finger to the next one and on. "Libra... Scutum... Aquila... "
"Aren't they constellations?" He mumbled quietly, enjoying your fingers brushing on his face. Laughing gently, you nodded. "Yes, and that's why I like your freckles, I can see stars in them"
A moment of of silence fell between the two, warmly staring at each other. "Thank you" Felix again broke the silence, grinning later on. "I'll make you coffee" You suddenly announced, jumping up from the couch and rushing to the kitchen.
Processing you had run off, Felix paced after you. Turning the gas on, you reached over to grab the lighter. "It's okay y/n! I have to go, remember, I'm going to Seoul?" He remarked, the smile on his face fading as he mentioned going away. Retrieving your hand back, you turned back to him and smiled. "Then don't be tardy and go pack your stuff! Your mum will scold me for keeping you late!" You exclaimed soundly, pushing him toward the front door.
"You aren't gonna miss me?" He asked, turning around and facing you. "I'll Miss your freckles" You replied, smiling at the fellow Australian. He playfully laughed, spreading his arms and pulling you for a hug. "Call me when you get there and don't forget your best friend when you become an idol" You joked as he nodded along.
"I'll get going now" He grinned for the last time, holding open your front door. However, before he closed the door, Felix leaned in and gave you a small peck on your cheek. Shutting the door, he ran away with a wide grin.
A few meters away from your house, he turned back to the very building he left. Through the open window, he saw you walking inside, heading for the light switch. Everything right after that was a blur. Orange and red shades of flame rose in the air, black smoke leaving the once cozy building. The loud noise caused Felix's ears to ring. Someone held him back from running in to the flame. "Y/n!"
"Felix!" Felix gasped as his eyes burst open, slightly panting as he looked around himself. BangChan was looking down through the car window, as Felix was seated Inside. Giving the younger a sympathetic smile, BangChan sighed. "We're here"
Opening the car door and stepping out to the winter of Sydney, Felix breathed in the sir. Despite it being his home, it felt empty. "I'll wait here," Said Chan, leaning against the sleek black car. Felix nodded silently, grabbing the bouquet of lilacs from the back seat.
The gate and fence of the place were completely tucked in algae. Though it was supposed to be a creepy location, knowing you were here, Felix couldn't fear anything. The snow created a scribbling noise as he walked over it. In the mere distance, he spotted the old large Oak tree. Its leaves were long withered, hidden under the white cold coat of winter snow. Under the tree, was you.
Despite the cold weather, you were resting under the tree peacefully. Felix's lips tugged to a small smile, seeing you just sit there. Fastening his pace, he stood feet away from you and knelt. "Hey, y/n"
Pushing away from the thick layer of snow, Felix placed the lilacs on the cold surface- no, for Felix; it was warm. "You're resting well I see" He said, sadly smiling at you and running his hand around the stone structure. "I don't hide my freckles anymore you know? STAYs love them. Oh! and we even won artist of the year" He chuckled at the memory of the celebration with his group mates. "I wish you were able to see it"
Pressing his hands on the tombstone, he stood up. Reading over your name, a stray tear ran down his cheek. 'Y/N, 2000-2016 May you rest in peace' Feeling the warm drops of liquid, Felix wiped his palm across his face. The freckles shined with his tears, glowing like stars in the night sky.
