If there's one thing Nandini Murthy disliked so strongly even as a fourteen-year-old, it was clichés. In her world, nobody was entirely bad; she was that embodiment of positivity that saw people as a little insecure, a little possessive, a little passionate, and generally very loveable.

She had her share of sorrows and miseries which she never spoke about — fighting them in silence, so the world will never hear her dull, colourless wings flap the loudest. 

Manik Malhotra, her senior in SPACE Academy, was the entire opposite... possessed by anger, grief, and self-righteousness that nobody could sear through those walls; except his inner circle. She wasn't in it.

Somehow, and very unexpectedly, they entangled each other's world. To her, he was vivid, tantalising though imperfect, and to him, she was catastrophic solace. Knowingly or unknowingly, he slit the wings that nurtured him bit by bit, imprisoning her in that little cage of his – with demons he himself couldn't confront. Hence, he shielded himself by making her the bait.

And all in the name of love, she fell for it, into a fathomless terrain that she couldn't bolt herself out of.

Because even the strongest turn weak when they lose everything they are able to offer, finally only to surrender in his custody.
