Such Festivities!
Note: Nearing that season, I often wonder what the hype is all about. I think we have forgotten why we celebrate this season in the first place. Not that I'm conservatively anything. Just sayin' (2018)
=======
Warm tones celebrate
each year with love and care.
It's cold,
and I want to be comfy cozy by myself,
and not listen to the festivities,
and just stay inside my own mind,
and forget the insanely happy world
that has sprung forth at the start of November.
The color of berries and pine trees,
appear at every corner out of my eyes.
Those colors are like some kind of signal,
like Morse code, yes, like an S.O.S,
that all of those people like me who
want to escape this insanity,
send out to any sane rescue mission that doesn't exist,
because the entire world has been infected with
this insanity of sudden joy.
Overtime this joy has lost its true reason.
Why do we even celebrate this season?
Evergreen trees and candy canes,
candles scented cinnamon or "Christmas tree",
reindeer rumored to have some magical ability,
to pull a sleigh and carry a myth,
and people with dwarfism who live forever
as little old men, and people who are suddenly happy,
kind, or sweet—this insanity!
I tell you, it's utterly insane for such madness
to surround a single day—just one day
—which will be over in a flash.
I just don't understand
what the hype is all about.
"Just count me out from this mad celebration,"
I pout, but gladly give and receive presents.
