They've been training for UA these past 10 months, Izuku was pretty happy for them, he knows they can easily pass, so he doesn't worry for them, rather he's studying up for the entrance exams for Chisei University, it was said that recovery girl actually graduated from that school, it was the top school for all doctors throughout Japan and they recently allowed high school students to come and study there as well.

Being one of the top schools in Japan, Izuku knows he probably won't be able to pass without making a lot of effort, so he started early on studying, he borrows a bunch of books in the library, goes to either Kacchan or Kirishima to watch them train while he studies, he takes notes of the most important part of the books, returns it then reviews his notes over and over again.

"Kacchan you'll strain your wrist if you keep flicking it that way, try to keep it steady Kacchan." Izuku says, glancing up to him from his notebook. Katsuki huffs and doesn't flick his wrist anymore when he's pulling back from his explosions.

"Kacchan's attack's are too heavy and slow, Kacchan should try to minimalize his explosions and do it quicker, maybe the entrance exam is time based."

"This probably won't matter in the entrance exams but Kacchan swings really widely, do you know how many blood vessels are in the arm pits Kacchan? If you keep doing that you should have something that protect your armpits"

"Kacchan Stop twisting your legs like that, you'll get a strain, it looks cool but at the same time that looks like long term damage"

"Kacchan likes pouncing on his enemies and jumping a lot, you should get a knee guard on your costume Kacchan, also try not to jump continuously over and over and over again, your feet will hurt and you might end up twisting your ankles, get some pads on your feet, Kacchan, you're limping"

"Kacchan you're sweating too much, you'll get dehydrated that way, do you want some water? Here drink water- I don't care if you're not thirsty it's because of your adrenaline, go drink water Kacchan"

It's been this way for a couple of weeks now, Katsuki would train infront of Izuku, Izuku will point something out then Kacchan will fix it, Katsuki doesn't get as exhausted as he is when he's training alone with Izuku fussing over him and forcing him to drink water instead of training for hours straight with not a drop of water.

"Kacchan I'll go check up on Kiri today, take care okay?" Izuku says, kissing Kacchan's forehead before leaving, the blonde stares at him as he leaves, an unreadable expression on his face.

Kirishima was.... equally as bad as Kacchan in the beginning.

"Kiri, just stop using your quirk and you'll be able to get out"

"Kiri you'll break your thumb if you keep punching that way"

"Kiri train your legs too, all you're doing is building up mass on your Torso, your legs will end up looking like twigs"

"Stop eating chips when you're on strict diet Kiri!"

"Water! Drink water you're sweating! Do you think people in the movies that train only drink water to look cool? I mean they do but-"

"Kiri is a close ranged fighter, Stop trying to kick your enemies away from you Kiri"

"Stop trying to eat chips!"

"Kiri should take up repetitive blows instead of taking heavy blows at once, let me restart the baseball machine Kiri, try your best to survive with the repetitive blows!"

"3 seconds, you can last a minute and a half with slow heavy blows but you suck at taking in repetitive blows, Kiri, try to train your hardening on that okay? Try to reach atleast half a minute"

"If you try to eat chips again I'll ignore you for a week"

Training with Kirishima was pretty good, except for the fact that he kept trying to eat chips when he gave himself a strict diet, it just kinda surprised him when Shoto asked him to.

"I asked my dad if I could bring you home to watch me train... I probably should've asked you first if you're not doing anything but-"

"No it's fine Shoucchan, I don't mind, I'll watch you" He chirps, "Are you gonna be training with him?"

"...Maybe he'll take it easier now that someone's watching" Izuku frowns.

"He's probably just interested in who I've been talking to these past few years, don't be intimidated by him, I'll protect you from him"

"It's fine, I trust Shoucchan, it'll be fine" he smiles at him.

Shoto holds his hand tightly when they were walking to to his house, Shoto rang the doorbell and a few moments after, Endeavor was answering the door.

"Is this your friend? He looks... tiny" he says, his face scrunched up.

"Please try not to belittle my friends when they're infront of you"

"It doesn't matter, don't expect me to go easy on you just because someone is watching, and I expect you to be quiet of the things you see in here, understood?" Izuku nods.

Izuku gets a full view of what really happens with Shoto doing training.

No wonder he needs to come to Izuku to get patched up every day, no matter how good Shoto is at using at ice, no matter how good he dodges, he's still no match for someone titled the number two hero.

Endeavor calls for a quick break when Shoto collapses, promising to come back after half an hour and expecting Shoto to be able to stand up already after, as soon as he leaves Izuku runs to his friend, helping him sit up.

"A-Are you okay?"

"...I'm sorry for looking so weak infront of you"

"Idiot, don't worry about stuff like that right now!" Izuku frowns.

"I-I'd patch you up, add some ointment to your burns but if he's going to return after 30 minutes..."

"They'd just end up being useless right?" Izuku frowns, hugging his friend.

"You're cold Shoucchan, you used your ice too much, I know you can use your heat to warm yourself up, why won't you?"

"... he'll notice that I'm using it"

"So? I'm surprised you haven't got sick of this yet, you'll get hypothermia at this rate and collapse again."

"I'll be dealing with fire again shortly after"

"Don't you see what happens to cool metal after it's immediately dipped in something hot? Or when something cold is suddenly hit with heat? Sudden temperature changes won't do good for your body, you're deliberately stopping your body from making warmth, you're so cold right now" Izuku mumbles, hugging him tighter, "just use it to warm yourself up"

"This is not my power, it's his"

"I don't care, it's part of you now isn't it? I accept Shoucchan for everything that he is and for everything that he has, including that, even if it's from him, it's part of you, and I don't see him controlling it, it's your Shoucchan"

"I... I thought out of everyone, you'll be someone who'll understand, this fire... it's not mine, it's his"

"I don't remember Endeavor giving me warmth on cold winter days and helping me heat up my hot chocolate when I would whine about how it's lukewarm and not drink it"

"..."

"Shoucchan, even if this quirk came from him, it's a part of you, and I... I love Shoucchan for everything that he has, I wouldn't love something I hate, you know I wouldn't love him, if I say that I love this fire side of you, would you think that I love your father as well? Especially with you knowing how I much I despise him myself?"

"...no, of course not, I wouldn't... you're not that kind of person, you wouldn't love someone who I hate- someone you hate"

"So if I say I love this..." Izuku kisses the scar on his left side, "Would you say that I love your father for this?"

"No, you wouldn't, you would never, I.. I'm sorry" Shoto mumbles, hugging him back tightly, "I'm sorry, I promise I'll use it, I won't let Izuku love something he hates, I'll accept this, I won't say that it's from my father anymore, I promise"

"It's fine it's fine, as long as Shoucchan promises , it's fine-"

They quickly pull away from each other when Endeavor comes back.

"Izuku, go to the side, and please, watch me"

"I came here to watch you Shoucchan, of course I'll keep my eyes on you" Izuku smiles.

"Enough chit chat" Endeavor says, strengthening his flames, getting ready to attack, "I won't hold back"

"Then I wouldn't either" Shoto says, a determined look on his face as he lets his left side get engulfed in flames, Endeavor's eyes widened.

"Even if this quirk is from you, I know that it is mine by myself, do not think that you have any part in awakening this side of me, old man" Shoto growls.

"It doesn't matter, whether you use your fire side or not, what matters is how well you'll be using it, give me your all."

And he did.

Even if Shoucchan wasn't able to win, he managed to land a lot more strikes rather than earlier, Endeavor stops the training, satisfied.

"You. Let's talk" Endeavor says, walking to Izuku.

"Do not drag my friend into this-!"

"I would think that you'd think of him more as a friend, seeing how you two have interacted with each other" Endeavor growls, "Unless you want him hurt, you will let me talk to him" Shoto hisses, angry that he can't do anything about this situation at all.

"I-It's fine Shoucchan! We're just gonna talk right? Then I don't mind"

"He'll come back here with no burns on any part of his body"

"Don't think you can command me just because you've started using your left side, boy, you're still ways off defeating me." Endeavor gruffs. "Follow me"

Endeavor walks off, Izuku follows him, Endeavor leads him to an empty room, locking it as they enter.

"This room is soundproof, don't think you can scream for help here"

"I don't see why I would need to, we're just going to have a talk, aren't we?"

"... what's your relationship with my son?"

"...he's my friend-"

"It's clear by the way you act towards him, you aren't, don't lie" Izuku huffs.

"Me and Shoucchan are just a little close... we really are just friends."

"And not his soulmate?"

"Ah of course not-!" Izuku yelps when the coat and scarf he was wearing was burnt off of him.

Even under his still safe shirt, the soulmark burns.

"H-How did you-"

"I've worked with flame and light throughout my entire life, you think something like you wearing this would hinder me from seeing it? My son has ways to go if he hasn't noticed this yet- from how he calls you, I would assume that he doesn't know it?" Izuku frowns.

"Then tell him"

"What?"

"His performance have been great every since he has been meeting up with this 'friend', and I know that you've been able to bring out the fire in him, I am not oblivious to his feelings and surely you aren't too, if he's in love with you then why not indulge him?"

"...aren't you going to object? I won't be able to give him a child."

"His only goal is to defeat the symbol of peace, All Might and take the position off from him, I don't care what else he does, and if you admitting your mark will give him outstanding performance, I see no reason to object."

"I.. I'll be a burden to him, I'm quirkless"

"I heard from him that you want to be a doctor, I don't care for that as long as you can keep yourself alive long enough to help him reach the top, now as a doctor, I'm sure you've heard of Chisei University right?" Izuku's eyes widen.

"My connection goes far, if you wish so I can give you a recommendation"

"I.. it wouldn't be fair to my other soulmates so-"

"My son has a dual quirk, it wouldn't be strange for him to randomly develop another mark if that's what you're scared about, I know someone who can imprint a fake mark on both you and him, even if it's sketchy, he wouldn't pass up an opportunity as long as you're involved"

"I..."

"Well?"

"...Please give me some time to think"

"Do not take too long, you should feel blessed to share a soul mark with the future number one hero"

"And I am... thank you for this, but I need some time to think"

Endeavor huffs, dissatisfied that he wasn't able to get the answer immediately, he unlocks the door, Izuku lets himself out and back to Shoto who was waiting restlessly.

"Are you alright?" Izuku nods.

"Don't worry, we really did just talk, I'm fine"

"Are you sure?"

"I am, come on, let's get you patched up now, okay?"
