Crocodile Tears (Violet O'Quinn x Biff Tannen)

(1084 words)

Here you go VioletTex1955.

Enjoying the sun from the summer California day while I had on my large sun hat, shorts, boots and a tied tank top humming to myself while I pulled weeds out of the front garden. Doing something with my time outdoors while a kept an ear out for Junior and Tiff.

The two kids that Biff and I had together, they're arguably the most beautiful things I've made in my life, and that says a lot with my clothing line. Putting the weeds I've pulled into a nearby bucket as I stood up, bushing my knees off and pulling the gardening gloves from my hands, checking for my wedding ring to make sure it was still on my finger and not lost in the glove.

Smiling as the red jewel that that was imbedded into the band glistened back at me. My smile fading as I heard a loud thud before the wails of one of the kids.

Turning around and scanning my green eyes over the equally green lawn I found, junior. He was on the concrete, his bike next to him as he was just starting to ride without his training wheels.

Smiling gently I walked over calmly, doing my best not to show my worry as I went to look him over. My close friend Anne has told me that panicking when a child falls can scare them and make them cry, even when they aren't hurt since they see our reaction.

Kneeling down as Tiff was at her brothers side with me, being a protective older sister. I smiled gently at her.

"Hey peanut, did you fall off your bike again?"

My son turned to look up at me, his blue eyes welling up with tears as he nods quickly. His hand covering a scrape on his knee.

Turning my attention to his knee I hummed gently while moving his small hand. Clicking my tongue against my teeth I furrowed my brows slightly as there was blood oozing from the scrape.

Looking up at him the tears starting to fall from his blue eyes. "Honey, don't give me the crocodile tears. It'll be okay, come on let's go inside."

He nods as we stand up, him grabbing my hand gently, his sister pulling the bike from the driveway so Biff wouldn't have to later. Getting inside I called for Parker, my head butler.

Watching him turn the corner into the foyer he took a look at the situation before giving me a nod. Going for the peroxide and some gauze. Picking up junior and putting him on the table. I got everything ready to clean the scrape.

Parker stopping by again and giving the boy his favorite frozen treat, before handing one to Tiff as well. While he was distracted with his sweet I cleaned the wound as fast as I could without causing him anymore discomfort. Putting a bandaid on his knee I smiled gently to him before kissing his forehead, with him offering me a lick of his popsicle I smiled gently.

Licking the treat gently and letting him back down to sit at the table, I cleaned up the peroxide and gauze. Taking my hat off I decided to take a quick shower, having Parker keep an eye on the kids as I did so.

Walking up the stairs quickly I made my way to the master bathroom, once I gathered my clothes I started to let the water warm up as I took my makeup off and the pins from my hair. Putting the pins onto the holder in the bathroom I sighed gently.

Climbing into the shower and cleaning myself of the dirty and sweat from being outside I breathed a sigh of relief from the days small crisis being washed down the drain.

Getting dressed and drying my hair as much as I could before I went outside, it was just in time for my husband to open the door and come inside from work. The two kids running up to him as always and dog-piling on him as usual.

Smiling while leaning on the banister he looks up at me and gives me the same toothy grin that caught me in the first place. Feeling my heart pound slightly as the kids ran off to play, I watched as he walked up the stairs to me.

He leaned down to give me a kiss as I smiled gently. "Welcome home, love."

"Good to be home, Tex. How was the day with me gone?"

He made his way towards the bedroom, putting his things down before taking off a few of his more business side accessories of his attire before looking at me. Immediately stopping as he sees me.

"What's with the crocodile tears, vi?"

Sniffling as I brushed my finger under my eye, grabbing one of the tears from my cheek. I shook my head as I looked at the floor. He closed the door before he hugged me quickly, picking me up before sitting with me on his lap on the bed.

"I was outside with the kids while I was doing some gardening and they were replaying, and junior fell off his bike and cut up his knee. I didn't cry in front of him but I felt so bad, and he was crying so it broke my heart and it all just sucked so much."

Feeling him chuckle as he held me in his arms, I lazily slapped his arm. "Shut up, it's not funny"

"Mama Bear is more protective than I thought. Kids will fall down and get hurt, just as long as you're there to pick them up and kiss their scrapes is all that matters."

Nodding as I looked at him, he wiped my tears with his thumbs before giving me a quick kiss. Wrapping my arms around him I smiled gently as it calmed me down. Feeling him stand again and set me on the bed, be went for my pack of cigarettes that were on the vanity.

Hearing him pack the tobacco with his palm as he tapped the small carton against it, I held my hands out like a kid wanting candy. Taking the box and the lighter from him I grabbed one between my lips before lighting it and taking a hit.

Holding it for a second, I released it and looked at him, calming down. "I love you, Tannen."

"I love you even more, Tex."
