{49} I Fell Apart
Chapter Forty Nine I Fell Apart
It was finally Friday and I planned on staying in for the night to do my assignments for the week but of course with the group of friends I had, it seemed like my plans weren't going to happen. Cassidy been plotting this night for some days now and she wouldn't give up until everyone agreed to go.
"Do I really have to go?" I asked, sitting on my bed.
"Yes! Everyone's going."
"I don't know, Cass. It seems like every time we do go out, something always happens."
Whether it be me getting totally wasted, or doing something I had no business doing. The last time we went to the club as a group we winded up in jail.
"We're not going to jail again." She said, rolling her eyes. "Think of it as a couple night out with me, Nolan, Hailey, Levi, Jayce and you."
"What about Sabrina and Anthony?"
"They have their own plans." She told me. "So are you gonna say yes now?"
"You're not gonna stop bugging so I really don't have a choice but to say yes."
She smiled. "That's my girl." She stood up. "Alright get dressed. We're leaving in thirty minutes."
Groaning, I got off my bed and headed for my closet. I looked through the outfits I had and pulled out a short olive green halter dress along with gold straps heels.
I did my make up simple because I was short on time. I left my hair in its natural curly state. I put on my dress and stepped into the heels.
"Looking good, girl." Cassidy commented.
I smiled. "Thanks. You do too." I said, glancing at her outfit.
She wore a dress as well and her dark long hair was in a high ponytail. We grabbed our purse and walked out the room. We stepped into the warm night air and headed for Cassidy's car.
"They're gonna meet us up there." She informed me as she reversed out.
"We are we going?"
"You'll see." She smiled. "It'll be fun, I promise."
Not long enough, we arrived to a karaoke bar. I spotted Jayce's trunk along with Levi's car. Cassidy and I walked into the building and scanned the room until we found our group.
"Hey, baby." Jayce greeted me as I sat beside him.
"Hey." I told him as I held his hand.
We enjoyed ourselves as we listened to different people go on stage and sing their hearts out. Some couldn't a hit a note to save their life but I wasn't one to talk because neither could I.
"You didn't sign us up, right?" Hailey asked Levi.
He shook his head. "No, we didn't. We knew how mad y'all would be if we did and we didn't need that."
Hailey smiled. "Good."
"I bet if Dad was here, he would've." I said.
"You don't mention that loser." Levi replied.
I rolled my eyes. "It was a week ago, let it go already."
"I will not." He said. "If you forgotten, he's the reason why we lost the kickball tournament."
"Yeah we know." Nolan said. "He couldn't help it. The sun was in his eyes."
"So he claimed." Cassidy said.
"He should've said something and I would've caught the ball." Jayce said.
"Well we can't do anything about it now." I told them. "At least we placed second and got a t-shirt."
We were so engaged in our conversation we didn't realized the host was talking about our little group until the bright spotlight was directly on us. I threw my hand up to block the light.
"I thought you said you didn't sign us up." Hailey said, glaring at Levi.
"We didn't!" Nolan said.
"Then why's the light on us?" Cassidy asked.
"This is random night." The host said. "We pick random people, unexpectedly. So get up here, girls."
The crowd started cheering for us as we sat there like idiots. I looked at Hailey and Cassidy.
"If we gotta do this, so are y'all." Cassidy said, standing up.
I followed behind them as we walked into the stage. We looked at each other.
"What song are we gonna do?" I asked.
"Don't worry about that." The host said. "It will select for you. Just press the botton at the bottom."
Hailey clicked the bottom and it moved quickly through the list until it stopped.
"Beautiful by Akon." I read. "Okay, I can do this."
"Good cause you're singing first then me and then Hailey." Cassidy said, starting the music.
I nodded my head to the beat until the words popped up and I went along with the cursor as it moved across the screen.
"When I see you, I run out of words to say." I sang as I pointed to Jayce and he grinned. "I wouldn't leave you, cause your that type of girl that makes me stay."
"I see the guys tryna holla, girl I don't want to bother you, cause your independent and you got my attention." Hailey sang.
"And I'll be your baby father, girl I just want to show you, that I love what you are doing." Cassidy sang.
Then we all joined together.
"I see you in the club, you gettin down, I wanna get with you. I see you in the club, you showin thugs love. That wanna get with you."
I looked at Hailey and Cassidy.
"You're so beautiful, so damn beautiful Said you're so beautiful, so damn beautiful. You're beautiful."
We had fun dancing and singing on the stage and the audience loved us. We were being goofy and I loved it. This was so fun. Even though I couldn't sing, I wouldn't mind doing this again.
After the music ended, the crowd clapped and cheered for us as we made our way back to our table.
"Alright, alright, alright!" The host said. "I know they were amazing. Guys, think you can do better?"
"Hell yeah." Levi said.
Here we go again with the competition. I sat down and we watched the boys head to the stage. Nolan pressed the botton and Levi nodded his head and I knew it had to be a song he liked. Even Jayce was grinning at it.
When the music began to play, I knew why. They were the only ones who could change a goofy, fun atmosphere to a sexually one. We were no longer at a karaoke bar but a stripped club, featuring Magic Mike and his friends.
"You see you searching for somebody that'll take you out and do you right. Well come here baby and let daddy show you what it feel like." Jayce sang while looking at me.
Just to let you know, Jayce could sing and he had me feeling some type of way.
"You know all you gotta do is tell me what you're sipping on And I promise that I'ma keep it coming all night loooong."
The girls were going wild over the boys. They literally stood in front of the stage and started throwing ones at them. It really was a strip club and the boys were enjoying themselves.
"Okay that was unexpected." The host said as he walked onto the stage. "But I gotta say, the ladies loved it."
That earned some loud cheering and whistling. He didn't even have to ask who won because everyone knew, hands down. It wasn't really fair but it wasn't their fault they got that song.
"Was that little show y'all put on for them or us?" Cassidy asked with a arched eyebrow.
"For y'all, obviously." Levi said as he wrapped his arm around Hailey's shoulders.
"Seemed to enjoy it a little too much." I teased.
"You can't sing that song and not get into it." Jayce replied.
The night went on filled with more laughter and smiles. But, it wasn't over quite yet. It was Friday and I was dressed up so of course we had to got to the club. It just made sense according to Cassidy. This was her plan from the very beginning.
"I'm not staying for long." I warned Cassidy as we walked into the already crowded club.
"Yeah, yeah." She said, waving me off. "Let's dance!"
Cassidy grabbed Hailey and yanked her to the dancefloor.
"How you gonna take my girl away from me?" Levi yelled but Cassidy probably still didn't hear him over the music.
"I'm gonna get a drink, you coming?" Nolan asked Jayce.
He shook his head. "I'll get one later."
"Alright." He said before him and Levi headed to the bar.
Jayce slipped his hand into mine and I smiled. He nodded his head to towards the dance floor as he spoke.
"Let's go."
I didn't say anything but I followed him as he led the way to where we had some room to dance. I linked my arms around his neck as his hand went to my hips.
"Are you gonna give me a show like last time?"
He was talking about the time I dance in front of the whole club and to be honest, I didn't even remember what I did. My body did its own little thing but it had to be great if I captured everyone's attention in a good way.
I smiled. "That was nothing."
"Oh really? I thought it was..."
"Unnecessary, excruciatingly painful to watch." I filled in for him.
"At the time, yeah but now I wouldn't mind seeing you dance again."
I leaned closer to him until my lips were right next to his ear.
"If we were alone right now, I'll show you something that would leave you a daze."
I leaned back to see his expression and smirked when I saw how his once amused expression had changed to a serious one.
"Let's get outta here." He said.
I laughed. "No, we're staying but don't worry, I'll dance for you sooner or later."
We continued to dance for a little while longer until my feet were killing me. We walked through the crowd until we found Hailey and Levi sitting at one of the tables.
"Where's Cassidy?" I asked.
"She's still dancing." Hailey said. "She took Nolan with her."
"I don't understand how she has so much energy." I replied as I sat down.
"Neither do I. The girl could run a marathon and she have energy to run some more." Hailey said.
"The girl is from the jungle. I keep telling y'all." Levi responded. "She has to be a descendant of a tiger."
"You might be onto something." Jayce said. "She's fierce, aggressive, unpredicatable." He listed. "She has to be a tiger."
"Those are all negative things." Hailey said.
"Yeah. Cassidy has a sweet side to her." I defended my best friend.
Levi made a face. "Where?"
"If you weren't so mean to her, you would know. She's caring and nice." I replied.
Jayce rolled his eyes. "I can't remember a time where Cassidy was ever nice to me."
"Neither can I." Levi agreed.
Then Cassidy showed up, pulling Nolan with her.
"Whoo, I can't dance anymore." She said, sitting down. She looked around. "What y'all talking about?"
"Oh nothing." Hailey said. "Just about tigers."
Cassidy narrowed her eyes. "They were talking about me, weren't they?"
Before Hailey and I could say anything, Cassidy looked at Levi, shooting daggers.
"I know it was you! So what you say?"
"Why do you assume it was me?" Levi asked.
"Cause I know you. You always got something to say."
That's what our night consisted of; Levi and Cassidy arguing. I was kinda glad when we left and got them to separate. It stopped the arguing. But it was just them. It would always be them. They had this weird bond where they can't say anything nice about each other but it work for them because they knew they were just playing.
After my shower, I got into my bed and pulled the covers up over me. I needed my sleep and I was happy when my eyelids closed on its own without any troubles.
I dreamt about the sky that night. It was strange because I was just staring at the sky, looking for something. But I couldn't see whatever it was but I felt it. To me it was a weird feeling that I didn't know what I was feeling. Maybe it was wholeness. I didn't know.
My dream was interrupted by a sharp pain. I wrapped my arms around my stomach and groaned. My stupid period decided to make an entrance.
I turned on my light and lift the covers off me. I looked down and saw all the blood. I wasn't light but I wasn't a very heavy bleeder. The pain hit me again and knew something was very wrong.
I looked over at Cassidy and she was knocked out, her hair was all over her face and her mouth was wide open.
"Cass." I said.
She didn't moved so I said her name again.
"Cassidy."
"What?" She muttered with her eyes still closed.
"I'm bleeding." I told her.
"Congratulations, you got your period." She said as she turned her head the other way.
"No, Cassidy, I'm bleeding." I said more firmly.
She looked over at me and saw my hand over my stomach. I closed my eyes, tightly as the pain continued, then opened them. Cassidy got out her bed and moved over to me.
"We're going to hospital." She told me.
In the second, I knew she knew what was going on but she didn't want to tell. She didn't want to worry me. She grabbed a jacket and my shoes for me. I put them on and she helped me to the car.
She hurriedly got into the driver's side after she helped get inside the car. She sped to the hospital that wasn't far away from us.
Even though she didn't call anyone while I was with her, I knew she was going to. It was just the natural thing to do.
Tears filled my eyes, as I sat in the wheelchair. I knew something bad was happening. I knew it and there wasn't anything I could do to stop it.
And right then and there, I fell apart.
