{43} We Could Be Louder
Chapter Forty Three We Could Be Louder
We the left the house around seven in the morning but not before Mom asked Levi and I had everything three times. I was exhausted but excited for the trip to California. On the way to the airport, I rested my head against the seat.
When we arrived to the airport, Mom got out the car to help us unload our suitcase.
"Cole, you have the debit card, right?" Mom asked for the fifth time.
"Yes, Mom."
She nodded her head. "Okay. I'm just making sure. Be sure you call me when your land, okay?"
"Okay."
"Bye, sweetie." She hugged me. "Have a wonderful time."
"You too." I told her before walking inside the airport.
Hailey and Jayce were arrived sitting when we got to where are plane was leaving from. We had fifteen minutes or so before we could start loading onto the plane.
I leaned my head against Jayce's shoulder wanting to take a quick nap. I felt him kiss my forehead before I was under sleep's control.
It didn't even feel like a minute had passed by before I was being woken up. I slowly opened my eyes and Hailey and Levi were standing up, gathering their stuff.
"Come on, we're getting on the plane." Jayce informed me.
I stood up and wrapped my fingers around my suitcase and followed behind them. We went through security and checked our suitcases in.
We walked through the doors that led to the plane and the flight attendant showed us were are seats were. While Levi and Hailey sat behind us with an old lady, I sat in the middle of a random guy who was a few years than me and Jayce.
I turned my phone on airplane mode after I sent Mom a text informing her we were on the plane. I placed my head back on Jayce's shoulder and prayed he wouldn't wake me up until we were in California.
That was three hours from now. Yet I woke up an hour later when the plane shook a little. I noticed I had drooled on Jayce and I looked up to see he was sleeping. I hoped he wouldn't realized the wet spot on his shirt.
I stretched and accidentally hit the guy sitting beside me. I immediately dropped my arms and started apologizing.
"I'm so sorry."
He looked up from his phone and smiled. "It's fine. Don't worry about it."
I looked over my shoulder to see Levi and Hailey were sleeping as well. I turned around when the guy asked me a question.
"So where are you headed?"
"California."
"For spring break?" He guessed.
I nodded my head. "Yeah. My mom surprised us with it."
He rose an eyebrow. "Us?"
"My brother, his girlfriend and my boyfriend." I clarified.
"I should've knew he was your boyfriend but I didn't want to assume anything. Especially when I thought I might've had a chance with you."
I gave him a small smile. I was so glad Jayce was still asleep otherwise this situation wouldn't have been all that great.
"Sorry. I'm taken."
He nodded. "Understandable. You're a very attractive woman."
"Um, thank you."
I looked away from him and he went back to looking on his phone. I grabbed Jayce's hand and leaned my on his shoulder waiting for him to wake up.
Luckily for me, I didn't have to wait very long. I felt his warm breath on my ear as he said,
"How about we join the mile high club?"
I glanced around me to see if anyone might've heard him but no one did. Maybe the guy sitting next to me but he didn't react to it.
"How about we don't."
"C'mon Cole. It'll be fun."
I shook my head. "Maybe next time."
"I'm holding you to that, Mickey."
We landed in California a hour and half later. I stood up and started to make my way off the plan.
"Have a great trip, Cole." The guy that I was sitting next told me.
"Same to you."
Jayce frowned as he grabbed my hand and we walked off the plane.
"Who was that and how does he know your name?"
"I spoke to him for a little bit while you were sleeping and I don't know how he knew my name. I never told him." I said. "Maybe he overheard you saying my name."
Jayce hummed in response. "While we're in California, stay close to me at all times."
We waited for our bags to circle back around to grabbed them and walked through the front of the airport.
"Mom said that they car should be already here waiting for us." Levi informed us.
I looked around and saw a few cars off to the side and a person standing beside it.
"Is it over there?" I asked, pointing in the direction of the cars.
"Let's go see." Levi said.
We walked over to the parking lot and Jayce walked up to the lady.
"Do you have a car under Vonna Ryder?"
They lady looked through her papers on her clipboard and nodded her head once she saw Vonna's name.
"Yes, I do." She said. "I need you to sign here and here."
Jayce told the pen and signed his name twice before she gave us the keys to the rental. We walked towards the white Impala and put our bags into the trunk before climbing inside.
Levi drove while Hailey gave him directions to Anaheim. It was just ten minutes away from the airport. Levi pulled into the hotel we were going to be staying at from the next five days. It was Marriott.
Levi found a parking spot and we stepped out the car and grabbed our bags from the back. We walked inside the nice hotel and we to the front desk.
"How can I help you?" The man asked.
"We have two rooms under Blair Jaxon." Hailey informed him.
He typed into the computer and pulled up our information.
"Oh yes. Room 431 and 432 for five nights. It's that correct?"
Hailey nodded her head. "Yes."
"Okay. Here's your room keys and if you need anything just let us know."
We piled into the elevator and rode up to floor four. We walked down the hall until we reached our rooms. We were acrossed from one another.
"We'll get this one." Levi said, referring to 432. "Don't try anything with my sister, Jayce."
He walked inside the room and Jayce smiled.
"Little does he know, I'm gonna try everything with you."
I rolled my eyes as I opened our room door. I walked inside and loved how decorated our room was. It's main color was green and blue.
I started unpacking. I placed my hair supplies and make up kit into the bathroom along with toiletries.
Jayce laid in the white covered bed and watched me.
"You're not gonna unpack?"
He shook his head. "No point in it."
After I had everything unpacked, I decided to call my mom. I informed her we made it safely and everything ran smoothly. She was happy I called her and before hanging up, she reminded me to be safe and care.
Due to the different two hour time change, we decided to hang out in the hotel and start our trip, tomorrow.
Haliey knocked on our door twenty minutes later and asked if I wanted to join her at spa. Jayce didn't want me to go because he said he give me a better back massage than them. I told him that his massage would just led to something else.
"What's wrong with that?" He asked. "I think it's a very good idea."
I opened the door. "Bye Jayce."
I followed Hailey to the main floor and we went to the spa area. We signed in and they handed us a white robe. We went into the dressing room to get undress and place the robe on.
We started with our face, then our back, and finished with our feet getting rubbed. And let me tell you, that was very much needed. I felt so much better and I could tell Hailey did too. She was less tense and more relaxed.
We got dressed into our normal clothes and texted the boys to meet us on the first floor. It was a little after noon and we haven't ate all day.
"Where do y'all wanna go?" Levi asked as we were walking to the car.
I shrugged. "It doesn't matter to me."
"Same." Hailey said.
"Do y'all just wanna go to IHOP." Jayce suggested.
"That's fine with me." Levi said.
"I'm good with that." Hailey said.
Levi drove us to the nearest IHOP and we walked inside. We were sitted and our waiter asked us what we wanted to drink. Hailey and I got orange juice while Jayce got stawberry lemonade and Levi got sprite.
He came back with our drinks a few minutes later and we all knew what we wanted to ordered.
"Let's get this out the way." Levi started. "What do y'all wanna do tomorrow?"
"I wanna go to the zoo." Hailey said.
"I wanna Disneyland." I replied.
"Beach." Jayce said.
"I pick beach too."
"So we're just gonna be at the beach all day." I responded.
He nodded. "Yeah. It's spring break I'm pretty sure they're gonna have some sort of party."
"Then can we go to zoo?" Hailey asked.
Levi nodded. "Yeah. I know how much you wanna be with your people."
Hailey hit his chest hard.
"I'm just playing, babe."
"And the next day, we're going to Disneyland."
"What are we gonna do the day after?" Jayce asked.
Levi shrugged. "Whatever pops up."
Our food arrived and I cut into my French toast. After we ate, we drove away Anaheim, looking at the new place. I took a few pictures of the palm trees.
"Hey since we're out can we get snacks for the rooms?" I asked.
"We knew your fatass was gonna ask that." Levi said.
I hit on the back of his head at the same time Hailey hit him.
"Are y'all trying to die." He said. "You don't hit the driver."
"Well the driver should stop being so stupid. I know that's a hard challenge for you." I told him.
He stopped at a small store and I climbed out. I walked inside the store and started grabbing my favorite things.
"You might as well clean the whole store out." Levi said.
I flipped him off and continued to grab as many things as I can hold in my arms. I went the counter and placed my snacks down. The man looked at my snacks then at me.
"Trust me, she could eat it all." Jayce said as he walked through the aisle looking for his own snacks.
The man looked at Jayce and smiled. "Got a keeper, don't you?"
I glanced at Jayce. "Yeah."
"He's very handsome."
"Yes, he is."
While he was checking my things out, he was always checking Jayce out. His eyes would follow Jayce around the small store and he would smile a little.
Now I didn't want to assume anything but I mean come on. I didn't say anything because there was no way in he he had a chance with Jayce. It wasn't happening.
"Here you go." He said, giving me my bags.
I grabbed them and stood to the side when Jayce approached with his snacks. He sat them down and the man named, Adam, smiled hugely.
"Is that all for you, Boss?"
I rose an eyebrow. Boss?
Jayce nodded. "Yeah, man that's it."
Jayce didn't have the slightly clue to what was going on and I pressed my lips together to keep from smiling.
Throughout the check out, Adam would drop some harmless flirting and Jayce didn't pick up on any of them.
I waited until we walked outside the store to tell him about Adam.
"You know he's gay, right?"
"Who?"
"That guy in there."
He frowned. "How do you know that?"
I smiled. "Because while you were getting your snacks, he was telling me how handsome your were and he kept smiling at you. Then while you were checking out, he was flirting with you."
"No, he wasn't."
I nodded my head. "Yes, he was. Just think about it."
I saw him thinking about their encounter and then it clicked inside his mind. He looked at me.
"You were just gonna let him hit on me!" He asked.
I smiled. "I didn't see anything wrong with it. Beside, you're all mine."
"Next time, a heads up will be very much appreciated."
"Got it."
We went back to the hotel and I placed my drinks into the mini fridge and my snacks on the dressed. Jayce did the same. We laid in bed and watched tv until I got to sleepy. It was only eight over here but I was still used to Texas' time so I got ready for bed early.
I take my time in the shower and let the water run down my body. I was pretty sure I was in there for half an hour. I dried off and placed my pyjamas on which consisted of a over sized t-shirt and cotton shorts.
I put my thick, curly, hair into a bun and once I brushed my teeth, I walked out the bathroom.
Jayce glanced at me and smiled. "Looking as beautiful as always."
I sat beside him. "Being nice isn't gonna get you anywhere tonight."
"Damn." He swore, lightly. "I guess I'm just gonna have to shower this one off then."
I smiled. "I guess so."
"You're a cruel person." He told me as he got up and made his way towards the bathroom.
I watched Family Guy for about twenty minutes before the bathroom door opened and Jayce emerged from it wearing just a towel covering his lower half.
"I forgot my clothes." He said, cheekily.
"Sure you did."
He walked back into the bathroom and a few minutes later, he came back wearing just grey cotton sweatpants.
He laid on top of my legs as he wrapped his arms around my stomach. We watched tv for a few hours until I heard banging against the wall.
I glanced at Jayce. "Do you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
I turned the volume down and the noise happened again.
"That." I said.
The noise gradually started picking up and as their moans and grunts got louder. It was the same noise I heard from Jayce's eighteenth birthday. It was Hailey and Levi because their room was across from ours so it was some random people.
Jayce looked at me. "I bet we could be louder."
"Not happening."
"I'm gonna change your mind sooner or later." He promised.
I smiled. "I know you will." I agreed. "But it's not gonna be tonight."
