Chapter Forty Two An Unexpected Trip

Spring break had finally arrived and I was very much grateful for the week off. I needed the break to ease my mind. College was stressful and I couldn't wait to be finish with my first year.

But of course, my teachers couldn't give me a break. They gave us assignments that would keep us occupied for a while. I decided that they sooner I got them finish went, the better it would be for me.

So while everyone enjoyed their first day off, I locked myself into my room and got busy to completing my hell of assignments.

It took me a few hours to get them finished but at least they wouldn't have to be on my mind anymore.

Hailey couldn't risk giving us a week off so during our break, we would have schedule practices here and there. Most people had plans for the break and so instead of canceling them, Hailey told them to practice the routine in their spare time.

But for the ones who were going to be here, we didn't have a choice. You had to be there unless you had a very good reason for missing it.

Mom and Vonna planned a surprised trip for us and they said it was a special treat for us because of all the hard work we had put in during the year.

"So we are we going?" Levi asked. "Is it Hawaii?"

Mom shook her head. "No, it's not Hawaii but someone nice. I think you'll enjoy it."

"It's California." Vonna informed us. "You're hotel is in Anaheim and it's for five nights. Now of course we got two rooms. One for the boys and the another one for the girls but we knew that's not how it's going to stay. If.." She stopped to correct herself. "When you switch rooms, please don't do anything stupid."

Mom nodded her head. "I prefer you all to stay in your designated room but I know how you get so be safe."

"So..when do we leave?" Levi asked.

"In the morning." Mom replied. "So go pack for five days and pack extras just in case."

Levi and I made our way up the stairs to get everything ready for our unexpected trip. Since we were going to be California, I packed shorts and short sleeves shirts. I put in a few bathing suits and pajamas. I packed my make up bag and all my hair supplies.

Everything else, I would pack in the morning. I set my suitcase by my door as I walked out my room and downstairs.

"That's not fair!" Landon was saying as I entered the living room. "Why do they get to go to California and we have to stay here."

"If you would wait and patient, I was going to tell you Blair and I are taking you, Skylar and Devon to Florida."

"Oh." Was all Landon said.

"We're leaving the day after them." Mom added.

"So what are we gonna do in Florida?" Landon asked.

"It's a surprise." Vonna told her son.

Skylar bounced up and down, excitedly, on her toes. "I can't wait! Momma, can we see the sea turtles and dolphins?"

Vonna smiled at her. "I'm sure we can do that."

"I'm fine with that as long as we see sharks." Landon said.

"Sharks are horrible." Skylar told him. "They're mean."

I glanced over to Jayce and he was wearing his black shark tooth I gave him for his birthday.

"Sharks are amazing." He argued.

"No, they're not."

"Yes, they are."

"Nuh uh."

"Uh huh."

They kept going back and forth until Vonna stepped in.

"Are you seriously going to argue with a six year old?"

"She started it." Jayce said like a five year old.

Skylar stuck her tongue at him and Jayce did the same.

Vonna shook her head, slowly, in disappointment and I laughed. They were adorable.

"If we're all leaving, who's gonna watch Koda and Bear?" I asked.

"Your father and Michael." Mom said. "They don't want to go with us to Florida. They would rather stay here and be stupid on their own, I guess."

Vonna nodded her head. "I wouldn't be surprised if we came back and one of them wounded up in the hospital."

"Where's the faith?" I asked.

"Honey that disappeared the moment your father decided that it would be a great idea to use Michael as a stepping stool to get on the roof instead of using a ladder."

I smiled. "What happened?"

"Richard broke his arm and Michael dislocated his shoulder." Vonna replied. "After that, their stupidity continued to carry on."

"That must be the reason why Levi came out the way he did." I joked.

Levi narrowed his eyes at me. "I'm not dumb."

"Okay before you two start arguing," Mom interrupted. "Levi did you tell Hailey about the trip?"

He nodded his head. "Yeah. She's rearranging her schedule right now."

"I probably should've asked her if she had any plans before throwing this trip at her."

"It's fine. She's okay with it." Levi responded. "Beside, she needed the trip."

I nodded my head in agreement. "She really does. She's been stressed about Nationals."

"Well it's a good thing they have a spa at the hotel you'll be staying at." Mom said.

It was getting closer to be dark and Mom and Vonna decided to make dinner for us. I sat on the couch as Skylar picked a movie for us to watch.

It was Beauty and the Beast.

"What is with y'all two and Disney movies?" Levi asked me and Skylar.

"They're the best." I answered. "And guess what Levi? They have a spot open for a leading role."

When Levi was younger, he always talked about being an actor. He still wanted to be one but now he's being more realistic.

"Really? For what?"

I smiled. "They need someone to play the beast and I thought of you."

He glared at me as he flipped me off. I laughed.

"I'm just playing, Levi."

He rolled his eyes. "Sure, whatever."

Dinner was ready an hour later and we gathered around the table. We talked about what we wanted to do on our trip and what we didn't want to do. All Skylar wanted to see was sea animals. She was obessed with them. Landon wanted to go to some waterpark they had in Florida.

Levi and Jayce wanted to go to a beach party and I wanted to go to Disneyland.

"Of course you do." Jayce said.

"Hey! Disneyland isn't just for kids, you know."

"Momma, what does this mean?"

We all looked at Skylar and my jaw dropped, Landon and Jayce started laughing and Levi was scooting his chair back to leave.

Skylar had her middle finger up in the air for the whole world to see.

Vonna's eyes widen. "Who showed you that?"

"Levi did it to Cole." Skylar said.

Vonna and Mom looked at Levi who was standing up now. Mom crossed her arms over her chest.

"You see what had happened was-"

"Save it." Mom said.

"It was an accident. Cole called me ugly and I forgot she was right there."

"I didn't call him ugly. I said he could play the beast if he wanted to."

"Honey, don't do what Levi does, okay?" Vonna said.

Skylar nodded her head. "Okay."

"Sit down." Mom ordered Levi.

He did and we resumed eating. After dinner, I helped Mom clean up the kitchen. Once we were finished, they informed more about our trip in the morning.

"The reservation for the rooms are under my name and the rental car is under Vonna's. The car should be at the airport by the time y'all arrive but if it's not call me and let me know."

"And you don't have to bring your own money. Everything is paid for and we're giving y'all a debit card. It's for food and whatever else y'all might need. But if you want, you can take your own money to buy whatever if you somehow run out of money on the card."

Levi and Jayce both looked at me and I frowned.

"What?"

"She's gonna be the reason why we ran out of money." Levi said.

I put my hands on my hips. "No, I'm not."

"Yes, you are. You and Hailey are gonna want to shop and next thing you know, all the money's gone." Levi replied.

"Really." Jayce agreed.

I rolled my eyes. "If I do go shopping, I wouldn't spend mom's money. I'll use my hard working earned money."

"Yeah sure you will." Levi said.

"I'm not gonna say anything else." I walked out the living room and pulled my phone out.

I forget to inform Wes I wouldn't be able to work this week. He just told me to find someone to fill in for me. I knew the perfect person but she was going to be mad at me.

"Cassidy, please can you take my spot?" I begged.

"I shouldn't because y'all didn't even think about inviting me to California. How y'all gonna take Hailey but not me?"

"For the last time, I didn't plan the trip. My mom and Vonna did. They probably just assumed you and Nolan had your own plans."

"They didn't think that but fine I'll work for you. But you owe me big time."

I smiled. "Thank you, Cass."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." She said. "Have fun for the both of us, will ya?"

"You got it."

"And use protection!" She added.

"Bye Cass."

I hung up before she could say anything else irrevelant and obscured. I walked into the living room and Vonna was picking up a sleeping Skylar.

"Drive safe." Mom was telling Vonna.

"I will. Have a good night."

I hugged her when she walked passed me and Landon too. Jayce was following behind them.

"You're leaving too?"

He nodded. "Yeah. I have to get up early."

I followed him outside and Vonna was putting Skylar into the backseat as Landon got into the passenger's side.

"Jayce be careful on the way home, okay?" Vonna told her son as she made her way around to the driver's seat.

"Okay, Mom."

The warm air breezed my arm as I looked up at the starry sky. My eyes dropped when Jayce placed his hands around my waist.

"You know what we're gonna need for this trip, right?"

I shook my head. "No. What do we need?"

He smirked. "Condoms and a whole lot of them."

I rolled my eyes. "I never said I was going to sleep with you during this trip."

"You didn't have to. It's gonna happen."

I smiled. "Oh really?"

"Hell yeah it is."

"I guess we'll have to see about that, won't we?"

"Guess we will."

I trailed my hand down his chest to his abs and kept going lower until his grabbed my hand, stopping me.

"Don't do that, Mickey." He warned me.

"Why not?"

"I don't think your mom will find it amusing if she walked outside and saw me having my way with her only daughter."

I smiled. "She wouldn't." I agreed.

"Something we can agree on." He said.

I stepped on my tip toes to kiss him and those sparks shot through my body, creating the fire he could only make. I never wanted it to end but of course I had to breathe sooner or later.

I pulled away to get oxygen but he attached his warm, lips right back on mine.

"I can't get enough of you." He muttered against my lips. "You're all I can think about."

I was going to leave him wanting more. I pressed our bodies closer and rubbed up against him. A soft groan escaped from him and I smiled through our kiss.

I removed my hand from his and let it glide underneath his shirt to feel his skin. I could feel his bulge and once I was satisfied with what I got, I back away.

I smirked. "Good night, Jayce."

"You fucking tease."

I laughed. "I love you too."

"I'm gonna make you reget this, baby." He promised.

"I don't doubt it for a second." I said as I walked inside the house, locking the door behind me.

I went to my room and prepared myself for the payback Jayce had in store for me.
