Chapter Four Hunter's Home

"Just one more" Cassidy slurred her words, slinging her arm over my shoulders. She was drunk there was no denying that.

After we left Main Event, we headed straight to Caboose. The guys insisted that if they were going to pay for our food then at least let them have a beer. That one beer turned into five beers which led to everyone besides Hailey and I being drunk.

I shook my head. "No, Cass." I deny her of her last drink.

She huffed out in frustration. "Why not?" She whined.

"You're drunk that's why and you have class in the morning." I reminded her. I glanced at Hailey who was watching Levi.

"Time to go." I told her and she nodded her head.

"Come on, babe." She said, grabbing Levi and leading him outside.

"Nolan! Anthony!" I called. Their heads whipped to my direction. "Let's go." I nodded my head to the doors.

They groaned. "We're leaving already?" Nolan asked.

"It's one o'clock." I informed him but it didn't do much helping. "Just come on."

I unlocked Cassidy's car as I led her outside. I place her inside the car and buckled her before I shut the door.

Hailey walked over to me. "We have a problem." She said.

I frowned. "What is it?"

"Jayce is here."

How could I forget about Jayce? His eyes never left me. No matter how hard I tried to pretend he wasn't looking at me but somewhere else, it didn't work. I could still feel his eyes burn throughout me and light every fiber of my body.

But the problem was, not only was Jayce drunk he was also high and he drove himself up here.

"You can't take him with you, huh?" I asked already knowing the answer to it.

She gave me a small apologetic smile. "No. I can't."

She had Levi, Anthony and Nolan with her and the way they were laying in the car, there wasn't much room for another person to ride with them.

I signed. "It's alright. He can ride with us."

She nodded her head. "Okay. I'll see later."

She headed to the car and hopped inside. She pulled out the parking lot and headed to the college.

I glanced at Cassidy and she was already knocked out. I locked the doors before heading inside of Caboose.

I scanned the restuarant until my eyes landed on a dark headed and a blue eyed guy, flirting with a girl. She laughed at whatever he said to her.

I ignored the way my heart sunk a little and walked over to him.

"Jayce" I said, interrupting their conversation.

His head turned to look at me and I noticed his eyes are blood shot. He squinted his eyes at me before frowning.

"What?" His voice drowned in ice. I flinched at his tone.

Not even three hours ago, he was kissing me and making my heart race out my chest and now he acted like that moment never happened, it never existed. I should've known Jayce would never feel anything for me. He knew how my body would react to his touches and he didn't care as he teased me.

"We're leaving." I muttered, walking away from him.

I walked outside and headed to the car. Cassidy was still fast asleep as I got in. I waited for five minutes for Jayce to emerge from inside and when he finally did, he wasn't alone. He was with the same girl I saw him flirting with earlier.

Feeling betrayed somehow, I reversed the car and drove to the college. Cassidy kept muttering incoherent words the whole way back and I'm glad I made it to the campus without having much difficulties with Cassidy.

I unbuckled her and swung her arm over my shoulders as I yanked her out the car. I kicked the door shut and locked the doors. I dragged Cassidy to our dorm and it was hell.

I pushed open the door and walked inside. I place Cassidy down on her bed and took off her shoes. She adjusted herself to be more comfortable.

I grabbed my towel before heading out the room. I headed down the hall to the bathroom. I hung my towel on the hook before I turned on the water. I let the warm water relax my tense body before washing off.

I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around me before picking up my dirty clothes. I walked back to my room and Cassidy was snoring, loudly. She was going to have a bad hangover. I threw my clothes into the hamper and dried off before throwing on a red shorts and a white and black Mickey and Minnie tank top.

I set an alarm for 8 a.m. and crawled under my covers. My eyes closed and sleep took me in their arms.

My peaceful sleep didn't last very long because there was a loud knock on the door. Cassidy muttered something on the lines of "get the door".

I glanced at my phone. It was close to being three. I climbed out my comfortable bed when there was another loud knock. I opened the door and my eyes widen for a fraction before I replace it with a frown.

"What are you doing?"

"I don't have the keys to my room and Nolan won't open the door." He told me.

I shrugged, not seeing the point. "Sorry about your bad luck." I said as I was shutting the door.

"No! Wait!" He said, stopping me for shutting the door completely. "I don't have anywhere to go."

"Go ask your little slut for help." I advised him, trying once more to shut the door.

"Cole don't be like that, please."

I didn't know what made me do what I did the next second. Maybe it was the way he said it. His voice was filled with desperation and he needed help. I could not not help him. He was still my best friend even if I wasn't his. Or maybe it was the fact I felt something for him even if I didn't know exactly what it was but I let him.

"Okay fine." I gave in. "But you have the floor."

I moved so he could stepped inside. I grabbed a pillow off my bed and a cover and I gave them to him.

I hopped into my bed. "Try not to wake up Cassidy." I warned him before turning away from him.

"Thank you." He said as he settled onto the floor.

I closed my eyes and what for like seconds but were actually minutes I fell asleep. I dream of arms encircling my waist and drawing me closer to them. I could feel their hot breath on my skin, near my ear. I could feel their lips leave kisses on my neck. I could feel fire spreading throughout my body and I never wanted any one to put it out. It felt good. I felt warm. That was when I realize it wasn't a dream.

It was actually happening. My eyes opened and I turned my head to see Jayce laying behind me. His hand was on my hip and the other was holding my hair away from my neck so he could kiss me.

"What are you doing?" I asked annoyed.

"You said until the night ends." He responded. "Well the night is over." He continued to kiss my neck.

I sat up, stopping him. "Jayce." I whispered. "That's not what I meant."

"I know what you meant and I know you want this."

I stared at him. He couldn't possible know. Could he?

I shook my head. "You don't get it."

"Yes I do." He argued. "You feel the same thing I feel."

Before I have a chance to speak, his lips crashed into mine, sending me back into the wall. I didn't allow myself to kiss him back. If I did that, my whole entire being would melt into him. My heart is pounding uncontrollably and sparks shot through me as if I had touched electricity.

"Stop fighting it." He muttered against my lips and I gave up fighting aganist him and caved in. I kissed him back as my arms wrapped around his neck and pulled him closer. He gripped my hips and flipped us so I straddled him and his back was against the wall.

He moved his lips off mine and attacked my neck again. I gasped when he found my sweet spot. He sucked there for awhile before trailing down and leaving wet kisses in their spots.

He reconnected our lips and I moved closer to him and I accidentally grinded on him, letting out a soft moan from him.

He moved his hand back to my hips to hold me in place as he told me. "You better quit before I wake up Cassidy."

I smiled as I kissed him again one more time before I climbed off him. He laid beside and brought me closer to him.

"Go to sleep, Cole." He told me.

My eyed closed and I fell asleep but not before I felt Jayce kiss my forehead.

I woke to my alarm going off. I sat up and looked for Jayce but to my surprise he was already gone. I picked up my phone and turned off the alarm.

I glanced at Cassidy and she was still asleep. I told myself I would let her sleep for five more minutes before I woke her up. I threw the cover off me and got out my bed. I bent down to pick up the pillow and cover I gave Jayce last night or well technically this morning.

I folded it before placing it on my bed. I bite my lips as I remember what happened just hours ago. I could still feel his touch on me. I close my eyes, embracing the moment. I didn't know what it might be to Jayce but to me it felt like a new, promising beginning. I had a small ounce of sadness when I woke up to found out he wasn't there but I didn't waste time lingering on it instead I got ready.

I put on a white tight crop top that showed my belly button and put a red, white and black plaid shirt over it. I left the shirt unbuttoned. I slid on light blue jean shorts on before slipping my feet into my white converse.

I decided I let Cassidy sleep in long enough. "Cass." I shook her, lightly. "Wake up."

"Leave me alone." She muttered before rolling over to face away from me.

"Cass you have to class."

"I really don't feel like it."

"You didn't go last time so you're going today." I told her. "Now get up."

She let out a heavy exhale. "Okay fine."

I opened a bottle of pills and handed them to her. She took them into her hands.

"I really got drunk." She stated. "The last thing I remember is walking into Caboose and the rest is blank."

"Nothing happened the rest of the night." I assured her. "I drove us back here and dragged you into the room."

"That's must've been hell for you."

I nodded my head. "You have no idea."

She took the pills washing them down with water. "I'm gonna go take a quick shower." She informed me before walking out the room with her towel and body wash.

While she took her shower, I pulled out my make up bag. I sat in front of my full body mirror to do my make up. Today I went with an all natural look. I added a thin layer of eye liner and two coats of mascara before putting on chap stick.

Cassidy walked inside the room as I was doing my hair. I was putting it up in a bun with a couple of strands hanging beside my face when I noticed the same thing at the same time Cassidy did.

"Who the hell gave you that?" She asked looking at me in the mirror.

I felt a blush crept to my face and I put my head down. I remember Jayce finding my sweet spot and his mouth lingering there for a while but it never occurred to me he was going to give me a hickey.

But I couldn't tell Cassidy who gave it to me because I was supposed to be angry at him. How do I explain why I let Jayce give me a hickey when I didn't quite understand?

"Um.." I started.

"Cole." Cassidy interrupted me. "Who was in our dorm?"

I bite my lower lip. "Um, I don't remember."

She looked at me. "You're such a lair." She called me out.

"I really don't remember who gave it to me. I was kinda tispy last night."

"Mmhm." She hummed, still not believing me. "It's okay you don't have to tell me cause eventually I will find out."

I was grateful she didn't urge me any farther. I couldn't wear my hair up for obvious reason so I left it down.

Once Cassidy was ready we head to our Literature class.

"You know what I forgot." Cassidy said.

"What?"

"I didn't read the first one hundred page of Hamlet."

I laughed. "Hopefully for you, he doesn't ask you any questions."

"Hopefully" She repeated.

It was later in the day when I got a phone call from my mom. She wanted Levi and I to come to the house because she had an important announcement she wanted to tell us. Whatever it was I hoped it was something important this time and not like last time. Last year she said had an "important announcement" and it turned out to be her finished designed on the back yard.

Yeah it was an announcement but it wasn't important especially not at two o'clock in the morning.

So, Levi and I were heading to our house which was fifteen minutes away from the college. I made sure that I kept my neck hidden during class but I especially made sure it was out of sight when I was around Levi.

He lets a lot of things go by him but not someone marking his baby sister. When I dated Tyler he never let me out of his sight for a second. He was always watching and he make sure there was at least one foot between Tyler and I at all times. He was overprotective.

When I wasn't around Levi, I was stuck with Jayce and he was as bad as Levi and Hunter, my older brother. Eventually Tyler couldn't handle being watched every single second so he broke up with me. Levi and Hunter pretended to be sad for me but on the inside they were secretly happy.

Levi pulled into the driveway and Mom and Richard, Levi's and Hunter's father and my mom's husband, waited for us.

I climbed out the car and I hugged my mom before Richard hugged me. Even though he wasn't my real dad, he made me feel like I was his real daughter instead of his step-daughter.

"Hey, CJ" He greeted me.

"Hey, Dad." I responded back.

I waited until he man hugged Levi before we walked inside house. Mom stopped us from walking any farther into the house. She smiled really big.

I cocked an eyebrow. "What?"

"So as you already know there's an annoucement need to be made." She started. "Well guess who's finally home."

My eyes widen. "No way."

Mom nodded her head. "Yes. Hunter!" She called out.

My brother walked out from the living room, grinning and I ran to him, nearly knocking him over.

"Hunter, I missed you."

"I missed you too, squirt."

Hunter was twenty-five and when he finished college three years ago he went into the Marines.

"How long are staying?" Levi asked, doing their handshake.

"Just until Saturday." He replied.

My shoulders sunk at his respond. He was only staying for four days. I guess I should be happy he came at all. He only got 30 days of leaves each year and he spent most of it on Christmas Break and the rest he splits it up throughout the year.

"You're gonna be here for our first game." Levi said.

Hunter nodded his head. "Of course. I wouldn't miss it. You're going to do great." He looked at me. "And I'll be watching you too, squirt."

I smiled. When I was younger I used to hate his nickname but now I missed being called it every day.

We talked about everything we have been up to and Hunter informed us what he's been doing minus some parts. We caught up until Mom called us for dinner.

We sat around the table and we continued to talk. Everyone was happy. This was the first time we've been this happy since the day Hunter told us he was leaving for six months or more. But I didn't allow myself to think about that day any longer than I should have. I was just happy Hunter's home.
