Chapter Thirty Nine Something Entirely New
It was in that moment, right before I opened my eyes, I felt two emotions. I was between staying here in the bed, cuddled with him or fleeing before he woke up. I couldn't think straight laying on top of his bare chest with his arm wrapped around my waist, hugging me to him.
If I were to leave, I had to move carefully without waking him. Lord knew that alone was a challenge for me. I wasn't very stealthy.
I glanced up and watched him as he slept. His mouth was parted slightly as he took steady breaths. He looked calm and relaxed. He wasn't like me but maybe it was because he was still sleeping. He wasn't worried about the morning after like I was.
I decided to make my move while I could. I gently grabbed his arm and lifted it up. I moved underneath it as lightly as I could without distrubing him, as I stood. Once I was sure he wasn't going to wake up, I placed his arm down and gathered up my clothes.
I put them on as quickly as I could and walked, quietly, to the door. I twist the doorknob and I looked back over my shoulder. He had shifted to a different position but thankfully he was still asleep. I opened the door wide enough where I could slip out and shut it, gently.
I walked down the hallway and stairs. The party ended a few hours ago, yet there were a couple of people still here. They crashed out on the couch with red cups in their hand.
Unlike the left side, the right side was completely trashed. Food and drinks were laying everywhere, the furnitures were moved from their original spots and random trash covered the floor.
I glanced at the clock on the wall. It was about to be eight. I sighed as I walked farther into the living room.
As much as I rather leave, I couldn't leave Jayce's house in the state it was. Beside, I didn't have a way to leave anyway.
As I started to clean up, the two people on the couch had woke up. They ignored me as they got up and walked out the house. I gathered all the garbage and placed it in a trash bag.
The living room was cleaned and the furnitures were put back. I was working on the kitchen when I heard footsteps heading down the stairs, quickly.
I heard the front door opened and then it closed. His footsteps grew louder as he walked towards the kitchen and then they stopped.
"I thought you left." He said.
I glanced up and he was standing in the doorway. He only had on his sweatpants. His chest was bare as were his feet.
Once I looked into his eyes, I looked away and continued to clean. I moved away from the island and put the trash in another trash bag. I set it by the door. I was about to grab the broom, but he stopped me.
"Are you just gonna pretend last night didn't happen?" He asked, staring down at me.
There was no way I would ever forget about last night. It was impossible. He made sure of that. Of course it was my first time and his hundredth time but I was sure this was his first time that actually meant something.
His actions showed it. He was gentle and slow, allowing me to adjust to him. He never rushed; he was patient. It was amazing at the time but now I didn't know what to think.
I didn't have an excuse for my action last night. I wasn't drunk nor was he. So, I couldn't use that. I had nothing.
I shook my head. "No. It happened."
I moved away from him and he followed.
"You're regretting it, aren't you?"
I didn't regret it. I just didn't know what to think. We were supposed to be just friends and I crossed the boundary. Whatever happened between us, was my fault. If things got awkward, or we went back to not talking again, it was all on me. I was the one who started it all.
"I don't regret it." He said a moment later. "In fact, I'm glad it happened."
My head quickly turned to looked at him and I frowned.
"You are?"
He nodded his head. "Absolutely. Whatever you felt last night that made you decided to sleep with me, was what I was feeling."
"The sparks?"
"Yeah. When I touch you, I feel them. It's too powerful to ignore but somehow I manage. Most of the time." He added. "And when I look at you, I get-"
"Butterflies." I finished. "I get them too."
"Fuck butterflies. They don't compare the the animals I get whenever I'm around you."
I smiled. "That's nice to know."
"I'm glad you find what you do to me amusing."
I shrugged. "Maybe a little."
"Do you reget it, though?"
"No." I told him, shaking my head. "What I said last night, I meant it."
"The part about us feeling right?"
I nodded. "Yeah, that part but I didn't want us to change. I wanted us to be how we were."
He arched an eyebrow. "You want us to be miserable?"
"No. Of course not."
"Well that was how I felt before last night. If we changed, it was for better." He stepped closer to me. "And we're only gonna keep getting better."
"How?"
He stood in front of me and stared into my eyes.
"Because right now, right here, we're something entirely new and that's better than before."
"What are we?"
"I'll be whatever you want me to be." He replied, leaning down.
Right before his lips touched mine, I spoke.
"I want you to be mine."
"I'm all yours." He said then he crashed his lips to mine.
Our kiss was cut short while Jayce's phone started ringing. He groaned in annoyance but answered it.
"What do you want Landon?" He said, irritated.
I pushed his shoulder. "Stop being mean."
He grabbed my hand and pressed his lips against it as he listened to his brother speak.
"Right now?" He frowned as he took his phone from his ear and glanced at the time. "It's too early to pick Sky up. Give me two hours and then I'll come."
They said their goodbyes and he pocketed his phone.
"You can go pick them up, I'll still be here." I told him.
He shook his head. "No it's not that. Sky's with our aunt and our aunt's not much of a morning person. She'll gave me hell for waking her up." He explained.
I grinned. "It runs in the family, then."
He cocked one of his eyebrows.
"You're not a morning person, either." I said.
"I'm better than her."
I crossed my arms over my chest. "Are you sure about that? I remember you being grumpy for over two hours because I woke you up."
He rolled his eyes. "I wasn't grumpy."
"Sure..."
"Are you gonna help me clean up or stand there looking beautiful?"
"Beautiful? I have no make up on, my hair is all over the place and I...I just look horrible."
He grinned. "Not to me. Now c'mon we have a house to clean."
I went back to the kitchen while he searched the spare rooms, seeing if they had been used or not. If they were, he came back with sheets and covers. Surprisedly, only three beds were stripped.
He took all the trash bags out while I added a new one in the trash can. I sat down on the couch once I finished my part. He joined me a few minutes later.
I laid my head against his shoulder while he wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
"This was one of the first things I should've asked earlier." He said and I looked up at him. "But did I hurt you? Are you in any pain?"
His blue eyes looked at me, concerned for me, as he waited for my answer.
"No, you didn't hurt me. I'm just sore."
He kissed my forehead. "I'm sorry." He said. "You'll get used to it the more we do it."
"Who said I wanted to have sex with you again?" I joked.
"If I remember correctly, you were begging for it."
"Oh, was I?"
He nodded his head. "Yeah. I think those moans-"
He was interrupted by his phone again.
"I swear to God, if it's Landon, I'm gonna hurt him."
He grabbed his phone and answered it.
"What do you want now?" He moved his arm from my shoulders as he leaned forward. "Oh hey, Mom. I thought you were Landon."
I covered my mouth to keep from laughing out loud. Jayce glared at me from the corner of his eyes.
"Yeah, yeah. I heard you. You'll be here in hour and you want me to pick up the little heathens." He said. "You might not have called them that but Dad did."
I heard Vonna talking to Michael before she told her son bye. He stood and I did the same.
"Do you want me to drop you off first, or do you want to ride with me?" He asked. "Or on me." He smirked.
I rolled my eyes. "And this is why I can't stay with you."
"I was just kidding."
"I'm sure you were but dropped me off first. Cassidy's probably wondering where I am?"
He nodded. "Okay. Let me grab a shirt, I know I'm distracting you with this body."
I glared at him to keep from giving away he was right. Jayce's body was drool worthy. I didn't know how I managed to clean the house without getting into a trance.
He ran upstairs and came back a few moments later. He had a gray jack over his shirt and shoes on. He also had my shoes in his hand, along with a pair of socks.
"Here, I don't want your feet to get cold."
I took the long pair of socks and placed them over my feet. I grabbed my shoes from him.
"I'll bring your clothes later." He said as we were walking out the door.
They had a garage but Jayce seemed to never use it. He left his new, nice, black trunk out in the driveway. He had way too much trust.
I opened the door and stepped inside. He started the car and reversed out. Once he got to the street, he put the trunk in drive and turned the wheel to the right a couple of times before driving away.
He held my hand while he drove to my dorm building. He stopped at a red light and drummed his finger on the steering wheel as he waited for the light to change green.
"You know, I never thanked you for saving me last night." I said, looking at him.
He glanced at me for a second before looking back at the road as the light changed.
"You don't have to."
"Yes, I do."
"No, you want to."
"Whatever. Just let me thank you."
"How about something even better?" He said. "Kiss me."
"While you're driving? Do you know how stupid that is?"
"Stupid is as stupid does." He quoted Forrest Gump.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not kissing you."
"Why not?"
"I don't know if you noticed this but we're surrounded by cars."
He shrugged. "And?"
"And I rather not be in a car accident."
"You won't. If I can get h...nevermind." He stopped himself.
"If you can get what?" I asked.
"Nothing. It doesn't matter."
He stopped the car at my dorm building and turned to face me. I leaned across the console and pretend that I was going to kiss but I placed my lips by his ear.
"I knew exactly what you were about to say." I said, softly, before leaning back a little.
I quickly kissed him before hopping out the car. I wasn't mad or anything. I didn't have a reason to be mad. It was his past. I wasn't stupid, I knew he had done things I probably would never do because I was scared or didn't know how to do it. I wasn't as experience as him.
"Cole." He called out and I ignored him. "Cole!"
I opened the door and walked inside. I was heading up the stairs when he grabbed my arm and spun me around, and pressed me against the wall as he stood in front of me.
"Are you mad?"
I shook my head. "No. I'm not. We're good, okay?"
"What is it?"
"Nothing, I promise."
He didn't believe me, I wouldn't either I was a terrible lair. Before he could call me out on it, I kissed him, hard. He responded back, distracted. I pulled him closer by the back of neck and he placed his hands on my hips.
I leaned back and smiled. "There's nothing wrong, okay? I'll see you later."
I stepped to the side of him and continued to walked up the stairs. I opened my room door and Cass was sitting on her bed. She looked at me and what I was wearing and she grinned.
"You got some explaining to do."
I sat down on my bed and sighed. "I slept with Jayce."
Her eyes widened. "Oh my gosh! Are you being serious?"
I nodded my head. "Yeah."
"How was it? Was he as good as everyone said he was? How did the morning after go?" She questioned, excitedly.
"It was...incredible. He was incredible." I told her, smiling.
I didn't want to think about the other girls he had slept with. They had their chance but they missed the best thing ever. I was happy I was his first so to say.
"And when we woke up, I was debating whether I wanted to leave or not. Of course I stayed and we talked."
"So are y'all official?"
"I don't know but he said he's all mine."
I might not know exactly what we were but Jayce said we were something entirely new and that was better.
