{25} I'll Show You How It's Played
Chapter Twenty Five I'll Show You How It's Played
I took a deep breath and prayed I wasn't making a mistake. I looked inside the glass window and saw him, waiting for me. He looked so innocent. Very innocent. Yet he wasn't. It took everything I had in me not to yell at him as soon as I found out about it. When I saw that list, I cried for awhile. Then I stopped and try to think of ways I could bring it up to him. I could've simply said...
"I know about the list."
But he didn't deserve that. He lied to me as if it was easy and that wasn't okay. So after carefully planning out my revenge, I told him to meet me here at this fancy restaurant.
I pulled on the door handle and walked inside. I smiled at the host and she returned it.
"Hi. I made reservations for two under Kenning." I informed her, kindly.
She glanced at down and searched for the name. "Yes, he's here already. Right this way."
I followed her to the table and took my seat across from him. He dressed up and he looked amazing.
Perfect. I thought to myself.
"You looked beautiful." He told me.
I grinned. "Thank you and you looked good yourself."
He reached across the table to touch my hand. I looked down at our joined hands and my stomach dropped. I looked at him and put on a fake smile.
"Everything okay?"
I nodded. "Yeah everything's fine." I lied.
Well, it would be soon.
"You've been quite distant from me those past couple of days." He pointed out.
Maybe because you lied to me.
"Yeah. I..I've been busy." I said. "To make it up to you, I told you to meet me here."
"That's thoughtful."
You have no idea.
I nodded. "Yeah." I pulled my hand back and placed it on my thigh. "So what have you been up to?"
He shrugged. "Not much really. I've spent some time with Mark and Tyler and that's pretty much it."
Our waitress came with our drinks and appetizer. I stared at the clear drink and thought it wouldn't do. Not for what I had in mind.
"Can I have red, instead?" I asked her.
She wasn't going to question my age because I was Chance and Chance was old enough to drink.
"Sure thing. I'll be right back."
"Don't like white wine?" He asked, taking a sip of his drink.
"No. I do."
I was much of a drinker but every now and then I did drink wine. It wasn't what Cassidy would go for but I was perfectly fine with it. Speaking of Cass, she had no idea about my plan. If she did, she wouldn't even had let me came here. She would've demanded me to end things with him then and there. So, I figured I would wait until after I did what I had to do to tell her.
Our waitress, Becky, returned with my drink and we ordered. I tried to talk to Chance as if everything was normal but it hard not to lash out on him. But at least I didn't have to wait very long.
"So I was thinking after this we could head to my place." He said. "My parents are away for a few days."
Even if he hadn't lied to me, I still wouldn't sleep with him. I wasn't ready for that. Not yet. But I didn't tell him that.
I smiled. "Sure. That'll be great."
He smiled back as Becky came with our dessert. I had to do now or it would be too late.
"Chance?"
"Yeah?"
"You wouldn't lie to me, right?"
"Of course I wouldn't lie to you."
I nodded my head. "I was hoping you would say that."
He frowned. "What else would I say?"
"The truth." I replied. "I wanted you to tell the truth."
"The truth?" He repeated, frowning. "That was the truth."
I shook my head. "No it wasn't. I know about the list."
"What list?" He pretended to act dumb as if we didn't discuss this list earlier this week.
"The list that I'm on." I said, raising my voice to draw a little attention. "The list you promised I wouldn't be on but somehow I still manage to get on it anyway. The list that wasn't even supposed to exist but it does. That list."
He face paled and he opened his mouth to speak but I beat him to it.
"I asked you about it and you looked me in my eyes and lied to me." I said. "You lied. So whatever that blue circle meant, I hope it was worth it to you." I grabbed my red wine. "You're an asshole."
I threw the drink all over him and scooted my chair back. By then I had everyone's attention as they watched me walk out and saw a boy covered in red wine still in shock as he sat processing what I said.
He hated public humiliation and his father wouldn't be too thrilled if it tarnished their name.
Levi wouldn't be happy once he found out and I would try to talk him out of hurting Chance, even if he did deserved some pain. I wasn't much of a violence person and I didn't want Levi to do something he would later regret.
I unlocked Levi's car and stepped inside. I started the engine and glanced at the time. I still had enough time before he arrived. I reversed and pulled out the parking spot.
Five minutes later, I was putting the car in park and cutting the engine off. I looked in the mirror as I fixed my make up. I shrugged out my coat and took off my dark blue dress. I put my coat back on and climbed out the car.
My coat went down to my knees so I didn't have to worry about anyone seeing anything. I walked to his room and pulled out his dorm key from my coat pocket.
It was dark inside the room so I flipped the lights on. I looked at my phone to check the time and realized he would be here soon. I placed my purse and phone on his dresser and sat on the edge of his bed, with my legs crossed.
The more I waited for him to show up, the more nervous I got. I couldn't believe I was about to do this but I couldn't back out now. I've came so far already and by the time I did decide to chicken out, he would already be here.
My heart raced faster when I heard the door opening...
Then he walked in.
Confusion was written all over his face.
"What are you doing, Cole?" He asked.
Do it! I thought.
I stood up and walked over to him. I placed my hands on his chest and glanced up at through my eyelashes.
"Just what you want me to do." I said, lowly.
"And what's that?"
"This."
I kissed him without hesitation and I felt his heartbeat pick up. He didn't kiss me back. He was fighting against it but he would give in sooner or later.
I switched us around and back him up towards the edge of his bed. He leaned back.
"Cole..why are doing this?"
I smiled at him. "Isn't this not what you want. You wanted me in a sexy, revealing lingerie. So you could do whatever you want." I told him. "Well, baby, you're getting your wish."
I tugged on the loose knot on the coat and it fell to the floor. He tried so hard not to glanced at my body but he failed and my smile grew.
He closed his eyes. "Cole, stop."
I pressed up against him and placed my lips right next to his ear. "Why? You don't want me to stop. In fact, you want me to continue."
I kissed behind his ear and moved down his neck, leaving my red lipstick mark. I grabbed his hands and placed them on my waist.
I pushed him back onto the bed and climbed on top off him. I quickly took his shirt off and threw it behind me. I moved my hand down his chest towards his pants.
"Cole, stop, please." He begged.
"Why, Jayce? You don't want me to stop." I said. "You definitely don't want me to stop." I grinned, feeling his bulge from under me.
"You know what I want you to do to me?" I asked. "I want you to-"
"Cole!" He interrupted me. "Stop before you regret this."
I smiled. "Trust me I'm not going to regret it."
I leaned down and kissed him. I just needed to tease him just little longer. I moved my hips and he moaned in the kiss. The corner of my lips tilted up.
I sat up and bit my lower lip as he looked at me. He was completely under my spell. And that's just what I wanted.
I opened my mouth to tell him that I knew about his secret but he beat me to it.
"He told you, didn't he? He told you my secret."
"He didn't have to." I got off him. "I saw the video. I saw the fucking video. I can't believe you said that about me. We were friends and made it sound like I was just another girl to you. And all those things you said I would do to you and what you would do to me." I shook my head. "You're unbelievable."
I picked up my coat and put it on.
He stood up. "I didn't mean. I didn't mean any of it."
I looked at him.
"I don't believe you." I said. "And I don't trust you anymore."
I grabbed my purse and phone as I stepped towards the door. I walked out his room, half expecting him to follow me but the other half didn't want him to.
I walked to the car and hopped inside. I didn't start it. I sat there, thinking. I thought about that stupid list Chance made. I thought about Jayce's words. And I wonder what made them do that. Why?
He told Chance was using me and I didn't believe him. I should've but I didn't. I chose to believe Chance's words and I let both of them lie to me.
When I thought how I would tell them I knew their secret, I wanted them to know I could play their game too. I wanted to show them how it was played.
It was dumb and immature of me but I felt compelled to do it. I wanted to do it. But now that I done it, I felt stupid. It wasn't the right way to got about it.
I stuck the key in the ignition and started the car up. I drove to my dorm building and grabbed my stuff before getting out. I locked the doors as I headed to the entrance.
"Hey." Cassidy said. "Where have you been?"
I shut the door and sat on my bed.
"I have to tell something but I don't want you to hurt them."
She rose an eyebrow. "If you had to say that then I'm hurting them."
Knowing Cass, she probably would.
"You were right. I shouldn't have forgiven him. He lied to me."
Tears fell from my eyes and Cassidy moved from her bed to mine, wrapping her arm around my shoulders.
"What did he do?"
"He put me on this list. I don't know what it means but my name is circled in blue."
"I knew there was something I didn't like about that guy." She muttered. "Wait. You said them. Who's the another one."
"Jayce."
"Jayce?" She repeated. "What did he do?"
"I think it's better if I showed you."
I got up and grabbed her laptop and the disk from my dresser. I gave her the laptop and told her to hit play.
"What am I about to watch?"
I didn't respond but I didn't need to because they answered her question for me.
"Okay, Jayce..what..what about Cole Jaxon?" A guy named, Derek asked.
"Cole." Jayce said. "That's a great one. We would be fucking all night long. Shit, I would tie her to the bed and we'll go at it. She would be begging for me to stop. But she asked it. She's the one who showed up in Victoria's Secret shit."
There was more of the video but Cassidy stopped playing it. She looked at me.
"I'm shocked he said that about you. You of all people. There has to be something we're missing."
I shook my head. "We're not missing anything. He said what he wanted to say."
Maybe he wasn't the boy I thought I knew. Maybe this was really who he was.
