- Spiraera prunifolia, also known as "bridal wreath", symbolizes virginity. It is also known as "St. Peter's Wreath" meaning victory. The plant contains salicylates, which are used to ease pain, aches and reduce fevers.  Native Americans used the flower in medicines to treat a number of ailments, such as abdominal pain and venereal conditions.
