34. Her Eyes
(A sonnet)
She had the eyes
That lit up the world,
Elucidated the lies,
Through the irises that swirled.
A hue of rare amber,
Speckled brown,
Almost like the sunlight slumber,
Over the summer town.
They reached to the depths of the ocean,
And lingered along the dusty roads,
They closed in profound devotion,
As steadied before her, her goals.
But just into the midnight dark,
Is when her eyes discerned the universe.
